Man chose to monologue to 40k's very own Alexander Kerensky. You can talk all you want the response will be a simple "no" followed by your forces being demolished
Dorn is not one for mercy, but he does believe in accountability. He will think deeply on how you do things and why, then take a firm stance on how to go about it, balancing logic and principles. He will call you out when he sees you stepping off the road to your ideals, but ultimately the choice and consequences are yours.
Rogal Dorn and Perturabo really are 2 sides of the same coin, maybe if things played out differently they woukd have both been an unstoppable force together
Even Dorn’s insults are just facts. “9000 dead and counting… the spear tip is broken, you’re holding a gate for no one; your just an idiot standing on a wall.”
I really like the contrast between Fulgrim and Dorn. Fulgrim, in his pursuit of perfection, only sees flaws everywhere. To him, the Tower should be perfect and the Man in the Tower should be perfect. Dorn sees that everything has purpose. Everything has a means to an end. The Tower makes the Man stronger and the Man gives the Tower purpose. Even with one wall broken, the Tower might still have 3 strong, very useful walls. And if the Tower had never even existed at all? The Man would be weaker for it. To Fulgrim, if something is not perfect, it has no purpose. To Dorn, if it has purpose, it's already perfect. Dorn has nothing but contempt for Fulgrim, because in his eyes, Fulgrim has no purpose.
Some excellent wordsmithing, it really captures the spirits of the primarchs. this is fuxkin incredible, but if possible add a bit of "boom" to dorns voice if u know what i mean, he's usually described as having a commanding voice even when having simple conversations or talking normally. other than that this was incredible his calm, no nonsense demeanor and only says what is necessary was perfect, just if his voice had a touch more "presence" to it, it would have been an 11/10.
I do want to do a lot more excerpts with Dorn, as I am a rather large Dorn fan, so hopefully I shall get the chance to hone my voice for him a bit more! Thank you for the feedback and thank you for watching!
Man your fulgrim Is outrageously good! Best i've Heard, really. Regarding dorn, if you May, It's great, but his remarks don't feel like hammer blows, it's Just a collected guy talking, he's not STERN, still like It thou
Thank you very much! and, I did struggle a bit with the direction I wanted to go with Dorn. I tried to lean into the idea that, at least here, he wins because he just stays calm in the face of Fulgrim's rage, not rising to his provocation. I could certainly add a little extra force to his voice though. I'll see what I can do with the next excerpt I do with Dorn in it!
@@danielquintonvo thanks for the reply! Well you Dorn Is great honestly, what i really liked of this passage when i read It whole in a comment section was the contrast i percieved in fulgrim vs Dorn, where One keeps trying to talk, the other cuts short, with simple, granitic remarks, which made me envision his voice as cut and dry and heavy. While fulgrim i thought had a nice young, frivolous voice, which lends well to the slaneesh theme and the fact that his nice voice Is constantly snuffed by Dorn blows and remarks, like a boot stomping on a flower. Sadly every VA has fulgrim have this demonic, raspy voice, and you do as well, but you do a great job at not making him sound Just like a demon but as a person being corrupted, and your gasping greatly emphasises dorn's blows Still imo i think that fulgrim should have a beautiful and nice voice, especially in demon primarch form, After all a demon prince of slaneesh should have a voice capable of singing nice tunes
@@adrianthebard2296 I do want to attempt more Dorn (and Fulgrim) for the sake of trying to show a bit more of them. A little more force might be good too, there are a few Dorn excerpts that I may be able to do that with! (Kepp your eye out, hopefully I can get to recording them!) and indeed, I did want to show a certain level of Chaos corruption with Fulgrim, stepping up the effects after his transformation and such. If I did a pre-corruption Dorn I would likely just drop the effects entirely (Which, hopefully I can find an excerpt to do for that too) I am glad you mentioned the gasps too, I wasn't sure if I was overdoing it or making Fulgrim seem too weak (even though he is being soundly beaten). So I am glad that worked!
He is certainly not going all out here but to say Dorn can manage such a solid defence when he isn't often that rated as a fighter is impressive indeed! Thanks for watching!
I’m ngl, I know Fulgrim was more powerful than Dorn here, but if the two had dueled to the death, no demon form for Fulgrim, that dorn would absolutely body him. For the same reason he was beating him here. Fulgrims arrogance would cause him not to try, even though he’s likely the superior duelist of the 2. It’s the same reason why The Khan believes hed beat him. Everyone knows how Fulgrim fights, but Dorn is a stoic, and will absolutely just order his sons to shred him with bolt fire should the fight slip from his control. Great narration! I love your Fulgrim portrayal, really highlights his sneaky, conniving nature.
I tend to agree, the Demon form makes it a no brainer in favour of Fulgrim, and I think that is why he wasn't quite as into it but I do think Dorn still put up an incredible show here, and being able to quietly and calmly meet such an arrogant force in the fight helped him greatly! Thank you for watching!
Fulgrim believes himself to be perfect. I think he was hoping to watch Dorn beg him to ask for forgiveness and return to the Loyalist side, only to savor cutting down Dorn in human form. When Fulgrim didn't get that and his human form was actually bested by Dorn, he got pissed off and lost all interest. He didn't get the satisfaction, confirming his perfection that he wanted. He wanted to believe he was perfect, a better fighter and smarter than Dorn in just his human form. Being defeated by Dorn in his human form probably made him feel awful. Like he was reminded that he had to turn to Slaanesh and beg to become "perfect" rather than being born perfect. I'm just speculating though.
Theres something to be said about how clinical and mum dorn is in this fight, but i think there is a very important factor people forget; Dorn at this point has killed Alpharius(or Omegon or one pretending to be the other or maybe you're Alpharius or i am or not yadda yadda brain stroke) Point is. Dorne here, has already killed a brother. And so has fulgrim. And while fulgrim doesnt even mention that. Doesnt even hint at it. (To my tinfoil is something related to this not really being fulgrim) But Dorn. Hes already shut it off. Hes put up walls. There are no more brothers or history or words to be shared. To him, hes already killed kin. So whats one more body? He got a handful of moments with Vulkan and has spent months defending the palace. There is a sad and hopeful man buried under tons of rockcrete and adamantium and shattered hope and now this fop who was once his brother and is also no longer his brother is trying to bandy words? If he would ever have been known to express anger, this is where it is.
Very true! I do certainly agree! Part of the reason I love Dorn so much. He gets the characterisation of the cold stoic one so often but from what we see of his past and some of his interactions with his loyal brothers there is clearly a cheerier person in there who is just doing what he needs to do. He is probably one of the more accurate representations of humanity in the face of turmoil. Guilliman gets posited as the most human of the Primarchs (and, I tend to agree) but Dorn deserves a spot up there with him too just, in a far different manner. Thanks for watching!
Yeeeah, I don't hate Fulgrim in this chapter as some people do but I do think that line was a bit ridiculous. It did make me laugh though, so I guess there is that! Thank you for watching
@@DDespicable Maybe it is! haha, Fulgrim was certainly a lot friendlier before the chaos corruption. I would argue he was the Primarch who understood the Emperors vision the most. Which is I think what makes his fall so tragic!
Was he not always some kind of distraction, a peacock of a Primarch/Legion? Seems like that was what he was designed to be, to me. Also, they nerfed him here.
Arguably he was the opposite, initially, with his focus on absolute perfection! Though I think he did become more of just a peacock in a twist of cruel irony. Thank you for watching!
Dorn is the most dangerous bar none, he's not blinded by arrogance like the lion and leeman, nor rage like guilliman, or faith like lorgar. He has no weakness, robute is a weak duelist, the lion is blind and paranoid, leman is arrogant and hotheaded, angron and sanguinius are subpar generals, dorn is a master at everything, he won't flaunt his swordsmanship or argue morality, he won't make assumptions and throw his forces at the wall, he will demolish you with precise, unemotional, unbiased aggression, calculated with the sole intent to dispassionately remove a threat. No wonder perturabo was his only Match
he has one weakness. he is one bullheaded individual. see battle of the iron cage. if he has decided on a plan and a goal, then that is what he is going to do. there is little flexibility in his fighting. if his imperial fist wont crack open the enemy, then his only solution is to hit it with an even harder strike until either he or his target break. at no point does he consider whether or not the target is even worth breaking. he is also crap at communicating. had he asked for assistance at the iron cage, then maybe he wouldnt have suffered +80% casualties
@@philip8498 the cage was during dorn's period of feeling utter defeated and ashamed for failing to save either sanquin and the emperor. he attacked the cage knowing it was a total death trap, but attacked anyway cause he was ready to grind perty in to the dirty while dying doing it. girly man stepped in at his own choice to save dorn, not cause dorn needed or wanted it
@@philip8498that was a matter of the iron warriors being superior to the Imperial fists and at an advantage in their own domain, the primarchs weren't really relevant there, and besides the only legion that could've helped is the one that did, the ultramarines, anyone else would've just added to the loyalist death count. My tier list for primarchs is very different from my tier list for legions, Dorn is higher than his legion, perturabo is slightly lower than his, the only two that are exactly on par with their legions are guilliman and the lion.
I think you got the atmosphere right The voices are perfect and you put it all together so it is in perfect symbiosis. Great artist you are! That’s all your work and I love fulgrims demonic voice and picked the best parts for listening.
Bruh really had an anime moment then ran away… Fulgrim is pathetic and should have died there. How did Slaanesh even deign to make him a daemon there? At that moment, he was encorporating nothing his demonic patron valued…
I love how Rogal knows how many of fulgrims men died when fulgrim almost certainly doesn't 😂 Also imagining him saying "Noo...I am just going to kill you" in the emperor TTS voice is pricless
Maybe not cut to ribbons, I think Dorn could hold his own on defence for a while but Fulgrim being immortal does put a bit of a spanner in the works. I tend to think Dorn's victory here was more of a mental and strategic one than physical. He held Fulgrim off in melee, sure, but Fulgrim could have likely changed that whenever he wished, but, undermining the ruse then getting under his skin is the real win for Dorn. And, thank you for watching!

I love how you portray Rogal Dorne as more a construction Foreman more than a witty duelist. How he doesn't need quippy comebacks just cold hard facts.
Indeed, it wouldn't feel right to not voice in rather stoic and cold. Dorn really must just be to the point!
My thanks for watching!
this is fuxkin incredible, but if possible add a bit of "boom" to dorns voice if u know what i mean, he's usually described as having a commanding voice even when having simple conversations or talking normally. other than that this was incredible his calm, no nonsense demeanor and only says what is necessary was perfect, just if his voice had a touch more "presence" to it, it would have been an 11/10.
I do want to do a lot more excerpts with Dorn, as I am a rather large Dorn fan, so hopefully I shall get the chance to hone my voice for him a bit more!
Thank you for the feedback and thank you for watching!
@@danielquintonvo dorn and more of the lion. I just watched ur latest vid and it was sick as well.
Sadly every VA has fulgrim have this demonic, raspy voice, and you do as well, but you do a great job at not making him sound Just like a demon but as a person being corrupted, and your gasping greatly emphasises dorn's blows
Still imo i think that fulgrim should have a beautiful and nice voice, especially in demon primarch form, After all a demon prince of slaneesh should have a voice capable of singing nice tunes
@@adrianthebard2296 I do want to attempt more Dorn (and Fulgrim) for the sake of trying to show a bit more of them. A little more force might be good too, there are a few Dorn excerpts that I may be able to do that with! (Kepp your eye out, hopefully I can get to recording them!)
and indeed, I did want to show a certain level of Chaos corruption with Fulgrim, stepping up the effects after his transformation and such. If I did a pre-corruption Dorn I would likely just drop the effects entirely (Which, hopefully I can find an excerpt to do for that too)
I am glad you mentioned the gasps too, I wasn't sure if I was overdoing it or making Fulgrim seem too weak (even though he is being soundly beaten). So I am glad that worked!
I would love to see dorn vs perturabo. That would be a battle to behold.
It is on my list, indeed! Hopefully I can get around to recording it soon.
My thanks for watching!
Have to get that book ASAP. I never thought I'd see Fulgrim being beaten so badly as to actually die if it wasn't for his newfound demonic strength.
He is certainly not going all out here but to say Dorn can manage such a solid defence when he isn't often that rated as a fighter is impressive indeed!
Thanks for watching!
Awesome follow up!
Thank you very much!
“I’m not trapped here, I’m not under siege today. You are, and that’s why I’m going to kill you” goes so hard
I love how Dorn tell all his enemy they talk too much with his fist. 😆😆😆😆
@danielquintonvo Dope ✅ how you narrated this
My thanks!
Fulgrim sounds like Prime Starcream
"You're just a idiot on a wall" 😂😂😂
That made me laugh hard
Thanks for the vid mate very well read
Thank you very much! For watching and enjoying
same attitude of Sigismund vs Kharn, no time to talk.... impressive
Maybe I need to record that fight too actually if I can get a hold of it! I do like those sort of no-nonsense fights for sure.
Thanks for watching!
@@danielquintonvo Yes that would be great!! While you appreciate the silence of Dorn , the silence of Sigismund is too much, even for Kharn ahahah
Theres something to be said about how clinical and mum dorn is in this fight, but i think there is a very important factor people forget;
Dorn at this point has killed Alpharius(or Omegon or one pretending to be the other or maybe you're Alpharius or i am or not yadda yadda brain stroke)
Point is.
Dorne here, has already killed a brother. And so has fulgrim. And while fulgrim doesnt even mention that. Doesnt even hint at it. (To my tinfoil is something related to this not really being fulgrim)
But Dorn.
Man that boy dorn is a bad man
I would think fulgrim would have learned talking to dorn in a fight is a bad idea considering what happened to Alpharius
Now I see why they love Dorn😅
Did he srsly call him "rogal dolt"?
So are we supposed to take evil fulgrim serious at all?
Yeeeah, I don't hate Fulgrim in this chapter as some people do but I do think that line was a bit ridiculous.
It did make me laugh though, so I guess there is that!
Thank you for watching
@Daniel Quinton VO I hear b4 he fell he was pretty cool. Is that common for the traitor primarchs? Is cool the price chaos demands for power?
@@DDespicable Maybe it is! haha, Fulgrim was certainly a lot friendlier before the chaos corruption. I would argue he was the Primarch who understood the Emperors vision the most.
Which is I think what makes his fall so tragic!
Awesome
My thanks!
Correct me but is Fulgrim at this point a demon masquerading as the Phoenician or was it the real Fulgrim?
It has been a while since I read it in full but as far as I remember this is the real Fulgrim here.
Someone please correct me if I'm wrong!
He was using his primarch form for some reason
@@seshade the reason was because the emperors psychic shield was too strong for him to
maintain his demon form for very long
Fulgrim ascended to demonhood several books ago. So more or less yes. Fulgrim is using his humanoid form but still is a demon prince.
@@danielquintonvo nope thats the demon! Poor bastards is stuck in the painting at this point
I think you got the atmosphere right
The voices are perfect and you put it all together so it is in perfect symbiosis. Great artist you are!
That’s all your work and I love fulgrims demonic voice and picked the best parts for listening.
Thank for very much! That does mean a lot to me, I like to put my effort into bringing those elements together.

Two of my least favourites. But you sir are world class ! GW and BL need to pay the man ❤
Bruh really had an anime moment then ran away… Fulgrim is pathetic and should have died there. How did Slaanesh even deign to make him a daemon there? At that moment, he was encorporating nothing his demonic patron valued…
Thot slayer Dorn
I love how Rogal knows how many of fulgrims men died when fulgrim almost certainly doesn't 😂

Let's be fair, if Fulgrim had actually applied himself here, everyone's favorite Bob the Builder of the Dark Future would have been cut to ribbons.
@dan vojnovič Yes.
Dorn made Fulgrim bored of the siege and withdrew.
Why?
@@fridriechrussofobber3500 All of the Primarchs had specialties and Fulgrim was said to be one of the best swordsmen among them. Dorn had his own strengths but CQC wasn't one of them (like getting KO'd by Curze).

I feel like fulgrim fought damn near most of his brothers lol.
