Hey Jengar are you aware that FWs for a new flight model? From what I've read in the notes they have better maneuverability (less stiff elevator I imagine) and buffed vertical stall speed. In exchange for worse overheating and limited WEP. I could be wrong about some of these. Have your tried out any 190s yet?

Yep, welcome to allied experience. By personal experiece I can say that staying high is your best option, even if you're not invincible because of it. For a german below you to be able to get to your alt they'll have to work as a team, one will bait, never getting too far from you so that you stay interested, but never letting you get too close so that you have dive to try and get to him; the other planes will have to extend away and climb. Fighting agaist more than 1 enemy with alt advantage is a game of patience, time and accuracy. You have to kill your enemies quickly, but you can't dive and give away your only advantage, so you have to be very efficient with your shots, you can't afford to miss and go for a second engagement. Headons can be your only way to win as well if everything else failed, in a 1vsMany situation headons are acceptable. That being said you have to get gud tho, full commit headons are never acceptable, and you will need discipline AND good aim to be able to carry an allied team. Oh, and you will need luck, a lot of luck.

I'm a F4U 1c and Spitfire ix main mostly, i kinda try to stay on brit cos i got too many US plane fully researched but never got the lion cos dumb team. Idk maybe its my playstyle or my 300m aim but i never manage to solo carry like adam enginerd
@@Errorcutive solo carry in a spitfire is a urban legend tbh. Shit high alt performance + shit guns means you'll always die if you're alone. Unless you're a demigod like adam. The only spitfires I enjoy are the ones with 4x hispanos, you can snipe 109s with them when they're zooming away from you, but you're still fked if you're alone. Don't take my word for it tho, maybe i'm just bad at flying spits.
Jengar Well if it struggled it would need it. Personally I don’t care for it to have one since corsairs and other thunderbolts with meh climbs don’t get one... Even tho Ta 152s H/C and 190s get air spawns still (even though they don’t need it much either considering their performance and guns). It’s weird. I’d give the thunderbolt a 500m-1000m airspawn above the airfield. If you get to around 270mph and zoom climb at 15 deg, and then start climbing at optimal climb speed you’ll be climbing well.

Abraham Louw I’ve played the P 47M at critical altitude, against a FW 190 D 12, and Ta 152 H and honestly I held my own. However I just feel it’s too easy for them. I had to pull skill, and out luck to the max. Doesn’t help that a lot of times in top down shots 50 cals don’t do enough. If I hit the pilot and engine that should atleast hamper performance some. But yeah the M is a monster, the D 28 is well a monster too but not the same (it just has decent climb). But if you give it to the D22-25 they’d be upwards of 7km with 109s dominating, but it’s up to the 109s to bait them to 5-6km and play their horsepower at those alts.
@@21kjavierrr Full radiator slows you down a lot and is entirely unnecessary. If you want max prop pitch you can do it with like 40% radiators or less, depending on the map.
@@MarvinT0606 P-40N, B-26, F4U-5, F8F-2, rework the F6F and give the -3 and -5 variants, FM2 Wildcat, XP47J Superbolt as possible premium or event vehicle, and that's just for the US....the possibilities are endless!
The truth of your words make me feel guilty. My premium P47n sits in my hanger fully loaded with bombs and rockets. Despite being a bomber pilot by nature I promise, in future, to clear high first before chasing tickets in the weeds. In a clean P47 of course. Thanks Jengar for setting my pilot's mess straight. 👍
I'm fine when the 109s climb rlly high, but what I hate most is when the zeros climb just as high, they can out climb and outturn you, so basically you're screwed
How most allied teams go: If you sideclimb:your whole team dies due to the lack of alt,enemy promptly deletes them,and theres also the chance that you might encounter that random guy in a 109 or 190 sideclimbing in the same area like you,killing you while youre slow or being swarmed after diving to low alt If you climb directly at the enemy:You either get dived on or are able to kill some enemies that are about the same alt,then we pushed to low alt and dived on And the rare matches when you sideclimb but your team somehow manages to still kill most if not all enemy fighters without sideclimbing Tbh allied teams are bad not only due to groundpounding but also due to the unforgiving nature of the planes.After all my matches in these planes im still pretty meh but even that can be completely negated by coordonation(Ps4 here btw)
I have not followed your videos for a couple of years now, since I switched to SB and left RB completely. However, I saw your Razorback video and had to check it out.
I had a series of games where me (P51c-10) a p51d5 and a p47d22 and we won every game we played. Many p51c10s are now upgraded and are starting to dominate. Boom and zoom the 109f4 and g2/trop, turn fight the 109g6
The P 51 C actually climbs really well (atleast with MEC) and if you side climb you have all your performance. In the Thunderbolt even if I’m below max performance alt (7.5-9.5km high) I can do well against the 109s due to pilot skill.
sure, but if you meet a 109 with a half decent pilot, you wont beat him in a dogfight with this plane. But in general i agree, pilot skill is everything!
Jengar Honestly I’ve beat half decent jugs, 109s, fw190s in dogfights with the p 47 D. Maybe it’s skill and my MEC but I do pretty well with the flaps. However depending on energy state the dogfight might be a lost cause. Energy is everything. If you have the correct momentum, flap control, throttle control, and MEC not much can beat you ESPECIALLY at 8km high. 8km+ you have to screw up badly to lose. I’ve fought a good G2 pilot in a p 51C he couldn’t ever kill me but because the guns are trash I couldn’t kill him (got nothing but hits). In situations like that I’d rather have the thunderbolt because at that altitude I’d have nearly the same performance but would have the guns to match. All and all I don’t think this plane is all too bad but maybe it’s me and my preference.

In the other lost game, completely my fault, I’d become frustrated so went after a bomber and got jumped by the inevitable heavy German fighter from above me. Mea culpa. I should say, I do quite well in the other Thunderbolts. I really enjoy playing them and do pretty well, with a k/d of about 2:1 (good for me, anyway). But the razorback? I know seven games aren’t enough to make a judgement, but half the times I died, I burst into flame after a hit or two. It felt more like a zero in its solidity. Maybe it’s the British teams? I do best in the Hitlerbolt and Stalinbolt - German and Russian teams tend to be better than American ones, but I do ok in the American Thunderbolts as well. I was really looking forward to this premium Brit as I do much better as BnZ and the poms don’t have many planes good for that. But so far, I’ve been disappointed.
True, the damage model is horrendous compared to other P-47s. But the most annoying - engine sniping, ie. the entire plane is ok but the engine is insta-dead.
I really love the new planes and can't wait to use them once the hype is over. But my favourite addition of this patch is propably the new broken feature for the german bombers. Now the 288 is even more toxic :,D
@@jengar6258 Looks like it, abuse it as it is still possible. For some Reason from 4.7 to 6.0 it takes only 11 50kg (272kg of tnt to be precise) to take out a weak base (25 for a strong) so on most maps you can take out all 3 bases with an 288 (or 177 even 4) and still have some left. Af damage is also hyperinflated, about 100 50s to take it out. So 4 288s or 3 177s could end the match in one run. I tried to set up a squad to do so since I found out yesterday, but wasn't able to since :/ The only difficulty is to get 11 bombs on one base, I try to either stall infront of it or dive with the breaks, but managed to get all 3 with some luck. Reward stays the same, even though you only bomb 272 kg tnt instead if 1000 per base. But you are not the only one, only met 1 pilot so far who also found out.
Glass engine (insta-dead kind), more fragile than other 47s, and that glorious tail blowing off WT mechanic. Who tested this plane before release? How hard was it to copy a D-25 and just use the visuals of the Razorback? Gaijobles quality control ...
@@jengar6258 If the engine is hit it dies very fast, unlike other Radials. It's like the RNG of every shot goes to the least probably crankshaft hitbox, instead of the many cylinders (18). Others claim very good marksmanship but let's be real: .50 calls don't saw off wings (wing struts), consistently, having a high rate of fire, while 1 single 20mm nose mounted cannon, cannot hit the same spot in a deflection shot either (rate of fire).
p47 was only used for ground pounding after most of the luftwaffen was defeated and air superiority was pretty much in allied hands. remember the only thing realistic in warthunder are the vehicle models.
And yet the Thunderbolt still racked up almost 4000 air to air kills. It was designed as a fighter, it just so happened to be able to carry a lot air to ground ordnance.
P47M is an animal at 5.7. I’ve had a few k4 players spitting feathers, the whole line is brilliant just bit of a hard stock grind compared to some aircraft
@Dilet take em both into air assault (co op). Its a good place to compare since you can spawn as many times as you can afford it. Use the N first for a few waves, then try the D model. Did it just yesterday and there was a noticeable difference. Both are fully upgraded. The N model has a bigger wing from what read about it. It was on Wikipedia though so make of that what you will. 2088HP vs real 2100HP is fair :D compressor, engine and injectors are illegal because they bring the plane over max power (still WEP is unreal with 30min of max use) ....anti G suit by dunlop.....still fair even if it wasnt for p47.....but for FAA (english) ... in short a little unfair this plane but i know i know X,,,D USA kiddos will cry if they play realistic and fair without "crossout" mods
@@jengar6258 is above his performance a lot, 3 mods, anti G suit. for OP planes there is a buff in the ranking system,for me. i repeat, USA player base, most are crybabies that dont want realistic MM. this is the reason behind his low tier, because between monsters where it belong, noone could play it :)))
ewwww gross it's cocpit is so ugly compared to the clean bubble canopy and this what so called razorback is full of bars and i hate these cocpit designs even the 50 cals of this plane is just so weak so it could take 1/4 of your ammo unlike the modified 50 cals for the D versions
The R A E TEST FLEW THE P 47 and FOUND It had a very disappointing mach no. In the dive mach 0.71 . Very poor . One of the test pilots was Eric wincle Brown

Teams are extra weak atm due to all the stock planes, it'll stabalize over the next week.

MEC tip for all P47´s: 85% prop pitch, 85% mixture, all radiators closed and wep all day long.
This P47 is quite similar to D25 but looks better.

and still, many ppl dont have the patience to stay high for long. So sideclimbing is still very effective.
I love the razorback variant, and I'm glad the RAF are getting one as that is my main tech tree.

i noticced it as well, the teams are all in the stock new american planes for allied teams. It should pass.

In the real aircraft the Razorback had better lateral stability than the later variants until they added a fillet to the tail seen in the P-47N

Also, I found a forum page from 2015, where it seems Gaijin did the same thing to the engine DM of an F4F-3.

The pilots flying the earlier models complained about limited view, so the "bubble" was the solution to that issue

p47 was only used for ground pounding after most of the luftwaffen was defeated and air superiority was pretty much in allied hands. remember the only thing realistic in warthunder are the vehicle models.
And yet the Thunderbolt still racked up almost 4000 air to air kills. It was designed as a fighter, it just so happened to be able to carry a lot air to ground ordnance.

Ill take a 47 over a 51 any day of the week. Even the more clunky N model.
P47M is an animal at 5.7. I’ve had a few k4 players spitting feathers, the whole line is brilliant just bit of a hard stock grind compared to some aircraft
yeah stock their difficult, and they'll always need sideclimbing.
@Dilet take em both into air assault (co op). Its a good place to compare since you can spawn as many times as you can afford it. Use the N first for a few waves, then try the D model. Did it just yesterday and there was a noticeable difference. Both are fully upgraded. The N model has a bigger wing from what read about it. It was on Wikipedia though so make of that what you will.

I think Gaijin was a little too hard on this plane with its battle rating... 3.7 or 4.0 would have been much better since it is worse than the D25...
IMO this plane needs airspawn. The climb rate is just terrible, even when spaded.

compressor, engine and injectors are illegal because they bring the plane over max power
(still WEP is unreal with 30min of max use)

this plane isnt 5.3, never. It's quite a bit slower then the D-28, and thats not 5.3. The performance of the razorback doesnt warrent it.
@@jengar6258 is above his performance a lot, 3 mods, anti G suit. for OP planes there is a buff in the ranking system,for me.
i repeat, USA player base, most are crybabies that dont want realistic MM. this is the reason behind his low tier, because between monsters where it belong, noone could play it :)))

it's cocpit is so ugly compared to the clean bubble canopy
and this what so called razorback is full of bars and i hate these cocpit designs
even the 50 cals of this plane is just so weak so it could take 1/4 of your ammo
unlike the modified 50 cals for the D versions
taste differs, and that is good ;)
I wouldnt say that theyre nerfed after the 50. cal ap buff;)

The R A E TEST FLEW THE P 47 and FOUND It had a very disappointing mach no. In the dive mach 0.71 . Very poor .
