    i absolutely love simple effects and transitions... and the fact that you can start with just a simple "adjustment Layer" and build even more with just that one layer makes this transition a top tier transition... no third party plugins or complicated fusion antics... I personally would LOVE to learn more of these types of transitions/effects seeing how i'm coming from adobe premiere/after effects

  • @cinematic-notes1

    Can you add this as a transition preset? I tried the example from a previous tutorial about dropping the setting file into the effects transition box. It dropped just fine but when used it goes back to first frame of transition then goes to next frame as supposed to. If I use it as an adjustment layer it works great though. Great stuff sir!

  • @TaleSlinger
    @TaleSlinger ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Alex -- I learned a bit this from you a while ago, and I have a dozen of them in my power bin as a result. (Thanks!!!) This however, shows me several things that I needed to take them to the next level. I can't wait to do it!
    One thing I don't understand from the video is why the second clip shows up on the LHS before the midpoint of the adjustment clip?
    And one thing I REALLY wish I could do with this is to bring the two clips below I'm transitioning to Can we access the two videos in the video below when making a transition, or are we only able to do transitions for whatever "the sum" of the video is and "adjust" it? After a lot of experimentation, I assume that's not an option, but maybe the answer to the previous question will help with that.
    My goal is to build a bunch of adjustment clips to make still video montages super easy.

    • @MrAlexTech
      @MrAlexTech  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeaa you can but only if you build them as proper fusion transitions. You can't do that if you're using this adjustment clip method

  • @2424rocket

  • @marc3793
    @marc3793 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    This is good timing as I'm trying to improve my transitions.
    One thing I'm struggling to figure out is having a side panel come in from the left to put text on (like youve done a video on previously). But at the same time it moving the footage to the right at the same pace to keep me centralised still with remaining screen space.
    I'm sure there's a way with transitions or something similar but can't figure it out!

    • @LewisJJC
      @LewisJJC ปีที่แล้ว

      Use an adjustment clip above both of them to move the side panel into place. If you are then not centred properly, use transform keyframes on only that clip to move it the other way/move it more

    • @marc3793
      @marc3793 ปีที่แล้ว

      @LewisJJC thanks. I will experiment. I was hoping to be able to move the footage to the left and right without keyframing it, but it no big deal.

  • @FrankPloegman
    @FrankPloegman ปีที่แล้ว +1

    This is great, thank you! I was struggling somewhat with video transitions when the part before and/or after the transition has more than one video track.
    A compound clip would be an obvious solution, but that introduces new problems. For example if you don't want to add the audio to the compound clip but do want to retain the ability to easily synchronize audio and video.
    The best solution I had found thus far is to add a transition to each video track. This works (at least for simple transitions) but is time-consuming. Another solution is to stop (start) elements on higher video tracks just before (after) the transition starts (ends).
