  • Most of the ergonomic keyboards on the market are horrifically difficult to learn - with a crazy high price tag to boot. X-BOWS think they've solved both, with their mechanical ergonomic keyboard. Here's my full review!

Very good video! I like the idea and the design of the x-bows very much, and I am wondering if it is worth it. The point that you made with the missing home and end keys is essential to me. I which to see these in a future version of the keyboard.

I happen to have this keyboard. Its great, I work from home a lot so really good for myself. With the gaming side of things I just got myself a gaming keypad, that way I can get whatever keyboard I like and gaming will never be affected. There is a learning curb to go through for a few weeks, but its definitely worth it. I dont have any joint issues, but purchased as a preventative measure, and glad i did.

Never got the idea myself but seems quite nice.

By the way, for gamers there is recommendation for keys remap in game - let me quote the creator of X-Bows: "ESDF tends to work better than WASD on our layout. If you're a gamer who does really extended sessions - several hours at a time, then I would say that X-Bows could be a really good choice. "

For gaming, instead of wsad, try mapping things to edsf one column over where the keys for your 3 fingers are in line but for your pinky it is shifted down.
It will fell much more natural to game on.
Also, use pointer fingers for those two center buttons, backspace and enter.

I personally found it easier to use ESDF instead of WASD when playing games. Overall, I really like this keyboard for both typing and gaming. I also like the fact that I can play long gaming sessions and not have a strain on my wrists.

I thought that would've been the obvious choice, just by looking at the layout of the keys. Too bad it marred the review.

Once I learned how to use this keyboard it helped me use normal keyboards because it made me stop using bad habits like using the same finger for both the c and v keys which I didn't even know I was doing.

Just a shame they don't have a UK layout as yet. Unless you got one from the Kickstarter.

I like the idea of extra keys (shift, enter control), but not that crazy about the rest.
How the frak can you not have Home and End keys?
For me at least very used keys.

Same concern with me. I plan to remap Page Up/ Page Down keys as Home/End; plus it was recently announced there will be an option for custom keys (laser engraved) and I will simply order keys Home/End to that place.

I'm getting one from Amazon for $90, replacing a MS ergo.

For games it would be better if you used esdf instead of wasd, so your left ring finger is even with the others and your index finger is not reaching over. Then it's like you are using a razer orbweaver/tartarus.

The BackSpace is in the center!!!!, why do you insist in using the one to the right?

Better solution. Start deadlifting heavy. Stretches out the hands and puts "strain" into perspective.

Hey look everyone, this guy is too manly for RSI! 🙄 Get a clue dude.

@@Shorn_ In sense being "manly" is being able to discern the difference between causation and correlation: As treating symptoms instead of causes is animalistic base level of thought; higher level of thought is the main differences between people and other animals. If you spent time making your tendons healthy instead of finding ways to avoid discomfort, you wouldn't have these shitty and avoidable problems. 0% of the people I train have RSI issues, including "manly" people like my Facebook warrior 80yr old mom. You need to work out and eat right; not spend money on gimmicky keyboards.
