    As always great tutorial. :) Condensed info and practial approach. You are great - it appears You are almost sole competent channel for knowledge about SpeedTree - keep it that way - keep it specialized. Don't change Your channel to on of this this "Introduction to Blender" channels. Keep as dedicated as You are and 3D Hobbyst channel will bloom faster then all these plants You are creating here :) Keep them coming and people will too. That's it :)
    Put a word or two in wind topic if You can.

      Thank you very much! I like 3d in general but especially 3d environments. Also, I'll try to consider wind for future speedtree videos.

    I am having an issue I want to add an extention branch but I dont have that option in my drop down. What version of this programmer are you ussing ?

    • @3dhobbyist296
      @3dhobbyist296  ปีที่แล้ว +7

      I'm using the 9.0.0 version. Anyway you can achieve the same result by:
      - Adding a branch generator
      - Then, in the Gen tab make sure the Mode is set in "Absolute".
      - Then below, change the Number parameter to 0.
      - At the bottom change "Extend parent" from None to Any.

    I'm interested in creating my own models for landscape design rendering in Lumion, but I'm completely new to Speed Tree. Honestly, the learning curve is pretty overwhelming at this time. I was searching for good quality oak trees on sketchup's database and couldn't find anything, and decided I may be able to make it myself, along with other Florida native plants that seem to be completely absent from 3D modeling databases. Your tutorial gives me a generous amount of hope... I guess my question is, is it worth it? Should I get the Indie subscription and go for it? Do you do private lessons? Haha!

    • @3dhobbyist296
      @3dhobbyist296  ปีที่แล้ว

      You can try it! You can build really good models with just a couple of generators and a few node edits, of course if you need something a more specific you'll to need to spend more time (and use more generators) but speedtree helps a lot in the process. You can email me at 3dhobbyist01@gmail.com if you need help.

    Hey, nice tutorial. I have one question - where did you get all of this textures? Is it your own photos?

    • @3dhobbyist296
      @3dhobbyist296  ปีที่แล้ว

      Almost all of them were masked from images on the internet, then edited in photoshop, and for the normal and roughness map I used Materialize PBR

    Hi! great tutorial, 1 question. How and where do you get the textures for your model and do you know a way how to create your own based on a real leaf?

    • @3dhobbyist296
      @3dhobbyist296  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Most of the textures in my tutorials were made by mixing images from the internet in photoshop (if I can't find a good image of the leaves I try to search for a similar specie), that way I create the color texture, then I use Materialize (free) to create the normal and roughness. For the subsurface color I use the color map but with changes in the RGB channels. The result sometimes is not so good. I know scanned textures look better but most of the times I make plants that are not in any scan library.

      @@tjeerdroukens5110buy easy foliage for games course by FastTrack Tutorials on gumroad/FlippedNormals/artstation.
      Emiel Sleegers teaches you how to scan your own leaves and make your own textures as well.
      It's price is $30 , during the sale it's $20.
      And if u wanna know the process behind scanning your own tree bark and converting it to a full tree
      Then get his new course - ultimate photogrammetry course however this one is a bit more expensive
      $59.
      But during the sale u can get it for less than $45-50.
      It teaches you how to scan other things as well.

    • @3dhobbyist296
      @3dhobbyist296  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      An extension is a quick preset. If you can't find it then you can achieve the same result by:
      - Adding a branch generator
      - Then, in the Gen tab make sure the Mode is set in "Absolute".
      - Then below, change the Number parameter to 0.
