- I stayed at a budget capsule hotel in modern Jakarta, Indonesia! for only $10.00 USD I was able to rent a king sized capsule at Bobobox pods, a capsule company conveniently located inside of one of Jakarta's many malls. If you are trying to save some cash this is a decent place to do it.
You can control it with your phone, how cool is that. After I inspected the capsule and had a good nights sleep, I also enjoyed some nice mall food and drinks before setting out again.

Dude, this is literally the greatest place to stay if you ever visited Jakarta because of how decent and cheap it is. Especially if you don't bother spending too much time indoor, just drop in, sleep, get out. 10$ A night, what a deal.

I stayed here when I had visa interview with Swedish embassy. Amazing budget capsule hotel. Near many embassies, near malls, also behind the mall building there are many options for street food and Warteg :) one of the best place budget friendly to stay in Jakarta!

Quick tip: the "-tion" at the end of words gets replaced by "-si" in Indonesian. Like instead of reservation, it's reservasi

Yep! Because most of our vocabulary came from Dutch, then we modified the spelling to fit ours.
I think this should be the standard for capsule hotels, instead of the cramped pods we usually see. Plus, for $10 a night? It's probably the same rate as renting a bedroom in the area.

Yea much better and it's in a good location (the Kuningan mall complex (City, Ambassador, and ITC). You can walk a bit and you're already in Lotte Shopping Avenue as well. Rather than renting the OYO / RedDoorz which is usually on alleys and is a bit further from the hub.

Theres a lot of capsule hotel recently in indonesia but i would say bobobox is the best option you can choose... its really comfy

Super cheap hotel? Wow? Did you do all this research before you got on the road or as you travel? The mall's huge and looks super tall. The look up is like looking up to the skies. That's kind of cool you have to take off your shoes before going to your room. Nice room considering it's so cheap and all you need is a place with some utilities and still you get a king-sized bed. Mood lighting. How cool. Ten bucks! Awesome. So check in time is what? And checkout time? Firm beds taking get used too. I love the way ya got into the hotel so quickly and checking out is just as efficient. Two dollars for a chicken steak? Cheap. Hope it's good. Juice bars too. And you have this for breakfast? Have a great day!
It certainly is a good bargain, and I don't need much when it's just me. the no shoes thing keeps it very clean in the little pod area. Checkout is noon, check in 2 pm. The food and juice were delicious, but there are probably better breakfast options out there haha
One of the most lofty and cozy hotels are bobobox! one of them in bandung is pretty nice and the morning breeze is suitable because its cool in bandung!

Bobobox (Pod) Hotel, had stayed there for a few hours because I couldn't book a room in Gambir's transit hotel (it was full). It's quite nice & comfy with cheaper price, the bathroom & toilet is shared but equiped with bidet, would love to stay there properly for a day or two.
i love seeing people try out my country and whats in it it's interesting for them and interesting for me to see their opinions
I have claustrophobia..I don't think I can sleep there 😁😁 but one thing that I like from this bobibox is,it's in a mall where you can get everything u need.. ambassador mall is an old mall and you can get cheap things there..from clothes to foods even dentist and massage 👍🏼😁

Have never stay in bobobox but my friend said, the lower capsule room has lower ceiling so it is probably smaller than the upper one (the one you got). I should probably try one day
I have another recommendation sir. Bobo Cabin. its same like bobobox and one company but the different is bobocabin in forest. and its really good. Hoping next time u try👍
Its a good place to sleep for couple of days and also very clean compared to other bedroom choices

oohh!! these r p cool! i remember staying here when i went to yogyakarta, there's one in malioboro. it's smaller (the dining room etc) than the one shown in the vid , but from my experience for yogyakarta's bobobox:
the room is very comfy (same size as the one shown in the vid)! but unfortunately hmm the comfort also depends on the ppl staying too, when i stayed there, the shared bathroom got p yucky most of the times, and also if you're not rlly good w A/C or cold temperature it can get cold.
if you got the bottom room thou, you can kinda hear harsh movements from the top room hshs sooo i always took the upper room.

My apartment is in area just across the street from the mall (mega kuningan area).
Ambas is well known for all things compie. I have friends that chose to take their laptop or macbooks here rather than to authorized service centre because of faster and much cheaper and sometimes, better than authorized ones (apple stuffs especially cos sometimes they need to be sent to SG and can take weeks).
In 4th floor there is food court where you can try food.
Famous stalls (so you dont need to go to their original ones) include:
1. Nasi uduk kebon sirih
2. Maimo manado food
3. Sari Ratu padang food
4. Fish soup Sop Ikan Batam
Others..
There is also a killer cafe (i cant remember the name) just across the food court. A great coffee from around Indonesia.

The fact you found the place on Agoda (idk if you got recommended by someone) by just $10..... ON Jakarta is actually insane. Especially with all the quality you reviewed, its actually worth it when you need a place to stay just for a night before moving on again.

This isn't too claustrophobic like some other sleeping pods I've seen. You have place to actually standing and some kind of window
For another Rp100k/night, you can go to Ambassador Residence near there. You get full sized room, private bathroom, and a large ish parking lot that doubles as a jogging yard with resort vibe.

Jakarta has changed a bit since I was there in 2004 when accommodation was pretty grotty. I got eaten by bed bugs where I stayed!
