In short you're sacrificing Field of view for a larger image and a boost in your FPS This setting is not for everyone but im used to it as i come from CSGO. Make sure to mess with it in ofline before playing with it
I barely saw any improvement in FPS, did test it in offline but frames were similar, some maps no gain, some +5, customs +30. also noticed you can skip all the nvidia panel stuff if you just set game to fullscreen with 4:3 using a 4:3 res as it automatically renders it as such. setting fullscreen in nvidia with a custom res allows borderless to be used though. all in all was expecting more frames and I do like the look of the stretched image but the inventory + overlays / UI look terrible that I can't switch from 16:9 even though I play r6s and cs on 4:3
i selected 1920x1080 (16:9) and selected 4:3 in the aspect ratio tab right under it, and it seems to work it is stretched and looks 1080p, why do i see tutorials creating custom resolutions?
The aspect ratio setting in-game only changes your fov, it works but your game is still running on 1920x1080 regardless the aspect ratio you chose creating a custom resolution will essentially do the same thing with the plus of giving you a boost in your FPS's
@@1swagg Ah i see, thanks, i will keep the 1920x1080p resolution cause clarity is very important and i'm not good at spotting people + TAA is messed up for some reason
for some reason when I change the resolution to 1440x1920 in 4:3 ratio, ingame it doesnt let me swithc between 1920x1080 and 1440x1080 it always stay on 1440x1080 in 4:3
To switch back to your default res you need to change the 4:3 resolution back to normal in the NVIDIA Control panel. If you want to compare both settings I'd recommend to take some screenshots/clips before switching

Ive been playing in 4:3 without the native change and changing my native litterally doubled my fps. Thanks so much bro

My ui and menu look normal with 4:3, same as 16:9
Thanks alot for the vid i love 4:3 since cs days
love your background
whimsical fella wallpaper 🗿
WOWWWW, GREAT vid, thanks very much!! I didnt see another vid where ppl explain how it affects FPS performance!

Thanks for the guide :>
You might need to change mouse settiungs as well
so using 4:3 aspect ratio in game but native res looks the same as the custom resolution?
but the custom res gives more performance is that correct?

Thanks mate!@@1swagg
Damn gonna test it out because my pc is not that good and I can't play on streets at all
it changes on your whole pc right?
Yup, if you change it only in-game, it'll still render your native res for some funky reason.
Giving you a 4:3 but not improving your FPS
Nice vid brother
Me playing in 43:18 3440x1440:😮
why not just use FSR or DLSS?
DLSS gives me Ghost trails and a feeling of input lag. I Dont really know why but turning it off works best for me
1:1🤤
Any way to do this on a laptop? (I’m not using another monitor so I don’t have those nividia settings)
pretty sure if you have an amd laptop you can do the same
