I ran 2:26 last December in Valencia, and just ran the first 28km of Copenhagen together with Phily until she dropped me (haaard). I can confess the weather was scorching and Phily raced like an absolute professional. You've got so much more in the tank Phily!!

Not only are you a sub 2:30 marathoner, but you were also THE ONLY RUNNER IN THE TOP 20 TO NEGATIVE SPLIT!!!
Absolutely incredible. I was going to say congrats at NOT10K yesterday but you looked very busy with microphone in hand so decided not to!!

That TV footage of you finishing the marathon is the stuff of dreams, especially with you wearing the England flag at the finish - what a moment!! And then... the clip of you hobbling around the day after is hilarious!! Great contrast. You rarely see so many sides of an elite athlete's life. Keep up the great work. And kudos to Daniel too - amazing stuff 👏

When I watched your Copenhagen race, the most surprising thing was how smiley you were and how much you appeared to be enjoying it! It's not usual for us to see elite runners enjoying themselves like that!😆So I'm glad to hear how much extra energy you were feeling by interacting with the crowd and smiling & responding to them! Right on, girl! You can do anything! Olympics, here you come!🇬🇧

I was (and am) so emotionally invested in your success. You are simply flippin' fantastic! I just finished a half marathon today. Let's just say I was in a "pain cave." It was more like a "pain condo." But I had raised $1,300 for juvenile diabetes. So, I kept thinking about that and all the people in my life who stepped up with their support. I shifted my attention from my effort for myself to my effort running for all of them. So much love and respect, Phily. You're a good one.

I have to 100%! Agree with you on the fuel the crowd provides, especially at the tail end. I ran my first ever sub 90min half today and that last 5k was a struggle bus. Congrats once again Phily! Great to hear your thoughts on the race and your process; emotional stuff!
Your last video inspired me to test out Marathon distance yesterday, which was admittedly daft considering I've only ran 10km distance recently and never ran further than 30km ever. Still, got through it in 4h18mins though the last 7 miles were a mental challenge. I can relate to the stairs situation today but I enjoyed the challenge so much I've decided to enter Chelmsford Marathon in October. p.s I agree with the cross training; I do Triathlon and the bike / swim really help.

I’m so over the moon for you Philly! I can also do relate to the crowd thing-ran my first half last April-in the last 5k there was a couple young lad’s hanging over the barriers screaming their heads off with their arms outstretched for high fives-split second decision but I obliged, & ended up floating thru the last 5k. I know they weren’t there for me, but it felt like it. The energy I got from that point in the race was incredible. I also pulled something out of the bag that race that I didn’t think possible, & I think the crowd had a big part in that!!

I ran my first marathon in Manchester this year and was humbled by the distance. I only had 8 weeks preparation, realising I Didn't prepare for the race for my true potential. I got a time of 4:39 in the end; indeed a 🐌. However, I was humbled and realised that your ego needs to be put to one side and realise your chasing the distance, not necessarily always the time. A humbling moment I'll never forget. Cannot wait for the next one.
