Hi all! This one’s got a loooot of complex topics and I wanted to start the next video off by digging into areas you think I should have talked about, areas where I didn’t quite explain myself enough, or even things I may have said that were misleading or incorrect. So respond to this post with suggestions and I’ll see which ones I can add to the beginning of the Zombies 3 review.

I know you posted this video long time ago but I’m forgetful, lmao. Watching Zombies 3, I actually cried during Addison‘s part. I am Jewish American, specifically a fourth Jewish. My whole life, I’ve been having to figure out what it means to have this interfaith relationship and to find my own identity and all this. Seeing a main character go through her own story of acceptance and finding herself and learning what it means to be mixed, I couldn’t help but see myself in Addison. And most importantly, seeing her find acceptance not only in herself but with others give me so much hope for the future. I deal with so much imposter syndrome because of how I grew up and my relationship to the Jewish side my identity. Again, to see a main character go through the journey I’m currently going through right now, I couldn’t help but cry. Now, I know that my relationship and my experiences don’t compare to someone who is POC or mixed POC. I also recognize that Addison’s journey might not lineup with other mixed peoples journeys in their identity. But it doesn’t take away from the complexity, pain, and the journey that I’ve had to go through in my life, And the comfort that this movie brought to me. Again I know you’re not going to see this, but I just wanted to get my thoughts out there

I hate how NOBODY takes Eliza seriously in these movies, yet she's the one with the most common sense.

Thats one cliche I can't stand: the smart character makes a good point but someone else, even their own allies, for some, uncharacteristically, gaslight them into believing they're wrong. And sometimes, the so called smart character actually believes them. This one happens on The Flash at least once a season.
Edit: Wizards of Waverly Place did this with the Stevie arc where she wanted to destroy the wizard competition rule because it tore apart so many wizard families including her's which does happen. But because the writers don't want to change the show's status quo when it ends, they want us to believe she's evil. They could've done this in the series finale right in the middle of the wizard competition where they have her do some shady methods that made the characters antagonize her but Alex or some other character empathize with her. And after Alex wins, the wizard council decide to end the wizard competition once and for all.

Personally I do think bucky grew as a character in some ways
They kept some things like his ego because it was part of his charm
But there were ways he did grow as a character imo
He didn’t stay entirely the same
In zombies one his ego was portrayed as more aggressive and cruel but in zombies 2 and 3 his ego was portrayed as more goofy and charming

I love how well utilized the bigger budget was in Z3
It’s not perfect but it was still enjoyable emotional and heartwarming

I like that zombies 3 tried to be a little bit more wild and creative because he was probably having fun experimenting with new ideas cuz of the bigger budget
Maybe there were directions in z3 you had issue with I still hope you enjoyed the film
It was fun and heartwarming and unique

Since you've already seen Zombies 3 I'm gonna discuss how the Addison reveal impacts her character. I've considered Addison's hair plotline to be an allegory for assimilation, especially with how they create a parallel in Zombies 2 between Zed's assimilation and her story. The alien reveal helps flesh out this allegory, making Addison and her mother an allegory for 2nd/3rd gen immigrants and Addison's feeling of being an "outsider" to seabrook despite being born in seabrook fits that.

My take on the election was that bucky is very cutthroat competitive and will do whatever it takes to win
Even if another human ran against him he would still pull dirty tricks to try to win
    That’s just my take
I don’t think the movies are perfect but I love their contagious positive energy
The social commentaries aren’t perfect but their execution is unique

I don’t like how badly haters of the franchise misunderstand addison
Saying things like “she has no personality and makes minorities her personality”
Which simply isn’t true and shows they haven’t been paying attention

The animated series is gonna explore the world of zombies and seabrook deeper than the movies could
    With brilliant people behind it
I can’t wait to see how it turns out
People who worked on things like amphibia
Phineas and ferb harvey street kids etc

Honestly Z3 makes me appreciate Z2 as it gets the whole fighting couple aspect out of the way and actually makes Zed and Addison very likeable together in Z3, plus Zed also isn't suspicious of the aliens for most of the film which shows that he's grown. All around I personally like the Zombies trilogy, even with all of its faults.

I find it odd that the 3rd film went for Aliens instead of Vampires which you think would be the next logical step after werewolves

There are 4 points that I think that are worth talking about the first is the rest of the worlds hesitation to except monsters in the college it seemed like the zombie thing was more of a localized thing than a huge area so it makes sense that the rest of the world will be uncomfortable the second days is the fact that there’s only one non-binary character and they are an alien Was smart because well trans and non-binary are a choice and are relatively recent Bring that more into the foreground may cause the two groups that have been persecuted for stuff they can’t really control a little mad the third is how assimilation into a group can cause some trouble down the line and this is mostly due to Addison’s mom third is the question of environmental damage and not speaking up or doing anything to stop it the aliens mention that their home was destroyed because of environmental issues and no one did anything to stop it and the fourth is that a world without conflict and notice harmony make has more trouble than it’s worth

Zombies as a franchise doesn't make sense to me, having undead be a stand in for minority groups has to be one of the scummiest ideas I've seen in awhile. How can they reproduce if they're dead? Wouldn't the 'teen' zombies actually be older chronologically speaking since years would've passed since they became zombies? I know there is a social commentary that's the main focus, but the world building just doesn't make sense. Plus it's modern Disney, so it automatically goes into the cringe pile unless it's a diamond in the rough like Encanto.
