    I knew my hoarding tendencies would one day be rewarded. 😂 Love this. I've actually just found an old bag of scraps that I'm turning into "fancy fabric". Hope mine comes out as good as yours 🤞

    Love, love, love this information. I have had the idea of making my own fabric from all my bits and pieces, but unable to come up with an effective means that I was happy with. I found people glueing layers of fabric and paper together, but it is not functional to wear or work with after the fact. Now I want to find some nice old fashion lace/trim to add to what I have, and start creating. Thank you so much for sharing this skill set with me. Guess I will get some practice at sewing with the feed dogs down. I will have to check and see if you have tips on that also. You made my day!

    Hi Julia, you are an inspiring artist. I have scads-4 laundry baskets FULL of vintage hand stitched doilies, table cloths, dresser scarves etc. I haven't known what on earth to do w/them. All that work my great grandmother did. I have donated some. I will try this method, I do make quilts, pillows, clothes & cards. Do you find that this process will ravel later if washed on a quilt say? I'd hate to give as a gift then have issues. I'll have bits of lace & embroidered pieces for decades LOL

    do you need to use a embroidery foot for this or would a regular foot work?

    • @stitchesbyjulia
      @stitchesbyjulia  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, Yes regular stitching would work too. Add a lot of stitching to keep everything in place. If you have decorative stitches on your machine, use those too. Thanks for watching, Julia

    Loved your video and the diversity in how you used the fabric you created. Nice camera footage that showed exactly what you were doing. Thank you so much.

    What do you do with your new fabric?

    • @stitchesbyjulia
      @stitchesbyjulia  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi, I mainly use the new fabric for embellishments on clothing, pillows or wall hangings. I make jewelry with it also. I do show some pictures at the end of the video. Thanks for watching. Julia

    Have you ever used a felting machine for this?

    • @stitchesbyjulia
      @stitchesbyjulia  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, I use a felting machine when I’m using rovings, felts and yarns but not on cotton fabrics.
