Aurora, it was great to get a tour of your apothecary!
Love your bottles, labels, and spell ingredients and the stories behind them.

What a coincidence! 😂 Yesterday, I finally cleaned out a wooden box where I stored packets of herbs and berries purchased from witch, herbal and health food stores. Every time I opened the box, there would be a luscious scent. But it was out of sight, out of mind. After getting down to the bottom of the box, I found plastic packets that were going opaque with disintegrating herbs from stores that closed over 10+ years ago. Some got tossed (although the lavender still had a scent), others I'm saving for a bonfire.
Incense, salt and other herbs (e.g., rose buds, bay leaves, cloves, chamomile, green tea) are stored in glass in my apothecary cabinet which is made from recycled wood and saguaro ribs. It was displayed outside a store in an arts district that I would walk through during my lunch hour. I wanted to buy it, but it cost more than I could afford. One day the cabinet was missing so I walked into the store. It had a sale sign. Apparently, it had blown over on a windy day (thank you air) and had a negligible dent. The store owner was cool, let me make payments. It has pride of place in my home. I've never tried to repair or paint over the dent. And it smells so good inside, sometimes I just open the door to take a whiff.
PS: I collect dead scorpions 🦂 (live ones get put outside) for protection/defensive magic.

OMG! I really want to see this cabinet! What a great idea for use of scorpions. We don't have any in my neck of the woods but we do have black widows. I don't find many dead spiders though.
Thanks, Evey, for your wonderful share! xo, Aurora

Great apothecary. Love your intuitive style. My plants are all stored in glass jars too. But everthing is distributed in the house. As long as I find what I need....

Hello Aurora, we all have jars of something we felt we didn't need to label (because we would remember). In my case I have a growing collection of water. Not only full moon and new moon, but also rain, thunderstorm and tornado water depending on what a working requires. I think we are all like magpies collecting special items. Thanks for the tour.

I always think of mine as like a calico cat. A patchwork of delights and I can't wait to share them! Thank you for tagging me.

I totally agree with you on trying not to put things in plastic! And I agree with the microwave as well (luckily my Dad got me a conventional air fryer and use that for warming things up now and also cooking lol) thanks for sharing 🥰

Yah, I haven't had one since I was in my 20's living in a shared house. I never purchased one as an adult. The toaster oven, coventional oven and and stove gets done everything I need to do.

@@LavenderHazelwood yes definitely I’ve been trying not to push my beliefs onto them but they get curious and I don’t want to hide it from them either. Luckily I grew up without religion and beliefs from my family. Kind of feel somewhat more open minded that way; not that growing up in a religious family makes you close minded. lol idk everyone’s experiences are different.

Great video Aurora! I love that you know about the officinalis designation! It's always so fun to run across that one. I'm wondering if the unidentified flowers are Mimosa flowers. It's always hard to tell from a video. If you remember the tree or where you found them . I could probably describe it. The tree sheds them copiously. xo, Colette

You're right! It was so cool to learn about the officionalis history. I really love thinking about that. Do you know the Italian perfume called, Santa Maria Novella? I loved learning about it's history and how their main scent is something we can still smell and use today....On another note: I looked up the photos of the Mimosa Tree and I think you're right. I think that's what those are from. I need to go back and look at the leaves to make sure though. Thank you for the intel on that, Colette! xo, A
