What concerns me most is how many other brilliant TH-cam channels are there like this one that I know absolutely nothing about? I believe you said your last video was your longest? Please don't let long videos get in the way of frequency. Post stuff like taking out the garbage, meal prep for Sunday dinner, driving to the dentist, etc. I'll watch it all. I promise.
@@martinnobbs5055 Thank you for the recommendations. I don't really care as much about what he does so much as his he does it. I live in Utah. Sundance Film Festival is going on right now. I've seen a lot of it over the years. Some of what I find on TH-cam is better than Sundance's best.
Those pumps do go AWOL if left standing, check it is pumping, before going down other rabbit holes. Great videos, and if this is not a project... You have gone down the classic route of all major rebuilds.
I’m going to systematically go through the entire ignition and injection system. I’m looking forward to it. There are many small thing I see that need plugging back in or reconnecting or cleaning up - but I’m saving it all and resisting the temptation to get side tracked 🤣.
Great stuff. Turns out I have the same model creeper! They’re made by ikea. And Panasonic, and Target, and Hoover, and Westinghouse. Oh, Coopers also make a compact version…
I caught myself holding my breath while you tried starting the Land Rover. Then I realized, one always does it when trying to start a Land Rover, well I do.
Great job on this project.... @ 8:00 "I'm trying not to let this quick repair get out of hand...." Heh heh heh! Ohhh Geoffrey.... Oh my. It's already way out of hand... WAY out of hand.... But, that's why we love you. That's why we're here.... And, the angry face you throw on the screen sometimes.... but mostly, it's because when you do a thing, you have a real knack to over-do the thing....
Your boot floor is taking less time than my Mini's! Bloody hell if i Just found some time haha ( other than time used for TH-cam videos like yours xD )
These are lovely and all, but I miss the Series III project! You're so close!! I need to watch you make progress so I can continue avoiding making progress on my own!
Fantastic fix on the bout floor 😊She will start buddy 👍🏻 Rain 🌧️ just like Manchester England 🏴 lol 😆 Looking forward to seeing the next episode 🤩
Love a CROKER restoration video. Very satisfying work done at the rear there, make sure the rear door and seal are good so they don’t undo all your hard work!
Geoff the fan tail made me crease up with laughter, I would love to come round and give you a hand but I live in Dorset England. But we do have crappy cars and rain in common, keep up the good work this is the best channel on the tube! ps dont be so tight and buy yourself a car creeper!
Get a single burner hot plate from Amazon for 20$ for the shop. Put a pan of water on to boil, put the hose end into the water until it softens. I work on old farm equipment with harden hoses and this method never fails, provided of course the hose don't split! p.s. You can't beat cardboard on concrete. I have a brand new creeper hanging on the wall for 4 years, never used it. I save every big piece of cardboard I find.
18:30 The struggle is real!!! Fuel tanks are no fun on your back alone. That engine sounds tired! Maybe just from sitting 6 months, but it's got a rhythm when you were crankingnit that sounds like a bad/no compression cylinder .. Hope Not! Thanks for sharing 🇨🇦
Loved the video, keep them coming. - I fractured my tail bone recently incredible pain. incredible pain relief from the doctors. Hope your bruising heals quick.
Just discovered this recently and it's the perfect not-a-project to watch while waiting for Soup Classic Motoring and Project Binky to update. The humour and narration reminds me of Nigel Billingsley our of Jumanji haha. I have always wanted one of these Discoverys but after watching your findings so far, scares me off. I love the choice of background music that keeps sounding like it's leading up to some major scare but suddenly stops, perfect comedy timing! Subscribed so I don't miss the upcoming year(s) of fun!
I think British Aerospace(?) owned the remains of British Leyland during the early 90’s. BMW bought it all in 94. Ford bought Land Rover and Jaguar from them in early 2000’s-ish and BMW kept Mini and dumped the rest for £1. Something like that.
Nice work! I feel your pain doing a million plug welds. I replaced the floor pans and trunk pan in my project. I use an end mill bit in my drill to remove the paint in the plug weld hole before welding. These bits have a flat end and easily remove the primer/paint that's in the hole. I use epoxy primer instead of weld-through primer. Amazon has the bits for pretty cheap. Just match the bit diameter with the hole diameter.
Ok wow that floor looks amazing. Also, the rage making an-almost comeback a few times there just had me rolling. Love your humor! And holy crap you were able to get the tank installed by yourself!!!
I used undercoat procedure from Dinitrol that was painted on with compressed air. First was a base layer of oily "cavitywax" more like cavity oil, and topcoat of rock protection. Endresult was awesome and has been held well for few years now. before i used some cheap stuff that you painted on, and every year i had to apply more as the old stuff started cracking. Only mistake i did was the fact that it really does get everywhere.. should have covered the whole exthauspipe and outside of the car.. cant figure how the undercoat got to the roof and sides and glass if i was painting from the underside lol. spend more time washing the paint and glass as the end result
Love your vids!! Super inspirational! Such high level of quality finish.. Ive got the same combo going on with my 96 disco1 and a 77 series3 88inch up here in Auckland. Youve shown how it can be done right. Cheers.
Love your videos, always a good day to see a new one drop! For your fuel problem, you don't need to crank the engine to get fuel pumping. When the key is turned to 2, the fuel pump runs for 2 seconds to pressurize the system. You should hear the fuel pump whirl away if you kneel back by it. Alternatively, you can pull the fuel pump relay and make a jumper wire to hot wire the pump till fuel is flowing. Can't wait for the next video!
I've been waiting on the edge of my seat for a month! Thanks! Hands down the best D1 Recovery Video on youtube; an inspiration to all of us. I just hope you finish this before you get a major TV Network deal.

Oooh, a “will it run?” restoration video. It’s a Land Rover so the answer is “no”! Starter motor sounds good though.
Memories of me doing this (reinstalling a fuel tank) to my sigma ... many, many laps around the sun ago.
