Lamai was the very first place in Thailand I visited many years ago, but I´ve never been back. It wasn´t the busiest place back then but I saw from youtube that it was devastated by the pandemic, with so many businesses shut down, has it picked up again?
Yes it's picking up again but still a slower pace of life

Yes I recommend Lamai it tends to be more peaceful and quiet then other areas

Both are excellent options. I recommend staying in Lamai. More quiet and peaceful with a beautiful beach.

Koh Fit and Lamai Fitness Center.. there's also a little gym right near the entrance of Lamai Beach for 20 Baht per day. Hope this helps!

Becareful, samui police is rude to tourist, they took u to police station with your family for traffic voilation. It happens to me on 16 sept 2023
Thanks for the heads up but it's generally nothing much to worry about.
Now you have to imagine that when I was there for the first time in 1986 there were no bars on the beach, no chairs or tables and rarely people. I still saw the real Thailand and the original Koh Samui. not this “hello how are you” or “massage, massage” BS
