Phil You are a proper bloke on a proper tractor !! I remember my uncle buying a MF35 or was it a 135, in the late 60's to replace his ageing Grey Diesel MF which had done him proud for many years.. He employed from time to time a retired ex Canadian Mounted policeman, called Charlie, who was very disciplined and militaristic - He used to put a quart of oil in the Grey Fergie every day before ploughing, because it was burning so much oil - the oil was applied each day, with military precision. Some time later the Grey Fergie was replaced with a nearly new Red Ferguson 35/135 - and this replaced the old grey Ferguson. To my uncle's horror, the new tractor started to leak oil in a big way it had done very few hours - but was leaking oil from every orifice! Only after pulling out much of his hair did he realise that the problem lay with his man Charlie - He was continuing his routine of adding a quart of oil to the engine each day before ploughing !!! - Happy Days !

Great to see the 35 out and about. It might be old fashioned but the finger bar mower gets the job done rightly.

hows things with the 135? last we saw it was in the workshop getting a few jobs done. if the roof was fixed would it not be ideal for these jobs, no need to bring the brolly?

That was a great video. Phil Why don't you use the sickle bar mower in between the fruit tree's. You should weld a little metal tube with a pin across the bottom to let any water out on the back of the seat of the tractor to put the umbrella in. It would be nice to have on sunny hot day along with rainy days. They make a 6' wide with a 7 1/2' aluminum pole with a 1 3/8" diameter for 70 bucks you could pop it in and out as needed.

Great video, the 35 like the 20 and 135 are timeless, simple, economical, handy and worth their weight in gold. The 35 3 cylinder would be 1960 to 1962 approximately. Keep up the good work.

Ragwort or Buachalán in our part of the world. When that 35 was in it youth We used pull the Buachalán by hand removing the root as well, a hateful job but a bit easier if the ground was soft, like these days...😢😢. IIRC if the land was grazed by sheep in the spring time they would eat the emerging plant, I think it isn't toxic to sheep like it like it is to cattle?

I would personally invest in a bigger mower for the 35, when I had my 35 I ran a 8ft McConnell mower and it was perfect, even though you rarely use the 35 for mowing an 8ft could be run behind the 6290 or the 3080

Never thought to use hay for the seat, had a heavy pillow, sold my two to a collector, one was only suitable for parts, sold for the same price I paid, sold the mower separately, so made a few hundred more, but used it for 10 years. It was petrol, used it to mow my large lawns. Replaced with a 2nd ride on mower, just replaced that, now a tin of petrol lasts for several mows not one.

As a kid I worked on a farm with three Tractors a Massy 35 , a Fiat 780 , and a Zetor , during hay making The Fiat went in for a service so we put the Bailer on the Zetor it wouldn't turn it over, so we put it on the 35 no problem didn't miss a beat , the Bailer was usually hooked up to the Fiat . Massy 35s are brilliant tractors.
