Always feels good to get back into the mountains. Windrock is famous for its EXTREME downhill bike park, but they have been quietly building "XC" trails over the past few years as well. What an awesome surprise with some really tough riding. A bit pricey, but still tons of fun.

I live 45 minutes from “The Rock” and it’s a super fun place to ride! We are very blessed and fortunate to have it as our local trails!!

Thanks for coming to Tennessee my man! I hope you guys left time to come check out the new additions to the Knoxville greenway in Knoxville TN! That XC looks like my kind of XC! I did like the initial videos -stories, history, riding with others, and eating things more exciting than Uncrustables...but hey- these videos are still great as many of us limit travel and live vicariously thru you. Plus- it just means you’ll have to do it again in the future!

When you come to Arkansas you have to check out the new Monument Trail system on Mt. Nebo in Dardanelle. Almost 30 miles of awesomeness.

The number 6 on the top trails to ride here is Pontiac Lake trail in Waterford. The number 1 trail is Copper Harbour Trail in the Upper Peninsula. Pontiac Lake is 30 minutes from me. If you go there I’d love to meet one of my favorite TH-camrs lol

Right on you for discussing $28 for access to a private trail network! Trails don't build themselves - Excellent content!
Zero of your entry fee goes to build or maintain those trails. Those trails are all built by volunteers with their own money.

@@joshblum6245 Myself and one other guy have built and maintained those trails since 2009 when we stopped building at the DH side. While, we don't get any of that $28, we do get acres and acres of raw, natural, untapped terrain to build whatever we want.Truth be known, we only really build those trails for ourselves and our friends. We are happy that others ride them and enjoy themselves, but we never do it for the money. All of those trails are hand built with nothing but Rogue Hoes and saws. Don't need money to build trails.
Wow, that Sarah is a keeper; she was born to ride trails and has a great attitude when gravity takes her down. Don’t let that one go, she adds balance to your adventures.
When you come to Ohio I would love to show you around some trails! Northeast Ohio has some pretty cool stuff!

Exactly. I always feel like a wimp when I talk to someone out west in a dry climate putting in 16 mile rides and i'm like "yeah... I rode 8 mi...." the tech (and humidity if it's summer) take it out of you.
Also... North Side is a great 1st descent warm up lap... not that advice after the fact is very useful *shrug*

If you're not shuttling and just riding windrock XC, hit it on a weekday and it's only $10
That is incorrect. You can self shuttle during the week on the DH trails for $10. The XC trails are under the regular land use permit and is completely different than the DH fees.
@@Hdferguson3 Gotcha, sounds like I was previously given the wrong info. I just checked with the general store....$28 for the XC/land use permit. Bummer.

Very cool video B, I really like this trail ( Beautiful ) but, $28.00 mmmmmmm.... You've always been a pretty jovial guy but, You seen so much more happier in a complete kind of way. Sarah has seemed to have a truly positive impact on you not that you weren't positive already but, more. I wouldn't take her back to ATL (ever), Back to (The Bay) permanently. BKXC \ SKXC U know what I mean ? and it not too much man.... Its what it is. It doesn't get any better than this.
BKXC when you come to PA there is an awesome trail system with some fun stuff near Scranton PA. Dick and Nancy is the name on trailforks. Genes trail to stone henge to blueberry is the way to go.
Great video as usual and full of lots of fun educational and good content. Good to see even you still are afraid sometimes. Reminds me that fear can be good. ;) Aw bummer you had to temporarily part ways with Sarah she seems so nice and y'all seem really happy. Still so excited to see what else you've got lined up. I really enjoy your videos. I'm going to start mountain biking because of them. I need a sport I can do without having to spend years and years and years training but can spend the years learning as I ride and enjoying the journey.
The main takeaway from BKXC videos for me is to pick new lines that I'm uncomfortable with. I'm an XC rider, mostly focused on speed and fitness, so I tend to find the path of least resistance. In the past couple months, I've sought out nastier lines to test myself and grow. So, thanks Brian...good inspiration!

Will be interesting to see where you decide to ride in Wyoming (there is of course the obvious draws of Teton Pass and Grand Targhee bike park). I think a friend of mine emailed you about stuff in southern WY, a little while back.
Strange schedule: he’s spending the heat of the summer in the south...there’s a lot of northern states to hit and the weather’s good now.
It's been hot AF in Colorado and Wyoming recently, and dry as a bone, so wildfire season is hitting with a vengence.
I think he was trying to knock out the southern states at the beginning of the year and then move up to the upper states in the midsummer but had quite a big delay because of Covid.
Holy i didn't realize how early it gets dark there. Where I live in Canada it doesn't get dark until 10:30

Can't wait for an Ohio episode. Favorite trails in my state, keep in mind I live near Columbus. Mohican (long xc), Horns Hill huge new builds this year (Downhill and jumps), Chestnut Ridge for a little of both. Honorary mention to vulture's knob, I haven't made it out there yet.

I would guess if doing Ohio you would go somewhere in the Wayne National Forest. Strouds Run or Lake Hope.
For people complaining about the $28, it is 100 for an annual pass (for those who live close). Which is a hell of a deal for single track hand cut by volunteers. These trails were built by hand from the OG windrock DH trail builders. Windrock takes the money, but the core keeps and maintains it. Well worth the money.

Brian is performing a reverse migration... he is doing the south in the spring/summer and going north in the fall/winter. Good test for the van since everyone else goes south in the winter.

I had someone fall also on a trail that I took them on. I definitely could of done a better job of warning when things got gnarly. I felt so horrible the rest of the day, cause I totally took responsibility for the fall.

It's a big year for ticks! Last year I sprayed my shoes (not skin!) with permethrin, and I had no ticks all summer. This year, I haven't and have had 4 ticks and some suspicious symptoms! 😬 Also have used picaridin (can use on skin) but it doesn't last very long... What do you do? Welcome to the humidity...
