Today we take a look at the P-47D-22, and we'll try to find out wether this plane is worth your money. We'll fly it out and see if it can perform in RB, and after that i'll give you my opinion on the American Razorback.

Generally speaking the p47 wasn't used in ground attack role until after the allies had gained control of the sky over Europe. It was designed as a high altitude fighter with the ground attack role as a secondary thought, as most American fighters. I have always loved the jug! Beast of a plane! Awesome video, looking forward to the next one!

hmm, i've never had that issue, sounds like a bug.

I like this plane because it’s a P-47D-25 but 0.3 lower. The climb rate is absolutely abysmal unless you use MEC to set the propeller pitch to 85% (keeping mixture at 100%), then it becomes acceptable. It also allows you to WEP until you run out of water after about ten minutes. When I quit War Thunder last time this plane didn’t even exist. Now it ehh… there’s a lot wrong with this plane’s armor scheme, I’ll explain in a follow-up comment.
There is an entire armor plate in front of the pilot that fills up the entire fuselage’s cross section. This is impossible because the turbocharger ducting is in the way. Also, the actual P-47 razorback has armor behind the pilot, but this thing doesn’t.
At 85% prop pitch and 100% mixture you can WEP climb at 300km/h IAS indefinitely with both radiator and oil at 50%. Closing both radiators, you can WEP for quite a while, or you can set mixture to 90% and WEP indefinitely.
(“Indefinitely” just means you can keep doing it until water runs out, and you won’t overheat)
yeah, cheers, and good to know on this plane gaijin made some mishaps as well.

I was playing whit my P-51C in a pacific map every time that i was chasing a zero a P-47 razorback would snatch those poor A6M, Some how got a kill.
At least we won 😀

There are a couple of p-47s in the Chinese tech tree as well. I'm looking forward to your review of the Chinese tech tree planes, rank 2 in particular.

@@jengar6258 I did. You have CW-21 in rank 2. I suppose CW-21 is so good it deserves to be rank 2. Also P40 is in there twice. The P66 is also in there but that's about it.
I would recommend the ki44
@@dangerzone8408 the p-47's are in rank III i believe.
@@synblades598 yes the Ki 44 is very good. The Ki 61 is slightly better. The P40 has 50% better firepower and is pretty tough. Also the A29 has gunners. I'm having a lot of fun in AB 2.3 at the moment.

Hey Jengar, would you consider doing a review on the F8U-2? Having played it I think people have given it an unfair reputation, once you get past the wing ripping its a pretty good plane.

you've seen the footage, but in review form, with different commentary. In my combat reports i use footage of older reviews to talk you trough my actions and thought processes. I've been doing that for 15 episodes already, i thought thios was known ;)

Jengar idk if this is a good strategy but what I do is dive and when I’m 2 km away from the enemy turn of my engine so they don’t hear me and then i shoot at them. Maybe you could try it
