Hi Sasha, your video is just what I need, but what brand is your low-tack double-sided tape and/or where did you get it? I wanted to try your method straight away so I went to Rymans and got Sellotape double-sided, which is the same width as yours. I haven't done the whole process yet so I don't know if it's a problem being (possibly) too sticky, it may be fine but can you say what you used? Thanks!

MISS SEED thanks for your feedback in regards to the low rack dst I buy mine from hoobycraft otherwise Dannells (lampshade kit supplier) sell online. It’s always worth sampling on a scrap piece of fabric before hand as some fabrics it really likes to stick too and will not come off ie velvet. Also a good tip is don’t leave it on too long as again it can cause it to adhere more. Hope that helps

MISS SEED I buy mine from Hobbycraft 12mm tape £1 a roll. It’s low tack, I wouldn’t recommend this on velvet fabrics as it doesn’t come off, also try to avoid leaving on for long as it will begin to cure and then be difficult to remove. Hope that’s helpful

Hi sasha, please can you explain to me how you cut the two pieces or did you buy two separate pieces. What I mean is when I buy floral fabric and want to match for a dress. how I can get the patterns even. do I cut the length of fabric in two at what length.

Mary Sinclair I cant see a reply here. When you buy fabric it is usually bought as one long piece in metres in the UK. You lay out where you want your first cut to be, perhaps ensuring your main pattern is complete and placed where you want it. The floor is often a good place to work if you don’t have enough flat table space. Lay fabric on floor. Lay out alongside it another length of fabric. Before you cut it off the main bolt, line up the patterns approximately, remembering you need headers and hems. Accept that you will lose some fabric due to the size of the pattern match. Then cut it and do the same for all lengths required. Quite often a curtain has two widths of fabric, four for a pair. Excess fabric can be used for making tie backs perhaps. I hope that helps.
