+Stefan Childers uh...if you actually look at their site 4 pods are $5.99 making it around 1.49$ per glass. which for an at home tap is not bad. its about what you would pay at a restaurant if not less at many places.
Ashish Singh No... no they don’t. It’s not a smoking joke. It’s when the smoke enters your lungs and what they look like. Stop trying to look cool by saying you smoke.
I heard that they're working on these plastic containment vessels that can hold two liters of pre-mixed soda inside them. What's really cool is that they're small enough to fit in a fridge, so they can still keep cool, and you don't have to wait for the keurig to dispense them! They're even thinking in the future they might release 6-packs of 20 oz vessels, and even 12 and 24-packs of 12 oz aluminum vessels!
+godzillalikespie or a machine that you could put money into and it could give you a cold can for 75 cents or so. You could put them on every block i bet you'd make a killing.

prebenkul All of the stores where I live have fridges, but I see your point. I think there's one problem though, since it's much better and fresh people have one more reason to be lazy and not walk to the store for coke. It's bad for americans imo.
Probably true, but if it saves on glass and plastic bottles then it's worth paying more for imo :) They could even make them recyclable. Edit - Turns out they do now www.keurig.com/makingeverycupmatter

How to make Coca-cola at home. Step 1. Get a glass of water Step 2. Add 6 cups of sugar Step 3. Add brown and black food dye to color Step 4. Enjoy your diabetes
We had this in India back in the early 2000s. It was called Soda Maker. But it went out of business pretty soon. Though it was cheap, but a very unnecessary item to have at home.
I love my sodastream, but thats because i like making flavors you cant get in a can. why go through that extra step, money, and create more kurig waste in this world for coke? I mean the groceries come to the home now, put in fridge and done.
399$ Machine? Crazy. What is even more crazy is that cola capsule thingies 4 of them is sold at 6$. Just 4 glass of cola at 6$? They must be out of mind to be making these things and trying to make profit off of it.
+MidnightCoffee If this is true, it could be worth it in the long run, save for the high cost upfront of the machine which you have to divide amongst each pod for cost to figure what its really costing per drink. The more you use, the lesser the cost. I'd read somewhere online for a review that each glass cost the equivalent of $1.50, and you can get 3 cans of Coke for that locally where I'm at so.... if the price were to drop on the machine as well as the pods to make it cost efficent, a fresh glass each time would be nice to have. Till then, it's just a pricey novelty. Makes me wonder how much a fountain machine and the syrup is that restaurants use. Might be better off getting that instead if you could.
+Paul Rolls (PR203) Before I reply, I just would like to say I think this product (the one in the video) is useless and a gimmick. But its completely different from a soda stream, the whole way it works is different, plus you cant official coke ones which taste the same as the real thing.
It poured water first before mixing the syrup because it's super concentrated. I'm not sure if it's the same ratio but generally it's 5:1. In commercial machines there's more room for mixing. This small unit is basically a spout where as the large machines mix as they pour and have a finer degree of control.
If you could figure out how to take the dye out of the Coca-Cola Pods, you can make the world's first Crystal Coca-Cola, just like the limited edition Crystal Pepsi
So you could spend 200 on a machine that when you need the capsules are about $15 bucks a box or just go out and buy a 12 pack for $5. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
+Ian Oswald Dhervann Eijkberk keep in mind I'm a kid (under 18) with no job, in a third world country (not US), with parents that don't give allowance. I actually can't afford 1. well... maybe I can (with the money I find on the ground) but a wouldn't waste it on something so frivolous.
Asher Peterson that's bullshit where is your proof that they discontinued this product? why would they this is fucking brilliant? it doesn't make any sense if they discontinued this product then how the hell did unbox therapy got it?
I always loved that he gets to the point and even if he does something else first he doesn't drag the video 12 minutes of things that don't have nothing to do with the title.
What pisses me off is that since Keurig sent this to him to review and might have paid him, he probably won't give his honest opinion and is forced to like it.
+ThisIsEvan717 He talked about stuff like that many times... And honestly he can choose himself what stuff he reviews and what not. He is in no way forced to do it.
+floSa If it is a paid product placement he is meant to say so. In this case it seems it is as he gave no negatives even though it's a $400 machine that has very little purpose.
MrTomdc1020 Dude he is pretty much rich if you look at his house car etc. Why would he care that its 400$. Sure he will but way less than the normal guy. Also the price is something which is pretty easy to find out when you intent to buy it. :P
+NotATube He has *3,5 million!!!* subscribers so companies wont just stop sending a channel like his sending stuff. Many things are just for review and have to be sent back afterwards btw. 1x 1000$ item is nothing for a company ecspecially since they just pay production cost. As long as he reviews stuff companies will keep sending stuff.
***** Basically yes.. Soda is so bad for you.. i was addicted to it for years.. soon as i stopped drinking it i started to lose so much weight its crazy.
ya man i was suprised at the amount of coke you guys drink in the west.... back here its maybe one can a week kind of thing .. and during my childhood it was like 1 small bottle a day.. they have super mini bottles lol . when i went abrord and saw the portions of coke i was shicked :-p
+joseph eapen I drank a 0.5l bottle a Day, today I drink like one can of energy drink a week lol Sugar is fucking bad for you, you need it but not in those doses.
Meanwhile Sodastream do a cola thats , what 4 dollars for 10 litres of a respectably pepsi/coke-like cola and no wasteful pods. Theres a reason this thing was discontinued, it was doomed from the start
Here in Thailand its 33 cents roughly for a can of coke at 7/11 so at least its cheaper for me to go to 7/11 than to get a pod thats 50cents each. But yeah in America this seems like a better option if you dont factor in the cost of the machine.
Techwise it was actually pretty cool. They had beads of Al2SiO5 in the top of the pod and syrup in the bottom of the pod. Al2SiO5 can absorb CO2 and will release it when wetted. A chiller chamber was filled with 12oz of cold water. A small amount of cold water was sent to the top of the pod which caused the CO2 to be released. That CO2 then pressurized the chiller chamber where the rest of the cold water carbonated. Then the carbonated water was mixed with the syrup. This allowed the pods to contain both CO2 and syrup so no canister was needed. And since the carbonated water flows through the syrup, no risk of fizz over like can happen if you're not careful with a soda stream. The cost tho... $300 machine, pods cost more than a can, no ability to make your own flavors like you can with soda stream... Didn't take long before they stopped making them.
I've literally watched this video over 300 times since the initial release!!! I love the machine and Lew (at his best, as usual)!!! This one's my all time favourite!!!!
Fountain pop has its cachet and novelty...press a button or a lever and out of the spout - or a bar's soda gun - comes a sweet, cold treat, like magic. It also has taste preference and thirst-quenching appeal...sometimes I'd rather have a less concentrated and softly carbonated soft drink than bottled or canned, especially when really thirsty and just wanting to down one quickly. But the only economically and ecologically saner way to satisfy it at home would be to have an actual small fountain setup, with under-cabinet syrup bags or canisters and a water filtration and carbonation system, with a 2 or 3 spout dispenser, and the usual chrome and attractive backlit "Coke" or "Pepsi" bezel (or a painted ceramic dispenser with a big "jerk" handle, like an old-fashioned soda-shop). That would more than fulfill anyone's needs. The Keurig machine, with what I'm assuming is pretty delicate machinery and electronics, having to buy pop-pods, and the usual maintenance and cleaning to prevent bacterial and mold growth, would be a pain in the ass, a waste of resources, and a drain on the wallet. Sure, it's freshly produced and does all the magical dispensing you'd expect, but I'm certain that, in most of American urbia and suburbia, a restaurant or convenience store is within five blocks at most, the syrups never sit long enough to go stale, and the cost per drop is minimal (64 oz. for 59 cents or the like, and somewhat higher in Canada). Also, soft drinks like Coke are no longer treated like a kind of OTC tonic - something almost "prescribed" by your friendly attending soda jerk. In its trademark curved tulip glass with a chrome slip-on handle, you might sip and savor just 6-8 ounces of Coke at the corner drugstore, on those occasions when you needed its cold, bracing lift of caffeine, or the carbonation to work out indigestion and tummy upsets. Your late Great-Grandma would have had a spit-take if she'd had a psychic glance of today's cola consumption while sipping her small serving. If evolution did not move at its leisurely pace, we'd already have enlarged or doubled kidneys and bladders to handle the excess liquid, or a CamelBack sac, intended for soft drinks, so one could fill them once and then, like salivary glands, "drink" our desired sodas throughout the day. (And not to mention pancreases the size of a very fat pug, plus an ordinary Chihuahua.) A Keurig put through Great-Grandma's ocassional pick-me-up glass won't strain it, but for the soda fiends of today, they might as well be sold in six-packs like the cans themselves, as I'm sure they'd burn out post-haste. One K-cup per glass will not last long at all - again, a real dispenser seems more sensible. And, as for our kind reviewer's reaction to the Keurig and the Coke? He speaks of it with a strange mix of reverence and lustiness. It's "the future", but only so if pop wasn't already flowing like the seven seas from containers and dispensers. His reaction to the syrup pod reaches Holy Grail wonderment, as he is rendered agape by a simple plastic cup with liquid sugar, caramel, and other extracts. Its mixing and dispensing is practically heralded by choirs of the heavenly host rejoicing, "Coke at home! What great miracle has been wrought!" It's neat, but nowhere near orgasmic, and not very practical. What commonplace solutions for soft drinks we already have work perfectly well. Not to mention we could all well stand to drink just plain, nice, ice water when we're thirsty.
Onion Ninja what's the point of buying it from Amazon if you already know it's not getting any more support from the company who made it? It was a waste of money even before, now it's completely useless
licensed doesn't mean tastes better lmao... as if sodastream cola syrup isn't coke syrup! Not sure if you've ever worked in fast food and seen actual coke syrup but it's exactly the same in every way. Sodastream even have cola, diet cola, and cola ZERO (zero added sugar). Which tastes identical to coke, diet coke and coke zero. ^_^
If you are talking about the new machine with touchscreen which they have in some location, then yes, it is. I tried it a few times when I was in location and it taste better than the old machine.
Its similar, but not quite the same thing. Those usually have huge containers of CO2 in their basements, along with huge containers of syrup, and it has to be changed every so often. With this, everything is inside the pod.
You don't have Sodastream in USA? Because it has been here for like 5 years. Costs like 30 euros and does the excact same thing. You just add carbon with it and mix the flavor.
My old job in Sweden, back in the 90-ties had a Coca Cola machine! :-) Similar to the ones at McDonalds but much smaller. We ordered the Coca Cola syrup and it was not as expensive as the pods for this Keurigmachine.
That is the biggest ripoff I've ever seen. 1 pod is 8oz. (less than a can.) That means a Pod Refill pack of 16 (the most value) is $19.99. A case of 24 Cans is $12.99 (from office max) That means per oz the Keurig costs 15 cents, while buying it in cans results in 4.5 cents an oz. The cost of the Machine is $399 which is 720 cans of Pop. Which if you assume you were to drink 2 cans a day is a years supply of pop. That would be 1080 Keurig pods (8oz of drink 3 a day) at a average cost of $1.24 a pod. 1080 Pods - $1349 720 Cans - $389 That is 3.5 times the cost over cans. That means you are left with a really expensive way to make Pop and rather than having a recyclable bottle or can you have a pod that goes to a landfill. So ya why buy cans when you can just make pods that sit in a landfill and cost 3.5 times as much as a can of pop... why are people dumb enough to buy these?
well as it happens.. people aren't so dumb. The Machine is dead. www.thestar.com/business/2016/06/07/keurig-kills-kold-machine-after-less-than-a-year.html This was the first I had heard of the things, and it seems many people did the math.
***** Well technically you can drink bleach just not excess amounts. Put a drop in a bottle of water and it kills all bacteria and is still 100% safe to drink.

You might still be able to find a new one on ebay, but within a few months, your investment will become a huge paperweight as finding the pods might be a little too hard, unless Keurig committed to several years pod production.

+Paul Rolls (PR203) Before I reply, I just would like to say I think this product (the one in the video) is useless and a gimmick. But its completely different from a soda stream, the whole way it works is different, plus you cant official coke ones which taste the same as the real thing.
Sodastream you have those CO2 cannisters. This doesn't need them
I was gonna laugh when the machine didn't work with the Coca-Cola
It poured water first before mixing the syrup because it's super concentrated. I'm not sure if it's the same ratio but generally it's 5:1. In commercial machines there's more room for mixing. This small unit is basically a spout where as the large machines mix as they pour and have a finer degree of control.
I just meant with all of the pressure that he was putting it under, "This is the big moment..."
Joey Carmichiel same😂😂
Robert Regalado that's a lot of college
So, buy this expensive machine and barely have 2l of Coke, or just buy 2 bottles for around 3$? And not even lose that much money..
But why would you want to run to the store and buy Coke when you can make it yourself in the comfort of your own home?
this is for long use like at cinemas etc
+Sujan Gauchan lol no cinemas will use actual fountains that use syrup from boxes and massive CO2 tanks, not some overpriced novelty like this.
+Sujan Gauchan thats the most stupid thing i ever read.
True dat!
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
you also need to play some hip hop and act like you never drank coca, then you're good with your 12 pack !
Because it's fun
I wait until the 12 packs are on sale at Target, 3 12 packs for 10 or 11 bucks!
I buy my Coke packs from Coles for $6 AUD.
The idea is to make any beverage at your home
as soon as I saw that box I knew “i can't afford this"... oh wait, I can't afford coke at all.
seriously thought this doesn't seem like a cost effective idea.
+Jesse McClure try sodastream it's $80 is way more cosy effective then Kold and over the long run better then normal soda cans
So you don't've enough money for Cola even thought its £1.75 / Whatever it is in the U.S of Tubbs.
Whoa, calm down mate.
They discontinued this gadget.
Asher Peterson NOOOOOOOOO!!!!
WAIT, WHAT? WHY? THIS IS A MIRACLE FOR LAZY PEOPLE LIKE ME WHO DOESN'T WANT TO GET UP AND BUY A DRINK
Asher Peterson that's bullshit where is your proof that they discontinued this product? why would they this is fucking brilliant? it doesn't make any sense if they discontinued this product then how the hell did unbox therapy got it?
mazretin12 check the website, it really is discontinued
Thank god, think about the fucking waste this thing produces
I always loved that he gets to the point and even if he does something else first he doesn't drag the video 12 minutes of things that don't have nothing to do with the title.
Capsules are 6 € for 4 - 200 ml glass. you get 3 - 330ml cans for 1 euro in cheapest stores
Thx mate
What pisses me off is that since Keurig sent this to him to review and might have paid him, he probably won't give his honest opinion and is forced to like it.
+ThisIsEvan717
He talked about stuff like that many times...
And honestly he can choose himself what stuff he reviews and what not.
He is in no way forced to do it.
+floSa If it is a paid product placement he is meant to say so. In this case it seems it is as he gave no negatives even though it's a $400 machine that has very little purpose.
MrTomdc1020
Dude he is pretty much rich if you look at his house car etc.
Why would he care that its 400$.
Sure he will but way less than the normal guy.
Also the price is something which is pretty easy to find out when you intent to buy it. :P
+floSa Pretty sure he knows damn well that companies will stop sending him freebies to "review" fairly quickly if he starts slagging them off.
+NotATube
He has *3,5 million!!!* subscribers so companies wont just stop sending a channel like his sending stuff.
Many things are just for review and have to be sent back afterwards btw.
1x 1000$ item is nothing for a company ecspecially since they just pay production cost.
As long as he reviews stuff companies will keep sending stuff.

Omg FINALY!! I always wanted to know how does this guy look without a hat.
this was in 2015
For those wondering I just checked keurig's website, 5.99 for 4 pods leaving you at approximately 1.50 a pod
I THINK THE PRICE DIFFERS BY COUNTRY, THIS IS FOR CANADA
+Sami Rasheed that will make it about 1.99 for US then?
+🙏Kimberly Alonzo..I ❤ You! Canada money is roughly worth 10% less than US money, so it could be slightly cheaper here.

i used to own a soda steam in 2013 i miss it
differnce is it has real soda companys
+Rabbit MachineKiller you can buy syrupe from the real companies
Buying the pods seem more like a nuisance than going across the street to buy a coke.
probably more expensive too
It's the same method McDonalds uses for the production of cheap soda; they add syrup to carbonated water. So they probably aren't worth that much.
+Shakib Ali It's actually much cheaper. A pack of four for the price of a single can.
Here in Thailand its 33 cents roughly for a can of coke at 7/11 so at least its cheaper for me to go to 7/11 than to get a pod thats 50cents each. But yeah in America this seems like a better option if you dont factor in the cost of the machine.
But us Americans are lazy we don't got time to go to the 7/11 to buy a coke.
First time seeing Lew without a cap
Machine: mixes carbonated water and syrup.
Unbox therapy: ÖÖÖÖÖÖÖÖÖ
Didn't take long before they stopped making them.

lol the ending I don't think I've ever been this excited for coke in my life yeah well it's the good stuff.
(And not to mention pancreases the size of a very fat pug, plus an ordinary Chihuahua.)
A Keurig put through Great-Grandma's ocassional pick-me-up glass won't strain it, but for the soda fiends of today, they might as well be sold in six-packs like the cans themselves, as I'm sure they'd burn out post-haste.
What great miracle has been wrought!"
It's neat, but nowhere near orgasmic, and not very practical. What commonplace solutions for soft drinks we already have work perfectly well.
Not to mention we could all well stand to drink just plain, nice, ice water when we're thirsty.
Sean Wilkinson 10 paragraphs about machine on TH-cam. Phenomenal.
Sean Wilkinson lol that was amazing. May I ask what your inspiration was?

If you are talking about the new machine with touchscreen which they have in some location, then yes, it is. I tried it a few times when I was in location and it taste better than the old machine.
no actually this is funtions quite differently as the ones at mcdonalds
Its similar, but not quite the same thing. Those usually have huge containers of CO2 in their basements, along with huge containers of syrup, and it has to be changed every so often. With this, everything is inside the pod.

True but it’s not just coke it’s different drinks
And what about people who don’t have time to do that or can’t leave their house for some reason
Omer Sagali What if they run out of pods?
That is the biggest ripoff I've ever seen. 1 pod is 8oz. (less than a can.) That means a Pod Refill pack of 16 (the most value) is $19.99. A case of 24 Cans is $12.99 (from office max)
That means per oz the Keurig costs 15 cents, while buying it in cans results in 4.5 cents an oz.
The cost of the Machine is $399 which is 720 cans of Pop. Which if you assume you were to drink 2 cans a day is a years supply of pop. That would be 1080 Keurig pods (8oz of drink 3 a day) at a average cost of $1.24 a pod.
1080 Pods - $1349
720 Cans - $389
That is 3.5 times the cost over cans.
That means you are left with a really expensive way to make Pop and rather than having a recyclable bottle or can you have a pod that goes to a landfill.
So ya why buy cans when you can just make pods that sit in a landfill and cost 3.5 times as much as a can of pop... why are people dumb enough to buy these?
nicely calculated!
