I live on an Indiana farm surrounded by popcorn and soybean fields. I’m a country music fan, always have been, but I’ll listen to anything if it grabs my attention. This isn’t a country song though- it’s a song for our country. I’ve never heard something so meaningful, anything so powerful or anyone pour their heart and soul out like this man has. This video is an actual blue collar worker who shows his real, raw emotions and he’s fed up. He’s done with the bullshit that we all see but no one has the balls to say. I’ve dealt with my fair share of depression/anxiety and other issues so I can completely relate to his emotional suffering. Turning down an initial $8M in offers from record labels, he just wants to convey his message- he is spittin facts and this… THIS is “woke” talk, an actual great awakening. He opens his small town performances (went from singing in front of 20 people to literally thousands) with verses from the Bible and everyone is listening. He’s the exact light that this dark world needs and it holds a glimmer of hope. I pray that this changes us in a positive way and helps us ALL come together as one. The man has such an amazing voice, such a damn powerful 3 minutes.

Thank you for doing this. Enjoyed it. That was funny when you almost choked. I don't get lumping any group of individuals into a single category claiming, okay, all of these people are the same. Some office holders are not politicians at all but business owners, doctors, etc. They do care and that’s why they ran. Generalizing about any group is the very essence of prejudice and bigotry. It demeans people who sacrifice to be there for the right reasons. I’m aware that some go into politics with good intentions and then flip but again, others manage to maintain integrity. Mate, Oliver’s actually playing a resonator guitar…they were popular in Bluegrass and early Country music back in the day…
I am able to spend $200 a week on average at the market but when I see what it gets me, I am feeling mighty low. I used to only spend $150 a week and get a little more. And this is when I get my mother groceries that she cannot afford on her own that add up to about $40 on average for just her living by herself. If I had kids, oh my. I would have to make sure that I could still eat healthy and not resort to buying cheap box meals and crap with all kinds of unhealthy ingredients. Its just getting ridiculous. At least the summer allows people to buy produce from the many farmer's markets that pop up but during the winter, its another story. The healthiest you can get is possibly getting a low sodium soup or getting the ingredients to throw everything in a crock pot to make your own stew. Oliver is hitting home with us all. He has struck a cord for sure.
The minors references is this: The first word is for "miners" meaning to look out for people who work in coal mines for their living who are being made jobless because of the push on clean energy and the destruction of ever mining coal ever again. And then the second reference is for "minors" and he references the minors on an island and he's talking about Epstein island as welk as the notion of child trafficking. When he speaks of those who don't anything to eat he then references fat people who somehow have the money and choice to buy crappy food and keep getting fat while others are starving - somehow, there are still people in this country of plenty going hungry. The only thing welfare should supply those who are on it is essentials for life - not treats and crappy foods. Us tax payers are allowing this to happen. It sure has changed since when I was a kid. But why?

I like Lagavulin, I've bought a few bottles over the years, it's a little on the pricey side for me though. It's an Islay Scotch, and most of them are pretty heavy on the peat. Lagavulin kind of reminds me of a more refined Laphroaig, and I like Laphroaig too. Ardbeg is a young Islay Scotch, only 5 year old and it'll slap ya in the face for sure. I've tried about 12 different Islay island Scotches.
Oliver Anthony, or Chris as his family and friends call him, is the real deal when it comes to message. He's an unassuming dude. He wrote a bunch of his songs when he was depressed and dealing with alcohol issues. He's pretty shocked by the response this song has got in fact. RadioWV came down to his property and they recorded a few songs and this just blew up. They were hoping to get 20 or 30K views and maybe pump it up a little more, and I think it's over 30 million views now. He's not a signed guy. He's said himself he didn't want to be a full time musician, he's turned down an 8 million dollar deal, and said he doesn't want a bunch of tour busses, semi-tractors full of gear and a jet. He doesn't want to play arenas, he doesn't want to be in the spotlight. All he wants out of it is for people to stop being divided, to come together, and stop fighting each other. The media machine is already coming for him. There have been hit pieces out on him. I hope he can withstand the storm, because there's gonna be one.

In the last week I have listened to over fifty reactions of this guy - no I never do this on anyone else - but you guys get what this guy is singing about. Now take the time to watch his video made the night before this song was made and the one he made in his truck a few days later. Each is only a few minutes but this explains a lot.
