Same story for me... I have played once till level 60 but it was too much stuff but with your vid... damn hours fly by so fast. So much more fun than D4. D4 was fun during leveling but the moment you hit ~90-100 its just so boring and harder to see meaningful progress.
Something that would help me immensely as a new player is a guide detailing transition of gear etc from league start to white, yellow, red maps. ive been following guides and get to the part of mapping just fine but that's where I start getting lost no matter the guide how well I follow it, I cant seem to understand how to gear properly without just spending a million divines .
The hardest thing for me to understand as a new player are the various league mechanics. It would be AWESOME if you could simplify each of them and maybe provide insight into strategy and which ones are most worth pursuing. Appreciate all of your work. These guides are best I've come across by a long shot.
There is a ton to learn, which is why its often suggested to just find content you enjoy interacting with first and then look up strategies involving it to learn more complex concepts for farming synergy and efficiency many of which are actually somewhat hidden. For example, in Raxx's giga-quantity strategy a map like Jungle Valley doesn't count as having a spawned boss until he enters the den at the end or in the case of Cemetery the layout lets a player rush the boss right away, which is important because with no boss the Eldritch influence alters will always provide one of the quantity increasing options. Also, more mobs equates to more alters, Delirium adds tons of mobs, Legion adds tons of mobs + pauses Delirium fog allowing more time to clear the map, etc... As much stuff packed into one map rolled to the highest quantity on his character that has increased drops and magic find. Multipliers stack on multipliers.
Ive played every other league for the most part since synthesis (3.8) and my recommendation would be to try them all initially and see which mechanics you enjoy. After that, pick 2 mechanics a league and really learn them. Zizaran has a video where he goes over each league in roughly 2 minutes if you're just wanting a specific idea of what each mechanics is and what it has to offer.
Breech : stand on a purple hand circle slowlty gets bigger and spans stuff. good for screen clearing builds. rewards unique bosses and uniques assopsiated with them best at the start of the league. Abyss : stand on a green thing on the ground and follow it killing the monsters it spawns. good for builds that enhanced drop quantity becasue it spits out lots of rare monsters for conversion drops. good always. expedtion : set up bombs to unlock chests monsters and challenges to drop currency to trrade with npcs. good for every one to trade for random upgrades and currency or some meme gamba. good early less good later on. sacred grove (harvest): enter a portal to kill some stuff that drops crafting stuff. good for exprienced players. good at all times. legion : click a crystal and it will spawn stuff kill what you can and then kill them again for some nice loot. good for aoe clear builds. good at all times. ritual : some circles will apear on the map with a altar in the middle kill the stuff in the circle and click the altar to have it respawn all the stuff again get points and buy the stuff in the altar. fine for everyone and generaly fine. just kinda mid overall. blight : its tower deffence that you can interact with the monsters it spawns. good for anotinging your necklace. great early on and continues to be good forever. ultimatum : big red circel you have to stay inside of where you get increasing difficulty and rewards for doing the challenges and possibly a fight with the boss at the end. you get catalitsts that can make your gear stronger. you want a good build for this. fun but overshadowed by the current mechanic. delirium : walk into a mirror and shit get sidnificatly harder but drops more stuff. one of the best mechanincs in the game for loot in general. needs a decent build to even start with it and is a pillar of the end game most of the time. rouge markers (hiest) : a fun side game to the base game that has you stealing stuff. super rewarding but also long to get into. good for everyone that has the time to give to set it up. good all the time. strong boxes : click a box monsters spawn kill them box opens and drops items. a genericlly good mechanic most builds can do. generically good the more you invest into it. harbingers : a untargetable dude will spawn things for you to kill, kill enough he will die and drop currency shards. you can get stuff to help your atals progression early on or fracture orbs. kind abad in general after your atalas is done unless you really want to farm fracture orbs. rouge exiles: puts "difficult" mobs in the map to kill drops stuff. not bad but not great. essences : click a monster encased in a crystal kill it and it will drop essences good fro crafting. the mechanic can from time to time can make some bullshit monsters beware. however the drops are so good its generally worth it. consistant currency that dosent scale with anything so good for everyone at all times. torment : ignore this unless you absolutly know what your going. jun (betrayal) : a kinda detective game that has complex but good rewards read a guide. niko (delve) : click things in the map get fuel for a mine cart endless scaling difficulty hard bosses and crafting stuff read a guide. alva (incursion) : you make a temple that can have some fun stuff. read a guide but its very simple. einhar(beastiary) : kill and capture animals. read a guid to see what they all do.
I'm not a beginner anymore, and knew basically everything in the video, still, I've watched and enjoyed every part of it. So happy to see how much you enjoy this game and spread the love to your audience
One really nice tip is that Kirac's vendor inventory refreshes every time you run a Kirac mission. This is really nice to know if Kirac's vendor inventory doesn't have any uncompleted maps for you, and can help you avoid missing out on something good in his inventory if you aren't sure when to check.
you absolutely have to keep this going as there are a lot of new players that you can really help out as you are new also. too many of the veterans are so deep into the game that they dont know how to "dumb it down" for us noobs like you do. thanks for all you do man
Yes you hit the nail on the head with this one. I mean I really dont blame them its hard when you have been playing as long as some of those guys but they use a lot of termonology and stuff that I just dont quite grasp yet. Rax is the absolute best at breaking it all down for a complete newbie like me.
I have gained alot. The style of presentation is great. Pacing is key. Some great Players make great informative vids, but the pacing of their speech is too fast to easily pick it up in one pass. Sometimes it needs a few listens in a section to catch nuances, and details. As if it is lacking punctuation!
You had quite possibly the greatest intro to POE beginners luck newb mentorship in the history of PoE. I am so glad you clearly have thoroughly enjoyed the late game.
I've been playing this game for such a long time, and I've been in the end game doing 'juiced' red maps for 7 or 8 leagues now, and there was so much I was missing or doing inefficiently. I'm so glad you have a community to teach you everything, and that you have an amazing way of re-teaching everything in such a concise and clear way.
I just started playing last week without a clue in the world in what I am doing. I have watched multiple different videos and not one PoE youtuber (imo) can break it down like you do for us new players. You just have a really nice way of explaining everything and I feel like when I watch your guides, its like how a friend who is getting me into a new game would explain the game to me. You have been very helpful. I would literally watch a 10 part, 1 hour per episode guide by you, so please dont feel like they are too long. Cant wait for the next one. Thanks a bunch
You are truly a godsend. Sandbox RPG's like this can be both a delight or nightmare if you don't know what to do first. I had just finished the core campaign and was deep into vault thievery with my ubiqutous and powerful srs poision popcorn build. Mind you I'm only level 73. I knew ZERO about how atlas map progressions worked. Your tut is simply amazing, detailed, highly informative from the first 3 minutes into it. It breathed new life (and a new addiction) to post game activities. Thanks to you I completed about 15 missions and amassed a ton of maps in just 3 hours after your vid!!. Super excited here! 10/10 stars and patron for life. Huge thanks!
This type of guide is exactly what's needed for me to play the game. It's so overwhelming to get into even if I know all the basics from years ago. I'm a casual player, but I hate playing in non-optimal ways, so concise guides from someone who really understands what's important to leave in and leave out of a guide is so beneficial. I know you're very appreciative of your fans, Raxx, but please know that what you do, makes a massive difference to a lot of people.
Good video. Correction Regarding Altars: Broadly speaking, you want the minion modifiers if you're using Red Altars. They give a lot of valuable currency and the buffed minions are still manageable, so it's what you use in beginner strategies and strategies that are profitable without high quantity and rarity. Also, the debuffs on global modifiers for red altars are really brutal, so what they really say is "You gain Death". Don't do that. Once you have a better character and a strategy that benefits from quantity and rarity, you can use the global modifiers on blue altars.
Dude. Thank you. Your videos are the easiest to understand across the board. A lot of people go way too quick even for beginner type walkthroughs. Appreciate you putting in the time to do this because this game is super complicated. I hope to be able to make content like this one day to give back to the community. Thanks again.
Raxx... PoE has needed you for years. Hands down the best explanation for beginners there is. As soon as you said you were going to be playing and doing guides I jumped back on PoE. I'd really like to hunker down and get serious with it before PoE2 comes out.. and I am going to need your guidance to do it else I will fizzle out again. I'm done with D3/D4 for now. Please do selling next! Get some focus on how to read Awakened when you price check a drop and how to tell what is worth what. What is worth selling or keeping or not picking up/vendoring. PS. I dropped a hundo on the supporter pack and bought all the stash tabs. That sale was 100% because you started playing PoE. No way I would have done that if I was just going to jump back in, fart around, and fizzle out on the complexity again.
When i saw your first video about PoE i decide to give it a chance. As a veteran diablo player...this game is awsome, im a bit mad i didnt touch it earlier. Already have 85 lv char and having a lot of fun!!! Only if Diablo would be like this... Thanks Rax
@@sigmatic2788 nearly everything. The Progression System, the amount of content, the content itself. Actually having an Endgame :D. Every system in POE is more thoughtout and fun than whole D4. I really loved the Beta of D4.And i thought poe was done. But well, i was so wrong. Hitting 100 felt like a chore. Getting Items felt like a chore. POE feels like fun. there is stuff to discover. New Builds to try (there are literaly 1000s and more Builds and different Variations of em). Working crafting system. Working trade. Lots of different ways to upgrade and progress your character. There simply is no perfect build. And you can always tune it more to you likings. Even multiple mirror spent on Raxx character, there are still plenty of ways to upgrade it. Hell it can't even do all content. Maybe i can do UberBosses. But comfortably? nope. It is simply not tanky enough. Deep delve? Hell No. Lack of Tankiness and Damage. Optimizing your character. the possibility to workt towards sth.
I smiled like a little kid when you practically promised I'd get my Mageblood. I'll be keeping you to that! Awesome guide as a brand new PoE player hitting maps for the first time. I learned so damn much from this.
Raxx, having played D4 and LE (watching your videos of course), I didn't expect how huge of a learning curve PoE would still be. Explanation was done extremely well. Thanks for the video, keep doing content like this, it's amazing.
The timing is fantastic. I just finished the campaign after playing based on your first guide. Now I'm at maps and was feeling a little overwhelmed. Now I'm ready to blast. (mentally lol)
I do like these videos. I think something thats important is that you go step by step through things and explain it. A lot of guides are like. "Hey you can just craft it, just add x and y" without telling you that x requires you to farm veiled items (and that some things are specific to certain folks) and y requires the horticrafting station, but you don't get that until you enter the sacred groove. There is so much information with POE that I think some creators forget that basic information isn't that basic if you are not already familiar with how the 100 different league mechanics work together.
I do appreciate the time you put into this video, really. I have to admit that almost everything was a valuable asset to a new player and appealed to me as something good to know. The only thing to mention is the Mapping part. This is just too unrealistic for new players to even come close to. The sheer amount of ressources needed is too immense to even think about micro-managing maps in that way. What I really, really would appreciate as a new player would be a progression guide for Currency farming. You will find many strategies online to farm Currency for a specific League mechanic, Maxroll does a very good job here, but I couldn't find a simple "Do Alch&Go, then do this, then do that until this, then do that until this, ..." approach. I would really appreciate if you could focus on this since I do believe many new players, even though there are guides available on how to make currency, new players stepping up to the end game will just have a hard time figuring out what are the steps necessary to progress in Currency farming.
I have watched probably 50+ hours of stuff since I started 3 weeks ago and this helped me the most. Not the very beginner stuff, but the mapping stuff. I have been searching and searching trying to find this info and couldn’t figure out what I wasn’t doing right even though I was running scarabs with 6-9k wisps and still not dropping a divine but once in like 6 maps. This guide helped tremendously. Thanks.
thank you so much for these videos, i just started poe and have been following all your guides. the way you describe everything makes so much sense for a complete noob like me. these long videos are so much more valuable for me than somebody's 10 minute guide that assumes you know everything. once again thank you! hope you can make more guides in the future :)
Great video! Happy to see you making PoE guides Raxx, they are very useful and very welcome. A couple notes I had while watching: - With regards to Kirac missions, they are a little weird in that his missions can give you a red map downgraded as a yellow or a white, for example. You can still get completion in this case, but you need to make sure it is rare and corrupted in his mission window. This is especially important if you are using explorer's scouting reports - With regards to rolling sextants, you really want to take the atlas node that gives sextants +1 maximum use when you are rolling them; among other things, it significally affects the price you can sell them for
There is a difference between "completing" a map and bonus objective of a map. Completing always happens when the map boss is killed. Then the Map is added to the drop pool, when not running adjacent maps. For the Bonus objective one needs to kill the map boss on the required rarity as Rax describes. Tier 1-5 magic, 6-10 rare and 11-16 rare plus corrupted.
I learned a ton from this. Most beginner guides feel like they are still talking to someone who has been playing for years. My build and prospects are so much better now.
This is my first league so I'm a complete beginner. I struggle to get my questions answered in your streams so this is awesome. I learned a ton and lots of "mysteries" were explained. Much appreciated.
Love it. I’ve been trying to learn this game for two years. I watch Pohx and Ziz 4-7 hour videos to learn, but they forget that I have no idea what so many things are or do. Still love their content, but this helps because you are finding this stuff out for the first time and realize what is important to explain.
Here a few tips 1. Juicing isn’t all or nothing. If you can run your current set-up comfortably, add a little bit more. 2. Don’t be afraid to use borrowed power. On the atlas you can specc into shrine or a notable call Packed with energy, use inspired learning jewel (poor man headhunter) or even buy compass that empower you (gloom shrine, vaal skill, etc.). These allow you to run more difficult map than your base character would. 3. The most profitable strategies for lower budget are usually the one that nobody are doing. Doing a bit of research can pay off tremendously.
Raxx...You are spot on about the regular expressions. I am new to POE this league after watching you blast on Twitch and this video alone is saving so much time over what I was doing for crafting maps. TY so much. You are easily producing the best beginner POE content on TH-cam and it's not close! As a new player, I have looked high and low for good videos that help explain POE to a new player and everyone of them is too complicated out of the box. Since you were basically a new player this League, I think you are uniquely positioned to understand what questions all of us have also! Thanks and keep up the awesome work!
i've watched tons of video guides that i have lost count but man, your videos are the best. you're so patient in explaining the details. i learned a lot from both. subbed! thank you!
Raxx I really appreciate you trying to show how to juice maps, it's a very well put together guide. And I know that's what's the game like for you. But as these guides are supposed to help beginners, who don't have an endless supply of guidance by chat, I think there's a crucial step missing between your two guides. How do you actually get your mid tier build? Or to break it down a little more: What to prioritze (sockets, life, defenses, etc.)? What to do first? What items to pick up? How to tell if the item is good for your build? How to tell if it can be made good for your build? How do you then change it by crafting to be a good item? How do you prepare your charcter for different milestones like red maps and so on... Literally too many questions to ask, but maybe to give you an idea what difficulties there are. Juicing maps is fine and dandy, but if you cannot get a build together that can run these maps, that knowledge isn't worth much. Would be nice if you can focus on that part, as this is where the majority of the players get lost and quit (at least that's what I've experienced multiple times when trying POE, as well some people on reddit said). For me the experience is like this: Campaign was easy, same for the white maps. Got some gear that had stats that looked beneficial, made them have the sockets I need for my gems, got some flasks... But then it went downhill. I don't know how to get any upgrade at all, so I've basically been running the same tier dungeons with the same gear for a week, without get a single point of dps more. And still get easily killed by some mobs. I'm playing srs guardian, using the maxroll guide, so the build itself shouldn't be that bad, it's a me problem. TLDR; How to transition from the end of the campain to a good mid tier build you can map with?
This! I'm also struggling with the same thing haha! Just don't seem to find the items i need and some of the items aren't on poe trade, so can't even buy them. Sadge
Rax, as someone with master's degree in pedagogy I have to say, you have talent to explain things so that they are easy to understand, which is a great and the most important ability to have for any teacher. Also regarding Kirac's maps - always price check the maps that Kirac sells. Sometimes he sells a map for 7 chaos and you only have 8. But if you price check it you might find, that the map sells for 60 chaos. Usually it is the guardian maps. So always buy those.
As someone who has played off and on for a couple years, always finishing the campaign and getting lost on maps, this is HUGE! Thank you for the digestible take.
I'm new to the game, but an old D2/D3 vet. I've tried this game several years ago and decided to give it another go and your videos have taught me so much. Looking forward to more PoE content, you're very good at what you do.
You definitely need to make more of these. I first tried POE last season and made it to about Lv95, but couldnt make it to the actual "endgame" because everything was too overwhelming (bosses, mapping, crafting, whatnot). I think I'll maybe start playing again once you have more guides up and I have a better understanding on things. Super entertaining and easy videos! Keep em coming
Honestly Raxx, this guide is fantastic. Its exactly what i needed to learn- ive been playing just over a week. More than that though I've followed you for years from d3 until now, and you have the best guides from a gamer to another gamer. You've got something special to offer the poe community, because even though they have the skills and experience their beginner guides very often arent. Inadvertently some lingo or some assumption leaks through and a key part will fly overhead or get missed. Not you my man. You avoid using much lingo, explain clearly and concisely, and most importantly you give us a quality "why" answer that helps it stick and makes me excited to get to my next session and apply it. Few things feel as empowering as learning stuff from you, you're like the gamer brother who knows his shit that is willing to share lol. Great work man. Im happy to follow along to the next.
Is this a good guide? Well,I stoped playing the game to watch a little bit of it and ended up not only watching the entire thing, I also didn't notice it was an hour-long until it was over. And I also learned a lot, which should be the main point of any guide. Thank you. Now I am going to watch part 1. Because I am a badass and like to skip ahead. And not because I'm not very smart, no sir.
What a in depth video man. You get to explain everything step by step, years of knowledge condensed in a clear and guided way, really glad I came across with this video, I cant wait to start mapping 🎉
I honestly love how much thought and details you put into your guides, man. I watched your first one and it differently made me want to play POE. Thanks again for the great video and please continue the video series!
Not a beginner but still loved hearing you talk about maps from start to finish! really digging the enthusiasm and how deep you've jumped in. More of these videos pls!
Dude I totally forgot there was a second part just on mapping lol. Played through to the endgame for the first time this season after following your very well put together part 1. Got to t14 maps and just hit a wall for 2 days. Almost walked away from the game but then just figured id check to make sure I didnt miss anything and low and behold a whole hour of content just waiting to seep into my brain. Man thank you so much for your videos Raxx. This is my 6th time trying out this game and it stuck because i followed your guide.
Hey Rax, I just completed campaign very first time after watching your first Poe Guide! Now started doing some maps. I watched both of your guide 2 times and still I can't say that I understand mapping enough, especially atlas. Well, I'm still a newbie with 60chaos set hah Thanks for the content!
Your such a good teacher , don’t know if it’s by design but repeatly say orb em down sizzle them up really stuck and if it was by intention you truly are a god teacher
Man you really made this game amazing for me. I think I’ve commented a few times but I just like the game more and more because of you. What an amazingly complex and fun game. You’re awesome at explaining this stuff man
The information u put in these videos is amazing... Ofc its 1 hour long but for someone who is new (like me) these tips are invaluable I didnt know u can buy boss kills, definitely gonna do that once i have the respective quests for it I wondered the whole time how to get scarabs sextants etc (even tho im not quite there yet still tryna progress through my atlas get netter gear etc) but now i know Great explanations throughout the video helped me a ton especially the 1st video But this one is a gem aswell, adds a lot more to the small picture and idea i had about the endgame Much appreciated
Rax you are THE MAN. I´m a 35 yo doctor from Spain who loves videogames since I can´t even remember. I discover you 10 months ago and you got me into D4 nd the genre. Thanks to your help I was able to get to lvl 100 and kill everthing this season. Now you are getting me into POE and loving it. I realy llike the way you talk and comunicate and theway you teach things for dumb people like me. Keep up the good work really and thank you
Your first guide was the reason to start playing PoE. Im looking forward to your guides, i find them very straight forward and simple . I saw an league starter build guide and i got lost !
Never have I wanted to stick around and learn this game more then after watching these most 2 recent vids. Clear in order not full of extra stuff I know nothing about as a new player. Iv gotten stuck on the point of mapping 3 different times and quit due to lack of info for newer players. Grad A guide. Sticking around for good thanks to you. 🎉
Great video, you explain all the mechanics really clearly! I have two addition: While using X-Mouse is fine, "unlocking" your mouse wheel so the scroll wheel keeps going after you let go is against ToS, since it provides more than one action in game for a single irl action. Also, Firefox will sometimes bug out and stop scrolling while X-Mouse is running, so just close X-Mouse if you encounter that problem.
Thanks! Your beginner video got me to give POE a 2nd try. I followed the SRS Guardian guide and am having a blast. Your explanations are clear and I'm finally starting to understand the basics of the game. Please keep making guides. They are really helpful.
Already a ton of amazing guides out there but from now on whenever i need to recommend someone a guide i will lead them directly to these videos. Please continue making these. You are making these somewhat hard to explain mechanics easy to understand for new players. Quality stuff !
Raxx is a Legend! the details of explanation is not only clear but educational. there are many great content creators but Raxx is on another level, he really understand the diffculty of being a Beginner Clueless Syndrome(BCS). one of the biggest reason to play games is to have fun, without understanding the basics you're not enjoying the game has to offer. i wish Raxx all the best and more people should watch his videos.
Superb timing on your guide. A complete newb here. Got into the PoE just before NYE,. Arrived at maps 2 days ago, ready to tackle them and have no idea how to do it effectively... Really appreciate your hard work for all us new to the game;)
5:45 I had forgotten about Kirac, and I was dreading going through his maps reading the map then checking my completion and back and forth and back and forth... then you said press Alt and I saw it showed if it was completed. Holy SHIRT BALLS!!! I had no idea, lmfao thanks!
Your guides and explanation style are excellent. Thanks. I just wanted to make one comment that I learned recently from a TyTyKiller interview. Rather than doing all your tier 1 maps, then your tier 2, and progressing that way, it’s better to run the highest maps you have because then when they drop connected maps, those maps then can also drop in the lowest tier maps when you eventually run them. So always running the highest tier maps you have is better for sustain in the long run
Just got into POE and loving your guides, it's nice to have it broken down without someone using to much poe lingo. The old creators of poe can get a little too enthusiastic on the beginner guides and they tend to lose me. Really loved the break down and pace.
Another random tip that veterans may not know/forget, if you ctrl+click a vendor it opens up the sell tab immediately, can save alot of time in the end
Wow, your timing is impeccable. I watched your beginners video when I started my first playthrough of POE a couple of weeks ago, yesterday completed campaign and started my journey into mapping, the timing is perfect. Id tried this game in the past but could never get going, now I'm hooked at endgame....thanks for that 🤣
this will bring every new beginner player to enjoy this game. thanks for the easy and straightforward explanation of what needs to be done during mapping
Also for which maps to run, I think it’s important to mention that the maps are slightly different each league, some will be removed, switched with other maps from previous leagues and some will stay the same
Your videos are great because you’re relatively new to POE. I’ve tried to watch other beginner guides done by players who have been playing since day dot and they subconsciously slip into jargon and strategies that they think are beginner level but all they do is confuse the viewer. Whereas, your beginner guides have been refreshing because your basic premise is that the viewer knows nothing, which is the audience a beginner guide should be aimed at. Great work, please keep it up.
Thanks, great video. The part I'm struggling with now is how to manage the transition from 'alch and go' to more juicy stuff. I guess more alch and go until I'm rich and strong enough?
I forgot about Kirac ... I love your guides my man. You explain the basics without going "Yeah so, kill god a few dozen times and you have 1000 chaos :)" Worth gold this video.
Once again, thank you so much for this! Your videos have helped me immensely. I have been struggling with finding maps to run, and I do not have but I think 7 chaos orbs that I can use to buy maps, but did not think that was a good strategy. I was running maps I had already done trying to have connected ones drop that I needed. Your video showed me several ways all of these may already be available to me, and after starting this video yesterday, I have gained about 20 atlas points just from the information near the beginning of your video. After finishing it today, I know that I will be going back to reference it once I get to the near end of unlocking all the maps, but this has been an amazing help for me moving forward. I feel like I now know so much more about maps and am a lot more confident looking at the map stats and what I need to run. And I will be applying your strategy with POE RegEx as well once I get up there. Currently, I just make sure it doesn't have reflect on it and move forward without juicing just to unlock the maps as quickly as possible and progress up. This is allowing me to level up a bit quicker without dying, and still make some currency as I do so, at least to me. Again, thank you so much. I cannot wait to see more POE content from you, especially on trading, and I cannot wait to blast along following your info for D4 as well. And I may hop on to blast D3 as well. Keep it up, my friend, your content is nothing but an amazing help!
My second time playing and beating that game and according to the trophy percentage stat that in itself is apparently something to be proud of, your guide has made me understand the game on a whole new level much obliged from one newbie to another stay frosty exile Rax
Very excited to watch this tonight. I’m an OG, got the beta pack w the golden kiwi pet and played for 2-3 years at launch. Then watched from afar but never really got back into it. Watching you and DarthMicro get into POE has brought me back in. So much has been added and changed it feels like I’m basially a new player lol. So hyped for POE2.
So glad you’re doing this content . I haven’t watched this video yet but I know it’s going to be fire . My favorite streamer doing work as usual . Love you brother
Amazing guides - game was always too intense looking for me to get into even despite watching other beginner videos. These 2 videos have been excellent though and I actually started to get into this league starting to go through campaign now. I think if you do one more video which is centered on the different core League mechanics and how you use them during campaign/mapping - with those 3 videos I think it would be the absolute BEST beginner series. Thanks so much for taking time to make these videos - Subbed on YT and Twitch cant wait to see more content GJ
Great work Rax. I'm a noob in early maps and this was very helpful, as was the last one. No insult to the POE vets, but there videos are way too complicated. This is great because it is beginner friendly and easy to understand. Looking forward to the next ones.
recently started an no joke ur 2 guides helped alot bud ESO an black desert was my last mmo's I played this is just nuts but ur guides did exactly what you intended guide an understand the game thanks alot man
Rax, awesome guides man! Picked up Poe a week ago and just wish I had more time to play it. Love to see a crafting guide for weapons: confused as hell on what I can and can’t do and the correct order to do upgrades
Thank you Raxx! As a fellow new player I am happy you are doing these videos to help us late adopters out! I have played many ya ears of Diablo but had no idea a good way to start POE. Keep this series going!!
raxx, in xmbc you can bind config to the executable so you dont have to keep disengaging your mappings :) just create a profile and bind it to the game you want! awesome tutorial man, been watching you and your streams for years but recently picked up poe and keen for poe2 next month, thankyou for all that you do mate, your a welcome guest through our monitors any days of the week! hope the new place is good too!
Well done and thank you, Raxx!!!! The detailed explanations for map juicing and the regex section in particular were huge! I don’t always have a lot of time to just play, let alone sit there clicking a million times and reading a bunch of affixes. My mouse and wrist thank you too. I’m definitely looking forward to the beginner’s guide for trading!
Thanks to your beginner video I gave the game a second chance and now I'm level 84 and so hooked with the game.
Me too i learned from his chat 😂
Same story for me... I have played once till level 60 but it was too much stuff but with your vid... damn hours fly by so fast. So much more fun than D4. D4 was fun during leveling but the moment you hit ~90-100 its just so boring and harder to see meaningful progress.
That’s how it starts, and before you know you’ll be addicted. There is no escape. ‘Hi I’m Chris Wilson from grinding gear games’ owns you now.
@@devaryamadhukar8803 I enjoy being owned by that beautiful bastard :D
Same here. Keep on Raxx
I had the same issue when I started. Best approach is to just try them all and you will quickly learn which ones are your faves.
There so much I just focus on one mechanic at a time
Ive played every other league for the most part since synthesis (3.8) and my recommendation would be to try them all initially and see which mechanics you enjoy.
How do you disable the stash tab scrolling when you do ctrl+wheel?
EXACTLY!
I have gained alot. The style of presentation is great. Pacing is key. Some great Players make great informative vids, but the pacing of their speech is too fast to easily pick it up in one pass. Sometimes it needs a few listens in a section to catch nuances, and details. As if it is lacking punctuation!
Your guides are the reason I keep playing PoE, no one on internet explains the game as good and smooth as you, thank you
You had quite possibly the greatest intro to POE beginners luck newb mentorship in the history of PoE. I am so glad you clearly have thoroughly enjoyed the late game.
This video is exactly what I needed. Your beginners guide helped me get through the campaign but im struggling on maps. 😅
Thank you for actually explaining things, nothing is worse than a beginners guide that assumes you know almost everything already.
Raxx you beginner guides are FANTASTIC! Good stuff and I’m glad you are having fun in PoE 🎉
When i saw your first video about PoE i decide to give it a chance. As a veteran diablo player...this game is awsome, im a bit mad i didnt touch it earlier. Already have 85 lv char and having a lot of fun!!! Only if Diablo would be like this...
Thanks Rax
What's different other than more menus?
Thanks!
Really appreciate the time, effort, and knowledge!
A couple notes I had while watching:
- With regards to Kirac missions, they are a little weird in that his missions can give you a red map downgraded as a yellow or a white, for example. You can still get completion in this case, but you need to make sure it is rare and corrupted in his mission window. This is especially important if you are using explorer's scouting reports
- With regards to rolling sextants, you really want to take the atlas node that gives sextants +1 maximum use when you are rolling them; among other things, it significally affects the price you can sell them for
There is a difference between "completing" a map and bonus objective of a map.
Here a few tips
Raxx, I've been following you since D3 days, and NGL... You converted me to PoE ! Keep the good work going mate !
So always buy those.
ngl after 4k hours, i still learned something from this, even tho you believe you wont ^^ Great video raxx happy to see you enjoy PoE so much
As someone who has played off and on for a couple years, always finishing the campaign and getting lost on maps, this is HUGE!
Amazing content for this returner from 2013 👏🏻
What a in depth video man.
Ofc its 1 hour long but for someone who is new (like me) these tips are invaluable
I didnt know u can buy boss kills, definitely gonna do that once i have the respective quests for it
I wondered the whole time how to get scarabs sextants etc (even tho im not quite there yet still tryna progress through my atlas get netter gear etc) but now i know
Great explanations throughout the video helped me a ton especially the 1st video
But this one is a gem aswell, adds a lot more to the small picture and idea i had about the endgame
Much appreciated
Maps is amazing there’s so much variety, coming from D4 it really changes my standard for endgame content
Rax was born to explain these godly games keep it up. Tuning in everytime you make these guides
What an amazing guide. I've got to "end game" once and was overwhelmed by it all so quit. Time to start a new build with this new knowledge
So always running the highest tier maps you have is better for sustain in the long run
great series definitly keep making these guides. its extremly rare i actuslly sit and watch an hour long video, ADHD and all.
i used your first beginner video to start poe and just finished the campaign yesterday night. then you came out with this video today. perfect timing!
exact same for me
thanks Raxx for explaining all the ways of juicing maps that helped a lot
Just got into POE and loving your guides, it's nice to have it broken down without someone using to much poe lingo. The old creators of poe can get a little too enthusiastic on the beginner guides and they tend to lose me. Really loved the break down and pace.
Another random tip that veterans may not know/forget, if you ctrl+click a vendor it opens up the sell tab immediately, can save alot of time in the end
You have single handedly gotten me into PoE and I’m loving it! Thank you
Wow, your timing is impeccable.
RAX STOP PLEASE
D4 dissapointment made me play POE almost 10 years too late .. and it's amazing!
your vids actually get me going. thanks !
It’s just nice to see your calm and light approach towards a hard game.
Also for which maps to run, I think it’s important to mention that the maps are slightly different each league, some will be removed, switched with other maps from previous leagues and some will stay the same
love your Guides keep them going! A Boss guide next would be nice :)
This is so incredibly useful. Every other similar video assumes you already have so much knowledge but this is perfect.
Thanks, great video. The part I'm struggling with now is how to manage the transition from 'alch and go' to more juicy stuff. I guess more alch and go until I'm rich and strong enough?
I forgot about Kirac ... I love your guides my man. You explain the basics without going "Yeah so, kill god a few dozen times and you have 1000 chaos :)"
Worth gold this video.
Man, your beginner videos are soooo good and helpful, I rly enjoy them and can’t wait to give it a try in the upcoming season
Raxx you are a God. I've been playing for years and I didn't know half of this stuff! Incredibly helpful!!
Watched allot of vids. Nothing like this one. Thanks dude! And for the previous one. Bless you and have a good one

Love to see a crafting guide for weapons: confused as hell on what I can and can’t do and the correct order to do upgrades
i am not going to lie, this video has helped me where i have struggled while playing casually over 6 years... great work my guy
These two videos are great. Well done, truly. I decided to try the game for the 3rd time and it really helped me get into it. Keep it up!
Low on Alchemy Orbs? You can use Orbs of Binding on maps for the same function.
