I would love to hear a song from your culture that you love as much as I love this

Just Beautiful, I think this is my favourite song. And the McPeake family do a grand job of presenting it in all it's wild idiosyncratic beauty.

Wow! This video is incredible! I'm half Mexican and half Peruvian, born and raised in Los Angeles, but my heart seems to be Irish because I love Gaelic/Celtic culture. I love the music especially and this song speaks to the depths of my heart. Thank you for sharing this!

Kathleen and family used to stay with my family in the north east of England on their visits in the early 60's. She would sing this and Grandfather would do bucket of the mountain dew. Doesn't get any better than this.

So beautiful and touching... I'm from a totally different culture (Brazil), but this song has no boundaries. It actually brought new feelings to my heart.
Thank you so much for posting

Bob Dylan sang in in concert at least once.
    It’s on a bootleg album.
Made a bit of a hash of it but his heart was in the right place.
There is an amateur film clip of it here on TH-cam.

    When, like the dawning day
    Eileen Aroon
    Love sends his early ray
    Eileen Aroon
    What makes his dawning glow
    Changeless through joy and woe
    Only the constant know
    Eileen Aroon
    etc.

@gilyat I have that LP. Most of the songs are now available for MP3 on Amazon. The only one I think that's missing is "A Maid going to Comber" or "Next Market Day" (same song, not sure which name they used). That was one of the best folk albums ever.

I wish I could but if Francis McPeake said it can't.....(and he spoke both languages)....now if it was Cymraeg (Welsh) I could give it a try!
Thanks for watching - all the best; Alan.

Can someone write out the lyrics in Irish? I'm having a hard time understanding her, but the words sound different from the version I learned (phonetically), though the tune is very much the same.
