Wire Railing Crimper! - Make Your Own!

Wire railing crimping is a necessary aspect of all cable railing installations. The wire crimper also happens to be the most expensive tool you need for installing one of these cable railing systems. Cable wire railing is a great way to add a sleek and sophisticated look to a multitude of projects. There are many options for wire cable crimpers, but they are mostly all very expensive and after your install, the cable railing crimper is a tool you may never need again. The money you save in NOT buying the wire crimping tool will pay for the rest of your cable railing hardware!
In this video I show you how to make your own wire railing crimper from a bolt cutter. I'm using standard Muzata cable railing hardware in this video and it works great. 10 minutes of effort in converting a bolt cutter into a wire railing crimper can save you $100s.

Are you sure that every wire railing requires crimping? I have a lag bolt system that you slide the cable into the receiver and you rotate to tension the wire…
At least thats how i thought it worked…a couple of them have since come out, i dont know

I'm sure there are ways to avoid crimping, but MOST wire railing install will require it in some way. What's your project?
