I think a common misconception in this hobby is that "gasket mount" equates to a flexy typing experience which just isn't the case. One thing gasket mount universally solves is uneven sounds from hard standoff mounts.
That was me who suggested that! I'm so sorry that it had to end up this way :( I'm also glad that you are safe and nothing worse happened. Thank you for your testing it out. Definitely I'm keep subscribed and suggest to my keeb-nerdz friend to check your your channel. Keep up the good work! I will still definitely buy this board and do some experiments (no battery mods, promise!) lol
Hahaah I'm glad you were able to take something away from the video! Thanks again for the idea, I had a lot of fun making the video! Also if you are gonna purchase the board, feel free to use the code in my description (you get a discount and I get commission haha)! Cheers and thanks for the sub!
Can someone please help me ? I don´t know if I buy the wireless or wired version of this keyboard, the seller says the wireless don´t work with VIA software, and I can´t customize RGB lights on the Wireless version...

Oh god one of my comments made it through into your video and I almost feel responsible for your near to death experience with this keyboard haha. Thank you for trying this out for us dude! Not gonna touch my feker and leave it as it is with the standoffs. Great quality video, thanks!
The problem with this keyboard regarding the gasket mount is that the gaskets are stiff but also that if they are replaced with something softer, the case is shut so tightly that the gaskets do not have the space to move. @ZXMECH made a video on this here: th-cam.com/video/oBPP9oEuhy8/w-d-xo.html where he tried making a bouncy gasket mount, which worked but with a sacrifice. :)
Hahah my pleasure! I enjoy having interaction within the community so I'm glad my video could be of use to you 😂! And thank you for linking the video I'll have to check it out
Definitely wouldn't touch batteries unless you are familiar with their handling. I think the simple, cheap way to remove those sorts of batteries is fishing line or floss to slowly cut through the glue.
One has to wonder why they even had to glue it on in the first place. ...aside from the obvious answers of extreme cost-cutting and intention to make it repair-unfriendly, of course.
For those finding a wired alternative to the Feker IK75, please check out the NEXT TIME 75 or the FL-Esports Q75 wired version. Same exploded 75% layout and similar gasket mounting implementation. Much safer for modding.
i remember trying to remove a battery once and it was so stressful. What worked for me was using a hair dryer to warm up the glue and loosen the battery and then using a long piece of floss to "floss" underneath the battery and slide it away from the glue. it took some time, but no batteries were harmed int he process.
@@critiqalerror yeah you're right. for what it's worth, i warmed up only the bottom of the keyboard case, not the battery directly, on the lowest hair dryer setting and stopped to check intermittently because i knew of that risk. just sharing some other options if other people have the same problem with a battery, but yeah definitely proceed with a lot of caution when using this method.

A tip to remove the battery: Some card and isopropyl alcohol. It is usually glued with double-sided tape and the alcohol breaks it down easily.
Thanks for your help!

If you want to remove the battery, you can use isopropyl alcohol underneath the battery to weaken the adhesive
Thank you for teaching me something new! I'll remember this for thr next board with a battery

Hi, can you measure the diameter of the stock knob? Thanks

There is a wired version of the IK75 exact same case same plates just the batteries removed. Rn it’s on sale on aliexpress for like$45
@@greenhat7618 Thank you!
6 months ago me didn't know that. IK75 Pro exists and is indeed a better value than Next Time75.
Yeah the QMK wired version is amazing value.
hi! how do u easily pry the case open? i cant seem to do it, the case is clipped on tightly:c
You can use old plastic cards for prying the battery.
What does the standsoffs do in the case?
why dont you just buy a wired version
Now thats a risky mod lol also loving that gong haha!
Rookie mistake 😂. Congrats on becoming a partner!!
very random but important question: are you able to tell me the diameter, height, or any measurement possible of the rotary knob? thank you
I'll have to check but I'll do my best to get you the measurments
@@via.vincee7686 thank you
can this be used with the durock v2? subbed
2:08 pretty sure its common sense to not use a conductive and sharp item to try to remove the battery.
nice vids.. btw why do you need to remove the integrated stand-offs ?
To install silicone foam beneath it, it is sold on AliExpress
Am I the only one who purchased the wired version of the ik75? They exist. Cuz all I'm seeing on YT are the wireless versions of this keyb.
will try cutting standoffs, someone tried putting thinsuline foam but I can't find one in my country online lmao

Using a hair dryer probably heated up the battery too which is a big no. You were lucky this time.
Avoid extreme temperatures for batteries.

I am intrigued... why would you want to remove the batteries? Did you not like the weight of the board or was it for acoustic reasons?

cram pe foam into the whole board until you can barely close it under the lowest layer of foam and see the results! i modded mine and it's insane
I'm glad to hear you could make it work!
Metal blade touching battery is bad...for those who wanted to know what happened

Thankfully I could care less about my keyboards having flex in them lol
RIP board but i love the keycaps

Why dont you just credit the one that gave you the idea for this video? its free. Just like subscribing to your channel and liking this video.
I wanted to make sure they were okay with their name being displayed in the video, but I realized I already displayed it unintentionally :).
