The biggest problem for EVs is the range anxiety. My buddy has a Tesla Model 3, and he loves it.. right up until he has almost no charge left. Then he's scrambling to find a charging station, where he will have to wait... and wait... and wait.
As for me, I tow a race car to the race track. Some of the tracks that I go to are 200 to 250 miles from my house... and if the F150 Lightning can only tow for 90 miles before its longest range battery gives up the ghost, I have to add an hour to my already too long drive... plus I would have to unhook my trailer since most EV charging stations don't have room for a truck plus a trailer... yeah, no thanks. Towing already sucks, there's no need to add more suckage to the experience. They have to solve these issues before I would event consider buying one.

If Ford and GM actually do this I'm going to be crying myself to sleep every night.

We don’t need EVs we are better off with out them.

Why would you cry, do you like sitting at a refueling station for an hour?

😂Just buy a Tesla 2025! By then they will be better and cheaper than ICE. They will also last longer. GM and Ford EV are simply ICE cars with electric motors and batteries.
Also newer batteries can deal with low Temps.. and can be charged in minutes. Tesla, can build cars at least 8 times faster than legacy autos.

Instead of saying ICE, you may want to just say engine. We know all engines made in the past 100 years are internal combustion chamber. By the way, you mention they will last longer. Are you meaning they will last longer than a vehicle with an engine?

@@Olds_Pwr Yes, batteries and electric motors can outlast ICE engines easily. (There are steam engines) I never referred to engines as ICE, but lately I see it used a lot.

@@frederickreinking6655 When you say ICE engines, you are saying the word engines twice, as in Internal Combustion Engine Engine. I have engines that are 30 years old that have never been torn apart, are you saying that a battery pack out of a battery powered car can last that long?

@@Olds_Pwr Yes, this year new batteries can last a million miles, minus 20 % degradation, also work well in freezing temperatures and can be charged faster in colder temperatures than in warm temperatures. I also believe the advances in battery technology in the next five years is going to be impressive. One more thing batteries are going to get a lot cheaper, and the same for electric motors which can be manufactured with less labor. What we need is to move to "green energy" and stop burning fossil fuel or at a minimum a lot less. Batteries can also be recycled, and the metals (Cobalt, Magnesium, Lithium etc...) reused.

@@frederickreinking6655 Thank you for the information that I was not aware of. Hopefully the manufacture will warranty them for that amount miles.
