Great video! There are a couple extra things to note: Instead of 21C, you can do 2H and then one additional click, as a press and hold in the configuration menus registers as 10C. In the Turbo behaviour selected, another 2C after the first will jump up to 150/150, so you still have the option for all channels at 100% if you need it. Additionally, hitting 2C after ramping to the ceiling will jump to 150/150.
I did know about both these things. I’ve been trying to be more succinct in my videos, so I figured the detail about 1 click equaling 5 would take too much extra time. Not mentioning the 2C from top of ramp to get to 150/150 was purely oversight. I mentioned it in r/flashlights though!
I am a fan of Mkong1's Anduril firmware branch for dual channel lights. In particular, he added a 3rd stop in the channel switch that goes to both channels on (50/50) at whatever brightness you have it set. Without this add on you have to use smooth ramp to get both channels on at any output below turbo. His branch has the normal 3H from on to change channels but adds 4H to go to all emitters on at whatever output is selected. You can adjust the output as normal after the 4H. He also has some other cool tweaks like swapping the 3C bat check with the 4C lockout from off. I have especially found this fork usefull on my D4V2 with W2/lh351d 2700 which is something in-between a flood/throw and tint shift light. It is kind of a true 2 lights in one body but the middle setting is actually useful in blending temp and distance at lower output (for me at work anyway) I had posted a link to his discussion of the firmware fork on the /flashlight r3dd1t but the oveloards seem not to like that so my post was pulled. I'll just say that if you search on "mkong1 anduril middle setting" you will find the discussion and the github links for the firmware.
Michael Kong and I talk sometimes. He does phenomenal work. I just am always torn between staying stock and using an upgrade. I like to have that muscle memory for stock firmware in case I have to answer other people’s questions.
@@itachii267I did 219b 4500K and W2 because I like the wider throw and the 219b tint. Best thing about these is that we can pick almost whatever we like.

Thanks! This was very helpful when I was setting up my flashlight on the build it came with. I've been playing with the newest build (2023-08-07) and it seems the UI has changed for the D4K (Model Code 0135). 150/150 seems to be the max output for a single channel; going to 150/150 will keep only one channel on. You can instant switch channels in 2 different ways: Keeping the light in Tint Ramp Channel Mode and setting the style to Channel Toggle. Or disabling all channel modes except Channels 1 and 2. I prefer the former because I can also have 50/50 on and 3C will let me turn both channels on when I want. And 3H on Tint Ramp will allow me to instant switch between the 2.

took me a hot minute but I got it set up right now....with this setting though is there still an easy way to get to the turbo with both channels. Great video, I received my second w1/lh351d last week, the lh351d are 3500k, with a diffuser it makes a nice camping lantern (I have a few blflt1s) You should start thinking about producing a diffuser.
A video showing how to reduce the floor and then increase the stepped ramping modes would be a good guide. I’m currently trying to add a total of 10 steps but seem to have created a total of 19 on my first try, I reset the torch and then just added three but it seemed to just set it to three levels. I do extended 11 night camping trips so I like to know what my power consumption is ( I test the run times at a particular level for an hour and then check the remaining voltage / battery %). My main power sources are lithium phosphate packs which then get used to recharge 26650s etc.
IS there an update to the dual channel lights. I do this and both lights I have still want to use both turbos when I click twice for turbo. The light gets got quickly as well. Just wondering if there has been a change.
Ugh! Just got a dual channel d4v2 last week. Have followed these instructions at least 50 times. Fir the life of me, I can not get instant switch. Just goes to turbo. Super frustrating.
Anduril might have changed since I made this video. I’m sorry if this video isn’t compatible any more. That’s one of the frustrating things about Anduril for me, it’s a moving target.

Since you’re setting up the ceiling on a completely different flashlight than the dual channel Emissar D2 and the two lights are different. Do I also have to set up the ceiling on this one since I’m just trying to do one simple thing and that’s make it so that the UV does not come on when I have the other channel on?

So I got it so the warm light channel comes on by itself and it is in ramping mode which is fine but how do I get the UV to turn on at all but separately??? 😂 You need a PHD to do this. It’s my first Anduril so I’m a bit confused

My d4sv2 doesn't make it to the 4th flash during the On -> 10H -> 4F -> 2C program.. It will flash 3 times and then the whole light shuts off until I let go. Then it ends up on a high or turbo of sorts..

You don't need to set both channels, in fact I don't think you can set them individually. I think what's happening with your light is when you 2C from anywhere below the ceiling, the light goes to ceiling and two emitters are on. When you ramp up to ceiling and 2C from ceiling, the light goes to turbo with 4 emitters on.
I got the small D2 double emitter with the UV and trying to make it so both don’t come on at the same time. ㅇㅐ my gosh. It’s challenging. 😂 Do I have to go through all these steps???
So I got it to work but now the slow ramp doesn't function, i can switch the the fast ramp up/ down but the hold to go slow doesn't work anymore. Did i do something wrong?
One of my biggest gripes about anduril is that it changes too fast, and there are too many incremental versions floating around. It could very well be that my video is out of date or that you miss licked somewhere. If you want to perform a factory reset and try again, hold the button while engaging the tail cap. Wait for the strobe to ramp and flash.
Thanks for this. I really like this setup, but it’s noticeably slower when I’m in smooth ramping, so I switched to stepped ramping instead. Any way I can speed up smooth ramping?
Hi Cheule! I have a D4K dual channel 519A 3500k + W1 Is this setup works for D4K? Because i had tried many times but still can't change instant switching step. When i do 2H it's always ramping to the floor and stop from it. I don't know that if my D4K has any problem, but when i am in simple mode, i still can use functions in 3H menu, can change RGB aux color/style. Please reply, i would really appreciate it!
Very good info. And very easy to understand. However, when I’m dog walking at night, I like the option of having all emitters on max with 2C. I’m usually walking with my dual channel light(s) in flood (lh351d) at fairly low brightness. We have coyotes and deer pass through our yard a lot a night, so when I hear a noise while walking at night, I want to light it up with full power (lh351d and w1). I guess I don’t understand the application or reason to keep the dual channel light from max 2 channel output on demand. Can’t I accomplish the same thing as you by simply pressing and holding to get max brightness on one channel? Then if I want even more light, a quick 2C brings up both channels on high power.
So you’ve set it up like the first version of anduril tint ramping? I have the original version and this is how it works. Double click is full brightness of one channel only.

If I set my light up like this and ramp all the way up . Is the top of the ramp actually TURBO which is 150 out of 150. Because when I double tap to TURBO it seems the same brightness as the high ramp. Thanks
Top of ramp is the full 9A or “turbo” if you will. The set up here allows you to get to 100% on the channel without slowly ramping up (and a double tap again sends you back to the previous level). If you ramp to the top anyhow, THEN double tap, you get 200% mode, or both channels to 100%.
With dual channel, 130/150 is 100% or maximum brightness. Ever step higher is 5% to the other channel. So 131/150 is 100% plus 5% on the other channel. So 140/150 is 100% + 50 %
If I run the 150/150 ceiling setting, will there be a difference when I turbo from one channel or the other? So for example, the turbo on channel one will be run at 130 and the second at 20(*5=100), and then switching the active channel and going to turbo will make the channel 2 run at 130 power and channel 1 at 20(*5=100). Is this correct?
How can I make my D2 switch from channel 1 to channel 2 and vice versa only? When I triple-click to switch from channel 1 to channel 2, then triple-click to go back to channel 1, my D2 will go into channel 1+2 three times before switching back to channel 1. There are no videos or anything specifically about that for the D2. If you can help me, I would really appreciate it. By the way, I have two D2. Both have on channel 1 519A 3500K and channel 2 are SST-20 Deep Red and UV.
I have the same issue with my newly received DS4V2. 3C cycles through 5 different setting, CH1, CH2, CH1+2 x 3 (the middle of which allows for tint ramping - I don't what the difference is between the 3rd and the 5th setting🤷). I would like to get rid of all except the first two

@@EdingardSIGMA where could i look for it? I just email to Hank this morning, he said the firmware on my D4K is the newest. That allow you to use functions like advanced mode but in simple mode. I don't really need it at all
i tried this a dozen times but the last step wont work to get the single channel turbo. does having the kr4 driver have something to do with it? should i reset and start all over? when im on a single channel and double click, all 4 lights turn on to turbo.

They come standard in full RGB as part of the “V2” upgrade.

Anduril is kind of messy to be sure! I have started shying away from it as of late as well.

You probably have a different version of the firmware. That’s one of the biggest strengths (and weaknesses) to Anduril. It’s always changing.

Is yours a dual channel driver? It’s a special order from Hank. The optic will change the look of the beam, but won’t enable channel switching.

almost perfect edc flashlight... but do i need to order additional floody optic as well?
Wouldn't, just use D-C Fix or sand lightly the optics above the flood emitters.

Top of ramp is the full 9A or “turbo” if you will. The set up here allows you to get to 100% on the channel without slowly ramping up (and a double tap again sends you back to the previous level). If you ramp to the top anyhow, THEN double tap, you get 200% mode, or both channels to 100%.

You say maximum brightness on each channel . What does maximum brightness mean ? 150 out of 150 or what ?

With dual channel, 130/150 is 100% or maximum brightness. Ever step higher is 5% to the other channel. So 131/150 is 100% plus 5% on the other channel. So 140/150 is 100% + 50 %
If I run the 150/150 ceiling setting, will there be a difference when I turbo from one channel or the other? So for example, the turbo on channel one will be run at 130 and the second at 20(*5=100), and then switching the active channel and going to turbo will make the channel 2 run at 130 power and channel 1 at 20(*5=100). Is this correct?
How can I make my D2 switch from channel 1 to channel 2 and vice versa only?
When I triple-click to switch from channel 1 to channel 2, then triple-click to go back to channel 1, my D2 will go into channel 1+2 three times before switching back to channel 1.
There are no videos or anything specifically about that for the D2.
If you can help me, I would really appreciate it.
By the way, I have two D2. Both have on channel 1 519A 3500K and channel 2 are SST-20 Deep Red and UV.
I have the same issue with my newly received DS4V2. 3C cycles through 5 different setting, CH1, CH2, CH1+2 x 3 (the middle of which allows for tint ramping - I don't what the difference is between the 3rd and the 5th setting🤷). I would like to get rid of all except the first two

@@EdingardSIGMA where could i look for it? I just email to Hank this morning, he said the firmware on my D4K is the newest. That allow you to use functions like advanced mode but in simple mode. I don't really need it at all
i tried this a dozen times but the last step wont work to get the single channel turbo. does having the kr4 driver have something to do with it? should i reset and start all over? when im on a single channel and double click, all 4 lights turn on to turbo.
Do you have a dual channel light? You said KR4 channel, so that makes me think you have a single channel light with 4 emitters that are the same type.
@@cheule Hi! yes i do i was able to get them on seperately but i just cant get them to turbo on each channel without all 4 turning on. the last step doesnt seem to work for me.

Same thing happened to me. This one additional step fixed my issue:
Set Turbo Style to No Turbo: From ON, 10H, let it flash 4 times
@@aaronxpkI just followed you’re steps and it worked. But now both channels can go to turbo just ramping the light up, without double clicking for turbo? Also how do I now mix both channels together if I wanted to. With this video he says in high setting press double click for both channel to turn on. Since I followed you’re steps as the last step of this video didn’t work for me, how do I do this? Thanks
