Imagine its 2007…its Friday, you just got off work, you are driving home…you see a blockbuster and a pizza hut, you decide why not and you stop at pizza hut and order a nice cheesewheel for yourself with some wings, then you head over to blockbuster while waiting for your food, browse, grab a couple games and a movie maybe some snacks if you are feeling it, then you head over grab your food and get home, fire up your PS3/Xbox360 and enjoy your weekend. Gone but not forgotten are those good days

Hastings used to sell their ex-rental games and movies with those stickers on the disc hub so those were old rental games . They constantly had good bulk deals on their used media . I never bought games there much , but I'd get stacks of expensive foreign films and Criterions and stuff . It was a fun store while it lasted , it had a coffee shop inside , sold books and pop culture type items of all kinds . Our old Hastings is now a retro video game store so it's all good .
I missed when ours had its going out of business sale... I still regret it.

The console sounds take me right back to the Christmas my parents got me this to replace my Halo 3 360. Having the different sounds wowed me so much back then. Today it feels like the beginning of the end of that era of gaming...
It truly is man. I still remember all this stuff. Specially after the wii u and 3ds eshops closing down, and now the xbox stores closing down. It is the definition of the end of an era. I think that blockbuster ending spelled the end of the late 2000's for me.
Us 90s-early 2000s kids got lucky to experience this era of gaming...
I miss Hastings. It was basically a tornado of stuff that you really never knew what they had until you browsed, so it was always an adventure.

Hastings is / was like a Blockbuster & spencers gifts put together essentially. They had movies, videogames, books, comics & toys, pop culture stuff etc... ! I had so many memories there growing up, but sadly it's been closed down 😢

Not a lot of people remember Hastings but it was great place that sold books, vinyls, clothes trinkets & a assortment of videogames. I remember going there with a friend in high school. I was sad when it closed up.

hastings used to be a store that was kind of like a less edgy hot topic, had games, movies, music could rent or buy, had a bunch of used stuff you could buy too, they went out of business around the time the dude bought the first game. they was located around west texas and new mexico.
Hastings was my store. I bought so many games there. I got quite a few figures and shirts there as well. It made me mad though when they took the GameStop approach of opening new games and selling them as new when clearly they weren't anymore. I still have my renters card from Hastings, I miss that store.

Hastings went out of business in 2016, at least the one in Lubbock did.

@@bigdiggle5036 The whole company shut down in 2016 because the company executives drove the company into bankruptcy wasting company money on themselves. Which sucked cause my store in Tennessee was thriving and everyone was scratching their heads as to why the store was closing, then of course it was revealed why.
Bro btw, hastings was basically blockbuster that also sold games, books, posters and my former local hastings even had a small whole foods type store attached. It suffered the same fate blockbuster did, closing down for good in 2016.

There is a very rare phat PS2. It has 4 controller ports with 4 memory card slots. It would be amazing to see that featured on the channel. It's rare enough I bring it up and no ones heard of it.

The holes in the handles is due to the weight being too much for the box. You're lucky it didn't buckle and drop the contents and ruin it.
I went to my local game store in 2019, picked up that same 360 for $70. Funny enough it came with a mw3 controller instad. got it RGH'd last Decemeber and haven't looked back. I am in my senior year of college and my roomates and I have being playing the hell out it.
We used to have a Hastings, they did rent out games. It was great before they shut down, was a great place to rent games and movies and have some coffee while hanging out. They had other things as well, but movies, games and coffee was all I cared about.
4 Y's is a default to bypass the parental controls if say for example you forgot the code or purchased a console that already had it, I got a Xbox 360 from a pawn shop ages ago for like $60 and had to google how to get rid of the parental controls and it said to use 4 Y's

Hastings was a chain store that rent and sold video games, movies, music albums, and books. It was my go to place throughout my life. All the stores closed down in 2017. I still miss that place.
Once my friend got the Halo Reach Xbox I remember we turned it off and on quite a few times, the sound just never got old lol
Hastings was FANTASTIC. They had one in the town where I went to college. It was like a Best Buy meets K-Mart meets Barnes & Noble meets Starbucks. It was great

Hastings use to be in the midwest. I live in Nebraska and there use to be Hastings everywhere but most of them closed down probably 10 years ago. It was a good store if you wanted anything with video games, music, books, etc. I remember you could even rent consoles there too as well as games

Hastings was a book store, had some in washington. They also sold video games and had a rentals section.

10:10 my original xbox 360 pro from when i was like 11 years old, still has that gears of war sticker on it. planning on finding a controller somewhere and seeing if i can get it playing games again. really miss playing skate 3

RIP to Hastings. Had one nearby in Auburn Alabama where I lived and it had everything you wanted. If you wanted a movie no matter how hard to find they had it and cheap. Same with games. You are missed everyday Hastings. No stores like you anymore

I can only imagine if I were to sell my console and pack it in a box like that with all of the game cases in there, put in properly, but then the packing materials get ripped out along the way for some reason and then they're all jostled about, resulting in something like at 0:17 into the video.

They were glorious, basically a Movie Trading Company with music, records, shirts like Hot Topic, pop culture toys and collectibles and you rent movies just like Blockbuster. I grew up outside of Houston so we never had one close since they usually were in small towns but you were hella lucky if you had one in yours.
Is it possible to change the case? I have the same console but its not showing a display. I also have another working 360 so if i could switch the plastics i would have a working reach console complete in box.

That Halo Reach Edition Xbox 360 Slim looks pretty nice as hell. I just love seeing old video games with the receipts still in them, it makes it feel nostalgic. You should buy the Halo 4 Edition Xbox 360 Slim.
I have a Halo 3 edition 360 with 3 rings. The fan is gnarly loud on it and it shuts off after a few mins so it’s in storage until I get around to maybe fixing it but I doubt it’s even worth it

Bulletstorm is an awesome game. especially if you have the Full Clip Edition with the Duke Nukem tour which changes the Main character into Duke Nukem. Fully voiced with new voice lines by the original voice actor for Duke. You can then play through the campaign as Duke Nukem, who is obviously pretty confused as to why he is suddenly in this game, and everyone calling him by the original characters name.
Imagine if you still used those accounts then all of a sudden you get a message your already signed in with another device
