I just want to be myself and not be guarded. I just shared that I have familiars with someone, being vulnerable, and she looked at me like I was crazy and hasn't talked to me since. I like being around people of different ideas and lives. It makes it interesting. I just want to run and hide most days because it's exhausting NOT being myself, 100%.
Growing up in isolation and abuse meant I spent most of my time in nature , books and an ever deepening inner world . This was the seed of my identity as a witch. This was also the seed of loneliness . I feel you ❤
I am a solitary practitioner but I want a tribe of people like myself…I struggle with getting caught up in non magical folks problems…but they really don’t listen to my thoughts thereby draining me. So I keep it short…when I feel that sadness on those people I will give a few words of encouragement. Thank you for sharing some other ways of seeking out listeners…animals,nature, etc. My tribe is on utube and I have found wonderful,supportive people and it’s growing. I want to grow and learn but also contribute what I can. Love and light to all❤
There is a lovely community here on TH-cam. That being said, I’m trying to figure out someway to put something together where we can have a space to actually talk and hang out.
I have always been a solitary practitioner, as was my mother and her mother. I discovered early on that the more "social" witches want to reenact scenes from The Craft or some other nonsense or they want to feed off of your magic. Now, as a crone, I found my power of invisibility kicked in because no one sees me; not family nor strangers. At times I am fine with that; most of the time, in fact. However it is very lonely at times and even a crushing loneliness. If I follow my heart and disappear into the dark forest to grow herbs for medicine and dance with the forest creatures by the fire no one, NO ONE would notice me gone until they needed something....I prefer Cryptids over humans any day.
This is definitely a lonely path. My girlfriend is a Christian and she gets to go to church and pray with her family but I don’t do these things so I just sit by myself on Sundays. I go outside in my backyard and garden but that only takes 5-30 min. I wish pagans had a “church”
Not being "judged" is a desire that I have. I can spend vast amounts of time not leaving the house but when I do, if I feel the eyes of judgment peering out from others, I never want to leave the house again. I don't get lonely in the life I lead today but TH-cam is a huge part of my network of like-minded people to share with.
This was lovely. I always feel I'm some of something so I don't always connect. And get lonely sometimes. Ive made it an intention to organically find my tribe. I've been lucky to be part of 3 covens and participated in open circles. Life throws hurdles to attending. I do feel the natural path and kitchen witchery and so end up on solitary practices.
April!! This is so me. I never fit in anywhere, not in my family (I was the 'black sheep'), not with my friends, not at a work place. In my healing journey, I have learned that it is vital & necessary to have very few but quality people in one's life than to have many low value people in our lives -- low value meaning energy suckers, negative nellies, etc. But I do get lonely, even knowing that quality over quantity is more important. Finding like minded friends, soul sisters is next to impossible where I live. To that end I am moving to a more amenable area up in the north woods in Ontario. It calls to me every day in shouts. Get to the woods. Create my circle of friends there who truly appreciate nature and spirit. I wish we lived closer so that we could be co-creative friends, supportive and making the world a good place.

It's funny you touched on this topic. I've been feeling a need to connect with other magickal people in real life. I don't really have anyone and I definitely feel many of those things that you mentioned: wanting to feel heard and seen and to connect with like-minded individuals. I have felt like this in the past but am grateful to have found my own path. I am lucky to live in a place where I can express this. We are having a Witches Revival weekend near the place where people were sentenced to death for being accused of witchcraft.( The Pendle Witches) There is a lot of healing and tolerance here .

I agree with this. I am looking into starting Reiki as well as stepping seriously into Herbalism, with a nod to my ancestral African side. So, once my surgery is done, I will look seriously into Reiki healing for myself. Then, herbalism THEN, even going back to school to finish degrees and the like.

April!! This video came at the perfect time for me. Having always felt 'out of place' even among people I know well, it is a very lonely place. And being new on my path, only four years in, I am still trying to find my true self, my magickal & powerful self. The only place I feel truly me and truly embraced is when I am out in Nature, surrounded by Mother Earth's beauty & abundance. I feel lost sometimes. Im 38. Nearly all my family has passed on. I have no female friends and the only men who take interest in me want to use me. Ive got my very autistic son who will likely never have kids and live a lonely life himself. I live in a small Tennessee town with a Christian college in it. Ive never fit in and couldn't make myself pretend to believe in Christianity. I was drawn to witchcraft because of my love of nature. Idk how to be a witch though. Seems like there are few unifrom beliefs among youtube witches.
Maybe your witchery is natural and comes from the heart. Witch is just a label. Just be you. Change is constant. You never know what is around the corner.... Don't give up on living life fully ❤️
When my coven broke up I was so angry and bitter I stopped practicing altogether for a while. I feel like I poured everything into that group and was left with nothing. Not sure I want to try again.
Its that wanting and longing for a community. It bugs me that the community I want is so scattered. A group of my friends and I want to live on a property with each other and create a community around us. A lot of us want that.
In addition to what you discussed (which very much has it's place), might I suggest adding the encouragement to people to grow into emotional resiliency--and emotional maturity. The exaggerated need to be "seen" is a product of insecurity, doubts about one's self-worth, and lingering aspects of psychological adolescence. Learning to live without an over-need of external validation not only brings about peace--but it balances our relationships so that we are neither burdensome nor being burdened.
I’ve never met a single person in real life who wasn’t glad to have at least a little attention or be noticed in a positive light. This is a very human thing, most are not exempt from it. You describe a very rare person indeed who can be THAT enlightened/mature. I don’t even know a single old person who fits that description, because even at that age people liked to be noticed, appreciated, talked to about the wisdom that they have obtained etc. They like attention. People like praise. It’s a very rare one that doesn’t.
I’ve been lonely in the crab since I came out of the broom closet, strangely, it was more social when I was in the broom closet. I miss being in the coven.
It's hard to find fellow witchy people in Decatur Indiana. It's a Lil religious town. And we can't keep a metaphysical shop longer than a year. Wish I had a least one person to connect with.
This popped up at just the right time for me. I have always been a solo practitioner - none of my friends on same or even similar path - would be nice to have like minded folks to chat with. This really hit home for me. I'm in small town Kansas, and I know there must be others. But trying to connect is so hard. Sometimes, it feels like I'm screaming into the void. This video came to me at perfect time. I've really been struggling with this a lot lately. I'm sorry we all have to experience this, but It's nice to know I'm not alone.
There are literally thousands of practitioners in the craft and yet so many practice alone. I do my own thing and keep to myself and don’t seek out the company of others as it seems there’s this competition of sorts at play and let’s compare each others tools or practice to either seem more “witchy” or “occult” and the dogma of right and wrong, accepted and unacceptable behaviors or this belief that might is right or they have generational validity. Why can’t people who practice just appreciate each other?
Good morning April, I would love online Zoom class. Have you also considered a retreat , perhaps in Oregon? I'm Gen Z, and intuition tells me many of your subscribers are, too. Growing up in Oregon, my grandpa would come visit. He shared his stories. I gained so much wisdom from these stories. He even put them on tape to remember. He gave so much of himself. However, my Mother, has dementia and is in Eldercare. I visit her regularly. It makes me so sad, that our elders used to share knowledge and now it's the complete opposite. Have you seen this trend? I feel we don't have the same channels that our ancestors had to gain wisdom. 🪄🧙♂️🧝♀️

As to class themes: communicating and honoring other life forms i.e. plants and animals, medication and why it's essential, I Ching, dream travel experiences, Edgar Cayce and channeling. Etc.

I left a big city where I wished for but didn't find a coven. Now I live in outside the US in a country where I barely speak the language and my chances of finding or making one are even slimmer. I crave a circle of friends. My whole life is centered around my spiritual practices, studying and writing, and the only thing it lacks is community.
Yep, somedays I accompany my sister to church, and I can sometimes sense and feel that sisterhood vibe they got going on. Though they're all about Christ, which is fine. I respect that, it's just not my thing, I want a similar vibe with other Pagans. Though when I actually do meet with other pagans, guess what. They all believe and practice different things. So it still feels... off. Have you even seen that movie the Wicker Man, remake. I always thought it was kind of cool how it was a community like that or even the movie the Village. I think to be honest, I think that's the only way to combat that kind of thing, is that people have to make the sacrifice, move and start something like that.
I had lost my connection to witchy people in 2018. No matter what I did groups I joined pub moots I went to it seemed like I was invisible and not apart of this world. I kept trying to figure out what was wrong with me. I am clairvoyant intuitive deep empath with INFJ traits. I can channel direct messages on paper from the other side. I always wanted to be a bridge to spirit to help with loved one connect to there family . I been told buy energy workers and readers I am meant to be a light worker to help with frequency work. How can I do that when there is no one for me to help? I have just become so frustrated I just have shut down. finding the information about Christina lopes 3 days ago now I understand.
We can do the work FOR the collective by doing the work on ourselves. We are not separated from one another. As you raise your vibration you help others. Just keep believing and loving, while rasing your vibe. People will come into your life at the right times to learn from and for you to give to!
If you could hear even a fraction of my journey, depending on your experience and beliefs, I think you would end up needing smelling salts. 😅 Just sayin'...😅

I don't let it bother me. Judgment is about the person judging, not me!
Yeah, I get it. Being judged is a loss of privacy and usually not even true, ignoring it helps. But like you, I love my sanctuary of a home!

April!! This video came at the perfect time for me. Having always felt 'out of place' even among people I know well, it is a very lonely place. And being new on my path, only four years in, I am still trying to find my true self, my magickal & powerful self. The only place I feel truly me and truly embraced is when I am out in Nature, surrounded by Mother Earth's beauty & abundance. Learning with others along the road, on this journey with them would be so wonderful. There aren't many groups here, and sadly, most you have to buy in to attend. I love the monthly gathering idea!! I’m in! Tired of hiding in a small Christian town here in California. The people I’ve me so far feel like wanna-be’s, egotistical or fake. I walked away from 3 groups. Tried to start my own only to deal with the above mentioned types of women. So, solitary it is ……😕

I feel lost sometimes. Im 38. Nearly all my family has passed on. I have no female friends and the only men who take interest in me want to use me. Ive got my very autistic son who will likely never have kids and live a lonely life himself. I live in a small Tennessee town with a Christian college in it. Ive never fit in and couldn't make myself pretend to believe in Christianity. I was drawn to witchcraft because of my love of nature. Idk how to be a witch though. Seems like there are few unifrom beliefs among youtube witches.
Maybe your witchery is natural and comes from the heart. Witch is just a label.
Just be you.
Change is constant. You never know what is around the corner....

When my coven broke up I was so angry and bitter I stopped practicing altogether for a while. I feel like I poured everything into that group and was left with nothing. Not sure I want to try again.
Life throws us so many curve balls. I hope your time alone has taught you much😀
Its that wanting and longing for a community. It bugs me that the community I want is so scattered. A group of my friends and I want to live on a property with each other and create a community around us. A lot of us want that.

In addition to what you discussed (which very much has it's place), might I suggest adding the encouragement to people to grow into emotional resiliency--and emotional maturity. The exaggerated need to be "seen" is a product of insecurity, doubts about one's self-worth, and lingering aspects of psychological adolescence.
Learning to live without an over-need of external validation not only brings about peace--but it balances our relationships so that we are neither burdensome nor being burdened.

I’ve never met a single person in real life who wasn’t glad to have at least a little attention or be noticed in a positive light. This is a very human thing, most are not exempt from it. You describe a very rare person indeed who can be THAT enlightened/mature. I don’t even know a single old person who fits that description, because even at that age people liked to be noticed, appreciated, talked to about the wisdom that they have obtained etc. They like attention. People like praise. It’s a very rare one that doesn’t.

It's hard to find fellow witchy people in Decatur Indiana. It's a Lil religious town. And we can't keep a metaphysical shop longer than a year. Wish I had a least one person to connect with.

There are literally thousands of practitioners in the craft and yet so many practice alone. I do my own thing and keep to myself and don’t seek out the company of others as it seems there’s this competition of sorts at play and let’s compare each others tools or practice to either seem more “witchy” or “occult” and the dogma of right and wrong, accepted and unacceptable behaviors or this belief that might is right or they have generational validity. Why can’t people who practice just appreciate each other?

I'm Gen Z, and intuition tells me many of your subscribers are, too. Growing up in Oregon, my grandpa would come visit. He shared his stories. I gained so much wisdom from these stories. He even put them on tape to remember. He gave so much of himself.
However, my Mother, has dementia and is in Eldercare. I visit her regularly. It makes me so sad, that our elders used to share knowledge and now it's the complete opposite.
Have you seen this trend? I feel we don't have the same channels that our ancestors had to gain wisdom. 🪄🧙♂️🧝♀️

As to class themes: communicating and honoring other life forms i.e. plants and animals, medication and why it's essential, I Ching, dream travel experiences, Edgar Cayce and channeling. Etc.

I left a big city where I wished for but didn't find a coven. Now I live in outside the US in a country where I barely speak the language and my chances of finding or making one are even slimmer. I crave a circle of friends. My whole life is centered around my spiritual practices, studying and writing, and the only thing it lacks is community.

Yep, somedays I accompany my sister to church, and I can sometimes sense and feel that sisterhood vibe they got going on. Though they're all about Christ, which is fine. I respect that, it's just not my thing, I want a similar vibe with other Pagans. Though when I actually do meet with other pagans, guess what. They all believe and practice different things. So it still feels... off.
Have you even seen that movie the Wicker Man, remake. I always thought it was kind of cool how it was a community like that or even the movie the Village. I think to be honest, I think that's the only way to combat that kind of thing, is that people have to make the sacrifice, move and start something like that.
I have never seen it and my husband always talks about that movie!

I had lost my connection to witchy people in 2018. No matter what I did groups I joined pub moots I went to it seemed like I was invisible and not apart of this world. I kept trying to figure out what was wrong with me. I am clairvoyant intuitive deep empath with INFJ traits. I can channel direct messages on paper from the other side. I always wanted to be a bridge to spirit to help with loved one connect to there family . I been told buy energy workers and readers I am meant to be a light worker to help with frequency work. How can I do that when there is no one for me to help? I have just become so frustrated I just have shut down. finding the information about Christina lopes 3 days ago now I understand.
We can do the work FOR the collective by doing the work on ourselves. We are not separated from one another.
As you raise your vibration you help others. Just keep believing and loving, while rasing your vibe.
