I recently ran into an Xbox 360 with parental controls locked, if you register the serial number on your Microsoft account, you can get a button combination to factory reset the system.
I have replaced MANY Xbox 360 disc drive belts and I specifically remember all the drives I replaced them on were slow after replacing the belt and would commonly go back into the console automatically because the system doesn't think the disc disc drive has ejected fully or is stuck. After a little bit of use though the belt would stretch a little and the drive would go back to working normally. The OG Xbox's use the same belt too, except of the OG Thompson disc drive, those use a bigger belt.
I also remember having like a 1 in a million situation with passwords when I was a kid. I was playing RuneScape back then before they changed to emails for logging in and one time I accidentally mistyped one of the numbers in my username and it logged into a completely different account. So basically they had the exact same password but their username differed by one number, I was so confused when I got into the game
You’re wrong about the warranty stickers. The sticker that’s shiny and says “Void” is the original “Microsoft” sticker and the one you said was “Real” is the Microsoft refurbished sticker that they put after they repaired an Xbox. So they’re both real Microsoft stickers. Shiny sticker said “Microsoft” before it was peeled off to revel “Void”. The paper sticker is the refurbished/repaired sticker.
I’m not saying you’re wrong, but your experience here is completely different than mine. I’ve opened up 50+ Xbox 360 consoles in the past 15 years and have never seen a shiny warranty sticker that wide. They’ve always been skinny. I’ve also seen Xbox 360s with only the paper warranty seal, including my brand new jasper that I purchased back in 2009/2010. So something isn’t adding up here lol. I’m trying to find photos of this wide shiny warranty sticker online and can’t find any
I’m honestly just curious because now I want to see that wide shiny warranty seal intact on a console lol curious to see what it looks like when it hasn’t been peeled
I can confirm that the shiny sticker is a sticker for refurbished consoles. The paper one is a genuine, non refurbished console so you have this wrong. I've opened numerous 360's and have seen it all.
@@zesped1259White trashey stereotype for xbox players, they drink soda all day and are very dirty. Hence the soda spillage and terrible condition of the console. Nothing more than a joke in America bc honestly anyone who plays video games can get somewhat like this at times.
That "weird" sound the console is making when opening the disc tray is actually the gears that open the disc tray attempting to open it. They need a rubber band to wrap wround them, and if they don't have one, it doesn't open and makes that noise. I found out the hard way after removing the rubber band from my brother's 360 when I was 7, trying to "fix" the disc drive.
The hard drive that sounded so loud sounds like the disc drive had gotten worn out, and somebody made it worse by hamming the Xbox Console to force it open
All Xbox 360 consoles has an opening disc problem depending on the condition, opening and closing is most likely a wear and tear overtime because it’s made out of plastic, Microsoft removes the sliding door disc, and turn it into a sliding disc drive (because there’s been a lot of reports of Xbox Consoles having a hard time opening the disc tray, so now these days, every consoles are now having the slide-to-play drives
Btw you’re wrong about the warranty stickers. Both of those are legit. The Xbox 360’s shipped with the shiny sticker, but when they came in for repairs or replacements we would put the paper stickers on top or next to the OEM stickers. They never said void because it was paper, but each repair would be noted with the serial number.
@@jrob0021 Xbox 360 chrome warranty stickers were replaced around 2008 for the paper seals after the Elite was released permanently. But the change didn’t take full effect around until 2009… it was after Michael Jackson’s death. I remember that because it was a mess!

Idk if you solder at all, but just in case you get another parental locked one: you can get the reset code by dumping the nand with a pi pico or other nand reader. You dont have to mod it or anything (although you should, its fun!)
I got around parental controls on my Xbox 360 E but connecting it to the internet and then calling Microsoft support and they were able to find the code and get me past the controls, worked perfectly. They were a little confused by my phone call because they don’t get that kind of call often or at all but they were friendly and actually helped
Im not sure, but that yellow colour on the 360 gpu paste could be hot glue, it looks like glue and specifically hot glue tends to have a yellow colour after a few years
You can remove the parental controls password on an Xbox 360 by adding the console to your Microsoft account on a pc using the serial number. The console doesn't even have to be on the internet for it to work because Microsoft can generate the reset code based on the serial number. When you add an Xbox to your account, you view it in "manage devices" and there will be a button that says "Reset pass code". When you press it, it shows you how to reset the code. It will tell you to go to the system info screen, type in the button combo to access the reset screen, then type in the reset code. The only time this doesn't work is if someone already linked the Xbox to their Microsoft account, but that is extremely rare from what I've seen since there's no other reason to do it besides this. Edit: I see you said in another comment that you've tried it before and it didn't work, maybe it would be worth trying again next time you have this problem. 🤷♂

The pizza answer and the simple passcode tells me that it was an attempt of the kids themselves setting it to try to lock their consoles out from siblings etc. I know I did that.
