Man, I've been on a nostalgia trip. I remember opening my presents Christmas morning 2006. I remember setting everything up and being greeted with the blades dashboard.
I think the reason why I like it was the simplicity and sleek Ui design. There were no advertisements taking up majority of the screen, no tile boxes. Just 6 separate rows for everything you needed.

The Midway sticker, copy of Stranglehold, and overall condition of the unit implies this may have been a free console that was given to members of the development team as a thank you for their work on the game. My guess is that the CA number on the sticker is some kind of employee number or possibly a location reference. Perhaps the CA stands for California or Canada?

I find your last statement to be rather odd. The Xbox 360s were manufactured from 2002-2011. The blades dashboard was first released with version 1.28 of the dashboard. Upon further research I found that this update was released on Nov. 14 initially for already existing Xbox systems. When I looked up the manufacturer website for IE Systems, the factory used to produce Xbox systems, I found that batches made from Nov. 12-19 2005 actually did not ship with the blades dashboard but the experimental slice dashboard that was later phased out only 20 days after release.

I had an arcade 360 in the UK that I got for Christmas in 2008. Came with a memory card and the blades dashboard. I was honestly amazed as a kid that my memory card was 256 MBs as my PS2 only had 8.
Took me a good few months to get it onto Live so I was surprisingly familiar with the blades dashboard before which made this video surprisingly nostalgic. I really miss this era of UI design and packaging, it just felt so much more alive.

My buddy got one on launch day in 2005. Kmart had a midnite launch and you could only get in if you had a ticket, which you got when you pre ordered and fully paid off the the core or the "fancy" one as people called it then. They only had about 100 units. My friend waited in line for a few hours in the snow in a long line which went from the parking lot all the way to electronics which took forever. People tried to sneak in without tickets and where taken out. That day later his friend at work told him his edition, the fancy/ pro one, was selling for one thousand on eBay. He called me debating but decided to keep it. His edition got the red ring early sadly. I myself waited and picked up the slim edition on launch.

I had a memory card for my first 360. It was 700 something MB. It's about the same size as a PS1 memory card with a different connection type. If all you needed was to make an account and save your game then it would do you just fine.

It's a used console, definitely not brand new but it is in great condition, clean, working order and for you it has the classic blades operating system. At $300 dollars though it's overpriced simply because it's not brand new. A used 360 "blades" console I'd say $200 but keep it safe, it will increase in price over time.

id definitely leave that unit alone and not use it. it was definitely a midway console bought by them to dev and test games. id not even turn it on. its a xenon motherboard with the 90nm cpu/gpu. those things RROD all the time. i dont even know if microsoft will still repair them or not anymore, even though there was a huge stink about all the units having RROD and failing. the fact that the casing looks that clean and has that midway product asset tag means it was never returned to microsoft, ever. if it had for any reason it would have had that sticker removed and been fitted with an opus motherboard which would have a 65nm cpu and 90nm gpu with no hdmi. but even those get RROD. my current xbox 360 i purchased brand new and i checked the production sticker on it before purchase and its a jasper console with hdmi, the manufacture date gives it away. i bought it in 2010. in 2021 its still kicking with no RROD error EVER!

Why would the seller have to open the Xbox to make sure everything was there and like new? If it's like new ita factory sealed. So you know everything is in there. Because it's still sealed. ??? That is not a like new console. May be in great condition but it was opened and probably played.
