Nicely done. Rolling restorations are the only option really when you have to still use the vehicle on a semi regular basis. I restored a 79 Jaguar XJ6 in my driveway many years ago, and had to always have it movable so not to block in my 2 vehicles in the garage. It has its limitations but keeps you focused. One thing at a time. Something that baffles me about Land Rovers and British cars in general, is that considering they are built in a part of the world that can be very damp; corrosion prevention is nonexistent. Interesting video. Very nice Discovery.👌
Agreed, as you say it helps keeps focus. A good way to prevent it from becoming a forever project. Yeah I've wondered about that myself. I wouldn't say "non-existent", though. Isn't that why all the oil leaks were designed into them ; )
Superb work on the restoration! I’m currently working on my 98 Disco 1 300Tdi, was wondering if you could send me a link where to get all the parts. Cheers!
Thanks. I got the parts from various different suppliers and local LR 2nd hand parts dealers. If you want to know about any specific part I can try to help. Cheers.
Great work on the restoration. My son has a 95 V8 auto D1 and has a few of the issues that you have had. Would you be able to tell me where you purchased the transfer /CDL decal from please ? I noticed you were missing the decal in the centre of the steering wheel , did you find a replacement for it as we have searched and have had no luck. Thanks Paul.
@@Paul-45-70 Thanks. I bought the CDL decal off Ebay: www.ebay.com/itm/293963214369?epid=1577933595&hash=item447192ae21:g:JIYAAOSwq8lgByNk I didn't think the airbag steering wheels had a centre decal(?)
I had a 96 model. The amount of money I spent far exceeds what I spent on my wife. I could not stop oil leaks coming from the engine and power steering. Also I notice that you have gotten rid of the sun roof. Thank god I sold mine to a young chap. Now it’s his project/problem. I also have a complete set of carpets. New and in beige both front and rear should anyone need them
Ha, well you know what they say; don't start worrying until the oil suddenly stops leaking. As much as I like sunroof's, it's probably not worth it on an old Disco as I guess you know. 👍
I sold them and don't remember. But I know they are 15" and they needed specific wheel nuts to centre them. They also had quite a bit more offset than the factory ones, I remember they poked out of the guards a bit.
Thanks! I just got a generic one from Jaycar Electronics. I only changed the one for the rear door and it fit/worked perfectly. Don't know if it would also work for the other doors though.
@@TheNight-Rider Have you had issues with opening the drivers door? How do you fix that? Mine needs to be pushed in to then open...weird and frustrating.
Hi. i admire your work. I'm restoring my Disco 1 and I have a problem with this transmission rod. Can I have an email to write a private message? Regards, Asia
Nice job but personally I would not call that a restoration, more like a catch up on routine maintenance and repairs. But good video editing I liked it.

great looking truck, a lot of work done to it
Lovely refurb mate! Just got a 94 v8 disco myself and would be working on pretty much everything you’ve done. I see you’re also in NZ asw lol
Cheers. Nice, I kinda like the pre-facelift look slightly more than facelift. Good to see more of these old Disco's being restored. Good luck.
Im just doing same on my v8, always projects to do keep up good work
Nice, good work.
Hello! I recently finished restoring my 95 300 tdi and I had to do the same things as you. Well I had to change the head...
Good job 👍

@@TheNight-Rider , thank you. My sons car doesn’t have an airbag so you are probably right. Thanks again.
Great work.
Where did you get that top glove box?
Thanks. Ah, maybe you're looking at the passenger airbag?

Question what style are those black wheels I really like them what are called ? Thanks

I did put a blaupunkt Madrid radio to stay kind on the same aesthetic
Nice, I'm sure it looks good. I wanted to go for a Blaupunkt sqr46, but they are hard to justify at that price point.

Standard brakes or upgrading?
