Awesome vid Jengar! I have a question about free look and camera control. While I'm in free look and watching my opponent behind me occasionally my camera will get stuck at a weird angle. I can't look around but my mouse can't control my plane either. I have to leave free look the go back to it. Has this happened to you and if so how did you fix it? Thanks in advance.
Cheers westerly, i've not had that in a lont time, maybe its because you keep the c key pressed to long, once you fly with the keyboard the c key is not needed, the mouse is free to control the camera with.
when sideclimbing this thing, often the match is won, before you get a kill, or even worse, you met a pair of p51 and p47 sideclimbing, or the battle of the middle is lost, and you cant make a difference anymore because of lackluster performance. what i figured out for myself in this plane as the tactic i go for, is to steep climb behind my team, so i am a bit behind them and below them, when fight in middle starts, i can keep climbing a bit, then level out to get to speed, and when they are starting to dogfight i am in a position to then intervene in this dogfights, as they come lower, and help out our bf109s. With this method there are no surprises above you, cause the bf109 are in front and above you, while enemy sees you only as secondary target, until you double team em

My most played plane right here and I absolutely love it I don’t use gun pods on it and it is a beast. It can win most fights if played correctly and surprisingly it can outturn a lot of planes with a little bit of speed and flap control.

I used to try and fly this thing in AB where it is BR 6.0...Totally blown rating, you can fly the A4 at BR 4.3 with 4 x 151's and have much more fun...I haven't flown RB for a while so I don't really know whether it is worth it at BR 4.7...For me, maneuver is far more important than 4 more guns that weigh an extra 2500 kg...It is interesting that when the Re.2005 serie 0 came out it started at 4.7 in AB and then gaijin in a series of raises moved it up to 6.0, they have now dropped it back to BR 5.3 and it is a far superior plane to the 190 A-5/U12 which will eventually die at BR 6.0...
I seem to struggle in slow planes. Playing the Italians for example 2.0 to 3.3 I can't move fast enough to catch the P-40s and F4Us I end up facing and I get shredded. But playing the US tree I feel like I always have enough speed to extend away from a ambush and I still have good enough roll rate to evade. Though I am not the best pilot by a long shot.
@@jengar6258 That is the sense I get yeah. The only upside is the 20mms. I lack the skill set to make proper use of that tech tree though. Nothing against the planes, I'm just bad at them. XD
Ahhh i love this fw190 i always flew it with the gunpods,the performance with them attached is manageable for a good pilot of course,the gunpods are Brutal,you can compare this thing with the ta 152c3 almost in terms of firepower, awesome video as always ;)
It's understandable that you prefer flying without the gun pods, your skill level doesn't need them, so why not take the performance advantage of leaving them behind? Not being as skilled (yet) I find the pods helpful getting that kill asap which allows me to return my attention to impending threats sooner. I especially find this true with the 109's. Still, I look forward to the day when don't need them. Great video, as always.
the gun pods in the FW190 SIGNIFICANTLY reduces your performance, it's incredibly big, and two MG151/20 can shoot down many enemy planes with 500 rounds of ammo.
Yeah when I started I always used gun pods since I would at best get only one pass before an enemy gets behind me so I wanted them dead asap. Now I am the one without gunpods to get on people's 6's :)
Equipping gunpods is one of the worst things you can do. (picking anyhting other than stealth is a bad idea too) You're turning a great and nicely maneuverable fighter into a havey fighter. Two Mg 151/20s are way more than enough to delete any prop plane and you don't butcher your maneuverability. How do I know that? It's literally my most played vehicle in the game.
I prefer stealth for several reasons. It's amazing in head ons; enemy doesn't see when you start shooting, and even when they do, they can't see the bullets so they probably wont be able to dodge them. Attacking from other directions also benefits from element of surprise, enemy wont react unless they get hit, and when they get hit, it's too late. Also it has APHE to deal with SPAAs in tank RB.
IMO the Fw190 antons are way better than the Doras simply because of the MM and plane performance. The >5.0 mm for Germany as of right now is just torture. You either roflstomp or get roflstomped or in the “rare” occasion that you get uptiered, which happens 40% of the time, you can kiss your ass goodbye. The fact is the Antons are not forced to climb and compete in energy like the higher tier Doras which will get screwed because F4u4b cancer. Because of that you can use the fw190 is a more fun way I.e. going straight in. You’ll be fine as long as you stay at 2000-3500m. Reversals are a piece of cake because any diving planes on you will be going at the speed of light AND corsairs are really rare.
Nope. None needed. I'll qualify that and say that the penalties for carrying them make pods not worth having. 2 cannon is enough for almost anything and doesn't weaken you against fighters. I should say I'm killing around 4:1 with Antons but that's probably a reflection of allied teams more than any particular talent on my part.
@@maggi98mw I find I get beaten to the bombers by Do335s and TA's, so I set up for hitting fighters. 2 cannon is enough for most bombers if you are happen to pass near by one.
How is this fighter only BR4.7?? It is BR6 in AB. Those speed readings don't mean jack. They can still close distance on much faster vehicles with ease. Why have Gaiijin shown so much bias to axis planes?
They can still close distance on much faster vehicles with ease....... I would say no to that. The 190's are good in a dive. And you need to judge the situations clearly, and identify why they were able to close a distance. There is no bias for german planes.
The fw is good, but in my game the fastest the plane goes is 430 and it fucken sucks. I’m slow and the extra guns are just dumb. Because you loose way to much move power.
After u dodge p47 u dont follow him make just climb at 15 degrees make him turn 180 degrees for his next pass or climb back up at 15 degrees and turn at low speed if the situation allows and force a headon by diving and pitching up when he comes i zome boomers abondon this pass and this way u got enough speed to surprise him of force a headon. He will not get the energy advantage back so quickly this way and after dodging 2 times u have more time to shoot him in the reverse

Slow, poor climb and poor turn. I really need to know how Gaijin thinks. A super light and maneuverable plane in real life but in War Thunder is almost so slugsh as a B25.
@@jengar6258 I saw some interviews with 190´s pilots (like Günther Rall) and they said that 190´s overall maneuverability was better than 109´s and they could follow Spitfires in a turn.

Personally, I don't use the gunpods as I never need them, the 2 MG 151's are enough for me. Only rarely will I actually use them extensively.

I never use gunpods in the BF 109s but I do with this Fw 190. It's one of my best planes with 200 kills in RB, a beast :D

it puts more importance on your positioning and decisionmaking when you fly a slow plane. Because it will be less forgiving when you make mistakes.

I love this plane, mostly because the thought of the gunpods scares my friends. They make it quite sluggish though. Once again, a nice video.

Before i really went after him i was checking if the fire went off. When it dit, and he was pulling out of his dive, he was a free target again.

Then you're one of the experts i talked about ;) I like my air targets just as much as my stealth tbh. Both work very well!

i had good results in the D-9 as well, but i agree, i do prefer the antons.

Set the convergence to 50 meters and you have a 20mm shotgun

thats right, but it can fly defensively with the rollrate and cause overshoots. At which point you can reverse the fight.

Only fw190 I can't stand to play is the one with only 2 cannons, it just feels so wierd
With gunpods is weird and performs badly, just load stealth as always and your two cannons will work great, way better than gunpods.
The Fw 190 A-5/U2, is fantastic in my eyes, its the most maneuverable anton ingame, and it can manage without the machine guns!
U2 is my favourite one. Basicly lighter U12 with cool crests on the sides. Only con is that it has no unlockable camos.
