Great breakdown! I'm sure you were thinking it but since you didn't mention it, I thought I'd add: Witchbane/No Mercy combo sounds like it would combo great with Decimating Strike since a strong roll there gets you well on your way to the 40% concentration break with just 1 hit. Phases shouldn't be a problem as long as the boss comes back with full life (we saw this in at least one boss fight that some folks showed, not naming it since some may see that as a spoiler). With that said, GGG must have seen this in their earlier testing so I would imagine there will be plenty of bosses where the phases do not result in returning with full life (otherwise this combo would've been nerfed by now given how much stronger it is than what anyone else has). If my guess turns out to be true, then Witchbane/No Mercy can end up being worthless in those fights.
Thanks! I actually thought about it, but it's actually gimmicky because the range is 5% to 30%, so if it rolls 5%, then it wouldn't be good. Also, we don't have the full number on how good concentration breaks would be, but I really like it because it provides QoL and more "effective" damage, as we can see that the uptime when fighting bosses in PoE 2 can be low since we need to think about telegraphed attacks a lot (also not going to name some bosses, but like GGG said, they will be back in the end game in a stronger version with more abilities). I thought the Witchbane/No Mercy + Decimating/Culling would be really good (on paper) for the early game, but not for pinnacle bosses because for those fights, you want consistent DPS and need to beat them fair and square (at least that's what I think GGG wants when designing the boss fight). At least in early access, though, I wouldn't be surprised if there will be some early version of Merc ultizing that combo to literally one-shot the pinnacle boss
@@LazyExile One content creator (forget who but wasn't the one who broke NDA because I didn't watch that channel's video), shared a screen of what broken concentration does: 50% less cooldown. Rolling 5% isn't great but we should value it at the average, which puts it at 17.5%, or almost halfway to concentration break with just the opening shot.
50% less cooldown sounds great on paper, because we'll have other forms of CC as well. It's an interesting mechanic that will definitely be worth it to test out, I'll be doing some testing as soon as I can on it!
I've had many failures with bows in POE1, because those builds are not tanky... That's the reason why I choose Pathfinder's Poison & Tanky builds as my starter every season.
Do you know if Zealous inquisition combines with Herald of Ash, a buff that if you kill an enemy with more damage than necessary he explodes, i'm using it and it's great for clearing
@@LazyExile got it, thanks! what about post campaign and into maps? im really not sure when i'll get around to doing the harder trials, so was wondering which would generally be stronger between no mercy and decimating strike
personally, I didn't get to play a Witchhunter, but from what I've seen, Sorcery Ward is quite good. So for generic build, you would take zealous inquisition for the free explody, then spec into culling strike, and get the 2 sorcery ward nodes for endgame. However, for pushing sanctum, definitely get decimating strike, and culling strike imo
Your interpretation is one of the best for easy understanding with all those summary notes on the same pages. Great video❤
Hope it was helpful! Thanks for watching 😊
Thanks for the video, very instructive and well structured!
you're welcome! 😊
excelent explanation love it
Glad you liked it!
Interesting watch, thank you.

stack defensive and go DoT is definitely a cheap way to do it in PoE 2, let's see if the trend continue in PoE 2
Amazing Video i will Start whit Mercenary
Good luck!🍀

yea explody is great and will always be in PoE. All the herald clears are great in PoE 2 so far!
for the first 4 points during leveling, would you recommend going no mercy or decimating strike?
for your first 2 ascendancy points, I recommend going for zealous inquisition and pitiless killer honestly. You can get through the campaign faster.

@@LazyExile ooh okay, many thanks for the input!
np!
how do we get ascendancy points? is it after so many levels?
you'll need to clear the trials of shekkema, or trial of the chaos god to start unlocking the ascendancy points
You have a beautiful voice ;)
Thanks!! 😊
