Revisiting this video after the order has come in from government for parks to be kept open from morning till 10PM, its a good step forward from the horrific arbitrary timings of the past
Just wanted to thank you for your beautiful videos and essays. Very nostalgic reliving the city through your videos. Hoping there could be some definite changes to reverse the intense damages done. ❤
I think we should teach our younger generation a sense of belonging so that even if the park is open during lunch hours the park is not dirty or messy. Making and teaching them to use the bin. Other point the park cleaners should have a proper space to have their lunch and not on the roadside u know. All in all a very good video, nice and well interpreted. Hope to see more from you guys. That fire cracker was like a gunshot 😂
While I agree that "over fencing" does happen in parks (and certain footpaths) around the city, without fencing of any kind (like the open parks in cities like London) these parks tend to be a refuge for the homeless. If kept open through the night they become a haven for alcoholics and druggies. The park is a safe space for children and families, without gatekeeping of any kind, it's no better than anywhere else. The gatekeeping _obviously_ shouldn't apply to the cleaners of the park. The line needs to be drawn to accommodate them, however, a line is necessary. There are too many weirdos out there endangering kids.
Reasons for fancing the park: 1. To keep stray animals away 2. To keep unsocial elements away 3. To keep out couples making out . 4. To avoid littering/ garbage dumping 5. To avoid unauthorized parking and land grabbing.
I'm an unmarried man in his 30s and I feel like a paraiah every time I enter one of these parks. I grew up hearing incidences of moral policing and now I feel like it's not a safe space for unmarried young people like me.
The park in front of my house was supposed to have completed renovation by January 2023, but unfortunately work has stopped in November 2022 with only 30% of work having been completed. What can be done about this ?
So, they're asking for your caste or income certificate to enter the park? How absurd! It's frustrating dealing with these so-called "educated" individuals who so generously provide their unsolicited social commentary without any basis. When you live exclusively in such social media echo chambers, you see these things everywhere even if its something else. In my thirty years of using parks, I've seen people from all walks of life enjoying them. I have never ever seen some one asked to leave the park based on how they look or what they are wearing, etc. The demographics of park-goers simply reflect the neighborhoods they're in. Just because you reside in an expensive neighbourhood, you find affluent local residents using the local park, doesnt mean it gives you any meaningful data. Small sample sizes often lead to chance findings, which is highly innacurate. Just because stuffing every aspect of life with caste/class commentary makes you kinda sound hip and intellectual, doesnt mean you overuse it in every irrelevant context. Assuming segregation or discrimination based on such flimsy evidence only adds unnecessary conflict and contributes to already saturated political agendas.
Very good work. Malls and restaurants open throughout the day and parks not is a sure shot recipe to an unhealthy population.
A consumerist society wants to keep you where you can spend much money.
I absolutely agree with you when it comes to parks being open 24hrs and with no fences.
Wow, what an interesting view into the challenges and design of public infrastructure in a place so unlike mine. Very nice video.
Fixed timing ❌

Bro, Thanks to your video, we got public parks opening from 5am to 10 pm now.
I love your video bro. Can't find these kind of relevant videos easily around infastructure which also talks about social problems.

Absolutely on point, we have a segregated society by both class and caste.

I love this channel. God bless you and your work.
Public spaces should be for everyone.
Why no parks in Marathahalli, Bellandur, Kadubeesanahalli, Sarjapur road and nearby areas?

All that is fine, but did you thank Hon'ble MLA Sri S Raghu for maintaining this park?
S Raghu can be seen only in 2D
Does your boss thank you everyday for showing up kanna?
What % of the park can we shift delete?
