I’ve lived in Dacula for the past 12 years, I wouldn’t call it affordable. Maybe five years ago it would’ve been, but in the past few years property values have skyrocketed.
This sounds like a great place to live. I used to live in Lawrenceville and I loved it. Dacula, I am sure, is a wonderfully beautiful and peaceful town to live in. Peace is priceless.
Wow! I was merely THINKING about this being the place I want to move to next (never said it aloud, never typed it), and an hour later I get on TH-cam and see this video...
Healthcare is a must for choosing a retirement city. Looking at infrastructure and how easy it is to get around. Walkability, protected bike lanes, parks greenways, general safety are all keys to a good retirement place.
I,will be Retiring in 2 Years, and I am trying to find out, because I do not drive, what is the Public Transportation, like in Gwinnett County, and in Paticular,Dacula?.(Peace).
This is a great video. I didn't know about Dacula, GA. Can you make a video on Douglasville, GA? It also seems to be a great place to live for African Americans. African Americans are at 62% in Douglasville, GA. The mayor, police chief, and other official offices are African American. African Americans are controlling most things in Douglassville. Douglassville is growing.Tyler Perry has built his home there, there is a new amphitheater and a resort. There are plans to update the downtown areas with more businesses and shops. There are over 100 new businesses in Douglasville and new home construction is happening. Chapel Hill is a premier established golf club community in Douglasville. The schools are good. I have been researching the area and may possibly retire there in about 3 years from Los Angeles, California. I have a friend who lives in Douglassville. I love your videos and you would be the best to make a video about Douglasville. I would like to see more info on Douglasville, GA. Thank you for your many great videos!
This is a very informative platform. I always enjoy watching the videos about the Black Community in such a POSITIVE way...Great Job and thankyou for your Knowledge.😊
Unless you are retired, WFH, or working very close by, you DO NOT want to move to Dacula, you will be cursing every day dealing with traffic, it's probably one of the longest and worst commutes if you are working anywhere outside of the area, and a commute from Dacula to downtown Atl could be anywhere from an hour to two hours or longer (one way) based on traffic, accidents, rain etc. Please talk to someone who actually lives in the Atlanta area currently, or a true native who has the latest info on demographics, housing cost, crime, and school info so you can make the best decision prior to moving somewhere here. A whole lot has changed not only in the Atlanta area but also the suburbs just like any other major city.
I live in Dacula. It is a great place to live. But, it’s not that affordable anymore. Dacula and Gwinnett is being mispronounced several times in the video.
I'm a retired, single AA woman, looking to purchase my forever home. Your content seems to focus on AA couples. Any recommendations for retired AA females? I'd be relocating from Southern California.
Thank you for that question regarding singles. I too am looking for a diverse retirement community where there are singles. This channel had a wealth of information. Thank you.
I am a widower 62 and have several relatives living in lawrenceville & douglasville GA. I am looking for a place to retire to from NJ. Hopefully we can meet in retirement there😁
Awesome Video! I have two more years until I can retire as an educator “30” years! 🙏🏽🔥❤️. The video is very helpful! Thank you “BE” keep up the good work! I love this channel! 💯
Totally agree because this is what gets us in trouble; not having anything to leverage. We talk too much, out in the open so much so that others know what we're doing.
Financial planning is like navigation. If you know where you are and where you want to go, navigation isn't such a great problem. It's when you don't know the two points that it's difficult
Great video thanks so much. The noted multiple, multiple, consistently the that Dacula is ideal for AA COUPLES. Does this mean its not a viable option for AA single women Or men to retire to? Also I wish there was a mention of worship options.
It may be a little slow for Singles but with ATL around the corner I can imagine that it would be a viable option for Singles. But we suggest your own individual due diligence.
Definitely sounds interesting. You mentioned Black _couples_ multiple times. I'd love to know if Dacula would be a good place for single retirees to go. I am still a few years away from retiring, but am looking to "get my ducks in a row" now.
I prefer to west metro area like Lithia Springs, Villa Rica, Carrollton. Much less populated with almost a semi-rural feeling. Bough in Villa Rica but wish I had gone further like Bremen or Tallapoosa
Wow! I tune in to see where this Mecca is only to find out it's where I already am! I've been here for about 12 years and have definitely seen the growth. It's a great, diverse area and I've had no complaints here!
Wow. That’s incredible 😁 Any disadvantages. I hear that the main artery there can get clogged up during commute hours. Question… when shopping or navigating around town does it truly feel like a diverse community?
I’d like a clarification if you can. At the beginning of the video there was a graphic that said Dacula was 47% African-American. I did a look up on Google and it said the white population was 45.3% and the black population was 25%. Is there an explanation between the data that seems to be so off between the two sources? Thanks in advance.
Creating a video to guide Black Americans on ideal retirement locations is commendable, offering valuable insights. However, even in choosing a place to retire, the guidance of a financial advisor remains crucial to ensure a secure and well-planned financial future.
wow this is great, although I am a few years from retirement, I now know Dacula is on my first choice, and although I live in high rent NYC, midnite train to Georgia will lay my head to rest
Dacula sounds like a great place, just like Atlanta did back in the day but, they're both in Georgia. If I have to go to the south in order to find a nice place to retire that has friendly people, affordable living, great climate, cultural activities, etc, I think I'll go way down south and do what Howling Wolf said: "Head on down to Mexico".
No doubt being financially free cannot be overemphasized, hearing these numbers make me feel some kind of way o, making smart plans and setting up diversified investment portfolios is quite essential.
Being a mecca for black folks to retire ,I tend to not agree on this one. If you're planning on traveling via Hartsfield Jackson Airport , good luck with traffic. Going for dinner or a play or Falcons game in downtown ATL, you might as well plan on overnight staying at a hotel or friend for the night.Housing cost in Dacula is at an all time high. Lake Lanier"'s haunting history with black folks is just too close for me. Powder Spring.
