I was laughing to the scenes without the audio!! That tells you just how funny the movies is.

This DCOM was better than I thought it was going to be. I find that when Disney Channel does the previews for their DCOMs (especially in recent years), they tend to make it look like a not-so-good DCOM when in reality it is good. Both Laura Marano and Leigh-Allyn Baker did a great job in this movie. I am so relieved that it didn't go the typical route of having Liz be Monica's mother. I was getting the feeling they were going to go there quite a bit while watching and all I kept saying was "don't go there. You don't have to go there. It's good the way it is" and they didn't and I couldn't be happier about it.
Disney Channel has become masters at underselling their latest projects, lol, I don't know if they realize that they're doing it, but for certain movies like The Swap, I'm glad they mislead us because the surprise of having a much deeper and important movie than anyone was expecting was very welcome.
Who else said the "every DCOM has its dance" line with him? Please tell me it wasn't just me!

Honestly for like the entire movie I thought that they would say that Leigh's character was actually Laura's mother. I was so relieved when it ended up that she wasn't her mother. I honestly loved Laura's character. I can totally understand that she needed other people's opinions over her. Most people look for others approval and it is HARD to learn to just be yourself. This was a great DCOM.
It's a light, funny, campy film but it has a really important message like so many Disney movies, I enjoyed it.
my only issue with this movie is the title why did this need to be called "bad hair day" it had nothing to do with the overall plot and not only that but it's barely acknowledged in the film itself
brian griebel actually if Laura's character didn't have a bad hair day then she wouldn't need to have a ride from Liz.
Plot convince that's all it was and other than that it has nothing to do with the overall story

That's true, but I think that's kind of the point. The bad hair in bad hair day is mostly a plot driver initially but the movie proves to be much more than that. But it does set the tone early on to not give it a more serious title than that, which adds to the humor. And even though this film doesn't do it as well as others, I like it when a title can subvert expectations.

Thanks Disney brain for finally reviewing this DCOM. I waited so long but it was worth it. It is one of my personal favourite DCOMs.

For a movie called Bad Hair Day, I actually had a good time with this movie. I do enjoy Laura Marano's acting and I love Good Luck Charlie so this pair being together in a DCOM sparked my interest a little. Both of them did great and this movie is now one of my favorites.
Well actors get better into their character when it's a TV show other than a movie because they have longer
Maybe, but that's far from a general rule. For example, Bridget Mendler is far better in Lemonade Mouth than at any point in Good Luck Charlie. It's more about the how effectively the actor in question can convey the character they are portraying. And even when actors are playing the same roles in TV shows and movies, like in Wizards of Waverly Place, the movie characterizations can reign supreme due to better direction and a larger playing field to have said characters go through important arcs.
When I first watched this movie, I wished that Monica's best friend was a more important character in the story. Now I know that it might have made the plot more scatter-shot.
Okay, so while I'm watching the video, I'm typing my opinion on this movie.
Bad Hair Day, I thought, was a pretty good movie. The movie spends a lot of time on how Monica's mother left. The entire movie, I was expecting for Liz to actually be Monica's mother. Maybe it was a stretch, but that's what I thought would happen. It seems like the movie was set up for that. I enjoyed the movie. It's too bad no one remembers it since Descendants and Teen Beach 2 were stealing the spotlight.

It'll probably be Across The 2nd Dimension, since that's what people have requested for months, lol. I want to do Tiger Cruise eventually too, as well as Tru Confessions, Right On Track, and Color of Friendship one of these days. Then I can finally say I've given full reviews to all the DCOMs I've called the all time best, minus some of the honorable mentions.

Everything she said made me smile! She is amazing!
But I do think Laura did more amazing then what you gave her credit for, yes she works better as ally (obviously) but I think that's because here, she is the more so OPPOSITE of ally, ally is a school brainiac who really doesn't care about ppls opinions (most of the time anyway) and has stage fright for the entire first season, some of the second too, heck ally wouldn't run for prom queen to save her life if it was season one lol 😂
But Monica is more outgoing and actually is the definition of an insecure teenager...she wants the opinions, she wants to be noticed, and that's why I think this role was a complete switch for Lauren at the time
But other then that I think they both were amazing!!! Loved this movie!
To be fair, my stance on Laura's acting here is meant to be taken relatively, which I failed to fully explain. The thing is, there are so many bar raising lead actress DCOM performances that not even Britt Robertson herself found a way into the top 10 when I made that video. So anything that I perceive as less than that is not a performance I would laud over. She was good here, but I don't think the way she was good was a major point of emphasis for the film as a whole.

Have you ever watched Transformers Prime? I am not a big transformers fan, but that show has an important emotional impact on me and the storyline is fantastic. It's on Netflix and i strongly reccomend you watch it. Anyway, great review. I also thought the way the main pair connect is awesome.
I haven't yet, but now I guess I'll have to add it to my ever growing list of need to watch shows, lol.
