    Hey, shoutout to including a handful of really interesting looking games that I actually hadn't seen anything about! Usually, these kinds of videos only show stuff that i feel like everyone's at least heard of and is on my radar

    I’m so glad to see dream tactics getting on all these lists. I got it and it ticked a lot of boxes for me from the announcement but was so well done yes it’s a little silly but it’s a great combination of srpg and deck builder.

    Well edited video, signature Taylor narration, nice gameplay clips and an overall solid list of 10 video games i will never play haha.

    Oh dude, thanks for reminding me again of Echo Generation! That whole 80s/90s aesthetic is right up my alley, I'm a sucker for that whole concept of kids exploring the neighbourhood after school stuff. I'll definitely have to check out some of the other games on this list as well!

      Yeah it's a shame it didn't get a lot of love, but I think you’ll dig it.

    Dream Tactics was very fun yeah. I want to say it was loosely inspired from Rad Codex games, which are all solid open world tactics games in themselves, but if not then its hard to not see it with how fluid the exploration is while running into groups of enemies.
    Unless you're on normal it can be very difficult at times since its 4 vs many and losing even 1 of your allies makes the fight so much harder, but aside from a couple of battles including the final one, i didn't run into much progression issues. And the battle theme forever lives on in my brain 🤣
    As for games this year, its not out yet but I'm kind of looking forward to Tokyo Clanpool coming out Dec19th, which i guess is an older vita port that was jp only but nice to see it localized and ported. There weren't really any 1st person dungeon crawlers so interesting to see how this one is.

    at 17:20 What I find fascinating about Echo Generation is that it uses a Voxel Art style that I often forget exists which is Refreshing. I Often find that many video games Especially JRPGS, from what I've seen currently don't use this art style that much, even compared to the Low Poly Aesthetic.

    I wanna recommend Reverse Collapse Codename Bakery I think, if I'm not mistaken it's a spin-off game of the Girls' Frontlines game, that is a strategy, chibi style, with visual novels cutscenes that is worth exploring, I'm taking my time, but I have over 40 hours on it and really like it

    This was a really good selection. I was aware of them all but certainly hadn't played them all! I wish the ones that were only on PC would get console releases, but I guess I can't count on Feldivek coming to console. :P I had actually heard of it, though, and it was on my Steam wishlist!

    Flowstone Saga looks cool, too bad it's not on playstation. And I understand a game paying homage, but I prefer third person combat so 8-Bit Adventures isn't too appealing.

      I did play 8-bit adventures 2 and it's a really good j-rpg. The story is good and the party member dynamic is one of the best I played (like top 10).

    I absolutely, one hundred percent disagree that bloomtown is a “gem” in any way, shape or form. Time management is broken (no deadlines, can grind for stats endlessly during dailty life segment), combat is ass (low hit rate, random “one more” system, bosses immune to most strategies), story is written by chatgpt and nearly every other game mechanic is severely underdeveloped. You couldn’t even *manualy save* until recently!

    Haven't watched the video yet, just wanted to chime in and comment on the title of the video. The usual TH-cam routine is, "Here is something YOU DO NOT know about or HAVEN'T watched" this hard statement that the viewer is completely ignorant of the content. Then, while it may some somewhat obscure thing (in this case JRPG games), it's always very insulting to me to be told before watching I don't know about it. Hey pal, what if I do? How about that? Your title told me I didn't know, and turns out -- I knew.
    Here? It's a softer statement. Some video games you **probably** missed. Not that you missed it. Just that most people probably were not aware of them. Now? Now I'm not insulted, especially if I knew many of them or not. I can appreciate that and now I can watch this video unfettered by annoyance of being told I'm ignorant of some subject whether I actually am or not.

    • @patron7906
      @patron7906 7 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Having now watched the video -- there were some obscure ones, that's for sure. I was aware of four of them though, I even own Terra Whatiscalled, although it's sitting collecting dust on my backlog. It was recently on sale for like 50% off or something, which I think was like $10 so yeah, grab that and hopefully someday I'll actually play it.
