  • In todays video, it's now or never and we have to get the spring beans in for 2023. The weather has not been on our side this march, with rain nearly every day this month it was time to bite the bullet and get the beans in. Not what we had planned for getting the beans in the ground and far from ideal but at this point are only option!
    Hope you enjoy, any questions hit me down in the comments below, thanks for watching! G'Luck

    I’ve planted beans like that before straight into stubble as a cover crop, and we were amazed at how well it worked.

    I was going to say why not drill them in, then you answered that question later in the film. I plant my broad beans in February, a similar crop and at least twice the depth recommended, seems to keep them out of reach of those pesky crows and partially protected from the frosts.

    The 7618 is doing fine, but you should consider tuning it, becomes a total different tractor. Got 215hp in our 2012 7480, same engine as in the 7618 :) Doing a difference in how thirsty the girl gets as well :)

  • @Andy-ix2ox
    @Andy-ix2ox ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Listen lad it’s not that you had a lot of options or time to do anything different, in fairness the field looked pretty good it was time to get it sowed, as things have turned out you were steeped that you got stuck in and got them in cause if it has been half as wet with you as it has been with us since you sowed the beans there isn’t a hope of getting any field work done in the foreseeable, best of luck with the crop.

    Would it be fair to say you’d need the bigger frame tractor likes of your 6499/7720 for a set of harrows like that on steep land or would the 18s or a 6480 handle them ok?

  • @eoinmchugh5324
    @eoinmchugh5324 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    Good video Phil. If the 6499 was too heavy for the disc then why was it on the fertiliser spreader in advance of the the harrow. She was still travelling on the ploughed ground.

      I run at a slight angle to the tracks left by the 99 and could fill them in handy but when’s it’s on the Harrow on ploughed ground it can’t level the bit in the middle into the wheel tracks without dragging clay
