Metaphor is not only my Game of the Year, but also one of the greatest games i have ever played. The story, the characters, the insane lore, the combat depth, the music etc etc. 10/10
Love the new thumbnail style! I have wanted to get into old school Dragon Quest for a super long time but have been a little intimidated by them. I just got a steam deck and would love to win the game because you’ve sold me on it!

Unicorn Overlord (2 and 3 could be switched. they are very impressive games and I love them a lot) 1. Metaphor ReFantazio Visions of Mana is juuust missing this list. also I would love to win DQIII because I love Dragon Quest and I haven't gotten to play it yet!

I haven't heard anyone talk about Romancing Saga 2 either. So this was pretty cool to listen to. With full disclosure, Dragon Quest III looks so aesthetically pleasing to me. After playing Triangle Strategy, I've been hooked on the art style. More than that, the DQ games are so beloved too. I want to learn why that is the case. I hope I can play it sometime soon. Seeing Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth on this list is so cathartic. I began playing the Yakuza games this year, because I wanted to try Infinite Wealth... And I can't believe I didn't try them sooner. It's so much to get through, but the newest game deserves all its acclaim. I would've put it a little higher, but I'm biased now. Lol. I'd love the chance to play Dragon Quest III Remake! Dragon Quest VII was my first JRPG experience ever, and I've been a fan of the genre since. Being able to be a kid again and to revisit this series would be amazing.
This is such a good list. Seeing that you ranked Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth so high on it, I can't wait for it to come to Steam now. I never got to play it yet, since I don't own a PlayStation 5. Dragon Quest III's art style is so charming to me! Plus, I hear its story is one to remember, according to all my friends. I hope I get to play it sometime soon. It's at the top of my wish list. I'm playing through Metaphor: ReFantazio right now, and I agree. It's such an incredible story to play through. I haven't been this engrossed by a game in so long. Great video. You earned my subscription. Thank you for the chance to play Dragon Quest III Remake too! I wanted to try the original, but I was worried it would feel dated. Seeing the art revamped with tons of quality of life upgrades in the remake makes me want to jump into it. I think it'd look great on the go with a Steam Deck.
I definitely can say i enjoyed just about all the games on your list. The one i enjoyed the most is the one i was most apprehensive to buy. Visions of Mana. I didn't buy it right away because i didn't like how Val looked. I decided to try it. It's just a fun game, that really didn't frustrate me at times like the others. Its my favorite this year simply because of how i felt while playing the game.

ATLUS is really winning this year with all of its releases. SMT V: Vengeance, Persona 3 Reload, Metaphor: ReFantazio... With a lineup like that, JRPG fans are eating well! I do not own DQ3 remake yet but it is on my list. I have only played DQ11 and Treasures. I feel in love with DQ11 though and even went for the 100% on it. It ignited my interest into the series and with the HD remakes coming out I can’t wait to get to explore them as well.

I'd love DQ3 because I didn't play the DQ games until recently, it was actually Yakuza: Like a Dragon that put me on to DQ because of how much Ichiban loves it. While I would love to get a free copy of DQ3, I was able to pick up some great games on the Black Friday / Cyber Monday sales. So I hope the copy goes to someone who doesn't have the budget to get it currently, and can really appreciate it. Also it has to be FF7 Rebirth. I played the heck out of it as well as Metaphor Refantazio. Metaphor is solid as heck, but let's be real it doesn't have anywhere near the emotional impact that FF7 has.
Whenever is see footage of the mana games gameplay I also think of ys8 and that’s not a bad thing at all as I enjoyed the general pacing of that game at least in comparison to other games I had been playing around the time

Any list that skips over Daybreak and Ys 10 is worthless, in my opinion. I played a lot of the games on this list this year, and Daybreak and Ys 10 were better than all of them.

Rebirth is amazing the number 1 spot could go either way for me on any given day. Both are incredible!
Don’t lie. Metaphor has a much deeper and more coherent story than 7R.
At least it’s a complete story and has actual lore.
