Me and my brother bought a nice Pete last year. We haven't put it to work. Can't make any money.
Last yr was like this yr. What were your thought processes during this time last yr
You have to remember that most of the people in the United States do not pay taxes. The fact that the employer pays the tax eliminates the feeling of taking the hit of taxes. Taxes, for most people, is filling out one side of a sheet of 8 1/2 x 11 paper, about 12 lines, and getting free money in April. Get rid of withholding and make everybody actually write a check or transfer money from their bank account, and watch how fast things change
I have to pinch pennies Dave. I'll sit for couple days no loads so I can get one that doesn't end with negative revenue.
Park the truck hoss. Take up another profession while paying your insurance to keep your mc.
Thank you sir I started in 1975. It was a great time in trucking ❤
Hi Dave- I've Been A Truck Driver Over 24 Years And I Came Close To Taking The Leap As An Owner Operator- Sure Grateful I Never Did- Especially Now. Love Your Channel- Thank You For The Insights And Sharing Of Your Invaluable Experience And Knowledge.🍻
I'm barely scrapping by. I run otr n im averaging around 2.10 a mile. It's sad
Park that truck and get another jon bubs. Stop being an idiot
Thank. You for. Your. Time. On. The. Road. ! And the. Info
Hi Dave I am a company driver and we've been having issues with other companies from California come down and take away our jobs I am a tanker driver and yes everything has gotten so complicated with applications elds not able to make money so just voicing my concern I got four more years to retire so I'm just trying to hang in there thank you so much for speaking to us you make a lot of sense thanks again
i am a 45 year driver /O/O . i have been trying to train my 29 year old son , but the insurance companys make it inposssible to train him because of ins cost . when i add my son on the ins my rates triple
Dozer operators work more then 8 hrs a day and alot of the time you are out of town so you don't get to go home for many days
The more, new, no experience truck drivers that are trained, and put on the road, which started in the 90's, is what brought on Big Safety push leading to fmcsa. It was probably all developed by the Big Trucking companies bc they are the ones who churn drivers.
Herd good % percent of cargo is getting unloaded from ships in Mexico, then trucks bringing it up here to state's
The big retailers and clients want it done for nothing, its policed and regulated too much, cameras everywhere and worst of all we are the most safest most professional drivers who save peoples lives every day.
How about weird breakdowns you've had, or strange stuff you've seen on the road. 👍🏼
I don't miss the alleged golden days of trucking.
Taking drugs to stay up for days.
Bad drivers, just getting a different state license.
But, the pay compared to today.
Definitely leaves something to be desired.
Corporate greed has hurt everyone.
I won't blame immigrants.
My grandparents were new here.
Corporations, etc.
Should pay a real-life living wage.
Money isn't tight.
It's just not distributed fairly.
I don't blame an immigrant.
While billionaires have private airports, and pay less taxs then that immigrant.
26 years I'm retired not that I had to but because I couldn't handle the road rage from car's and new steering wheel holders. They need to let everyone know truck's have dash camera now. About the cheap laber you go down there and work in those fields I'm really surprised you don't understand that no one will work in the fields for cheap the price has gone up in the market so thank you.
Great video but!!!! The volume is is a bit low 😂
Would becoming a trucker now be not a good idea? Ive liked trucks since i was a kid and wanted to drive them. Never wanted to own one specifically but driving for a company was an idea i had. And if i wanted to get a good education about trucking, where would i do so?
I always wanted to be a truck driver since I was a kid also and finally got in late in the game 6 years ago. I have never had a desire to be an owner operator so it was always company driver so far. As far as training I would recommend a community college program if you have one available close by. But I will tell you this, because of time constraints they will basically only teach you enough enough to pass the state exam so you can get your license. The rest you have to learn on the job so it would behoove you to do your research and try to find a good company that can begin your training as a new driver.
It's not " Government."
It's the individuals in Government.
The government builds roads, we use to just park on the road side or ramps. Now they want us to stop for .5 hrs. Since the build the roads they must build easy parking for us. Is not that hard to cut out a part of the road Big enough for trucks to park at. It all makes no sense.
I'll use this as an example; it took 18 mos to build the empire state building. The same build would take 10 years to build.
During the time of the USSR our gov & media ridiculed the USSR for the Red Tape they put everybody through. It put government workers to work. It took much longer get anything done just like now in our nation.
If truck stops. We're cheaper in price people would spend there money 💰 their 😊
Unecessarily.
I’ll tell you why it’s complicated because of the drivers themselves. You don’t like it but it’s the reality of it. Truckers are the biggest problem in trucking itself. Not the 4 wheelers, not the regulations No! It’s truckers themselves. I see truckers speeding tailgating cutting people off and yes car drivers do that too but you are a professional you are held to a higher standard than them. We complain about lack of respect well what have we done to get respect? Use our trucks to intimidate other motorists. Problem in trucking is truckers and we wonder why they want to get rid of us!
Part of the problem for sure. HOWEVER..... it's the powers that be that hire drivers, give em a quick crash course in trucking and then they hit the road! IT'S THE POWERS THAT BE WHO ARE RESPONSIBLE TO PUT SKILLED DRIVERS BEHIND THE WHEEL..... that is a big part of the issue....If they wouldn't put them behind the wheel, problem at least 60% solved.
@@SmartTrucking yes I do agree that there is a lack of skill in this industry. I also believe there is a lack of respect from truckers for what they do what I mean is, I believe there are a lot of so-called professional truck drivers out here who never wanted to be truckers to begin with, they just saw it as that looks easy. I’ll do that but because it was never a passion for them. They don’t care about safety and they don’t care about what happens to the trucking industry altogether and those are the people I hate the most out here are the ones who do not take this seriously, and treat it like a joke
Agreed. It's harmful to those of us, like yourself who take the job so seriously and go to the extremes to do the right thing. Then there's the other end of the spectrum as you say and treat the whole thing as a joke. BUT, there should be a way to weed them out and there is not. If pay was good for most all trucking jobs, it would attract the best and the wienies would get eliminated.
Unnecessarily when you speak about it. Unnecessary in the title😁
Was an innocent typo
