If anyone thinks Lebron is better then MJ then it's cause of one of these reasons.... 1) they were born in the 90s and never seen MJ play 2) just a hater 3) just flat out do know basketball. MJ is the best player ever. Period,
Therealking Jaymes That’s kind of what JR Rider said. When he sees the bulls on schedule, he eats better, goes to bed early, extra serious in practice, etc.
I just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate you uploading these! I love MJ, and all the 90's bulls teams, and these videos are truly amazing. thanks so much, I'm much obliged.
His ability to fake then move fluidly into a space and be ready to shoot in less time than the space of a heartbeat is unsurpassed. It's a privilege to have lived in the time of Michael Jordan.
I’m proud of both of them Michael & Lebron. It’s not about who better they both are blessed & gifted with their skills of the game of basketball. Black brother’s this black sister proud of you both❤️❤️👏🏾👏🏾💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾
Jordan found the zone in the fourth quarter🤔🤔 He was so smoooth that he was floating out there. He was like a lubed up robot who just made peace with the universe😑😑
It's amazing how he started to enjoy the game in the last minutes and keep smiling after every shot. So calm and can keep his cool and it's obvious to see he was feeling it.
larry bird said during the 1998 playoffs what is like hard and extra ordinary to some is a routine for mj!!♥ he makes it look simple and yet at that time and even now, especially now..it will remain always and forever special & extra ordinary!♥ that is why new york will always be special to mj and so as new york adores mj!!♥
This is the famous "big brother, little brother" game where Pippen went off for the first half/3 quarters on Larry Johnson after LJ had made some disparaging remarks about him in the NY papers. Then MJ (big brother) took over down the stretch to pull the game out. I remember being amazed when I first saw this game on TV when it happened. Took a long time to make its way to youtube. Thanks Hoops!
It's a shame that NY blew their series against Miami, because they would have had a helluva series against Chicago. Chicago would have won of course, but the series would've been better than that Miami series was. All four regular season games were exciting and went down to the wire. The only one I haven't seen on youtube was their last matchup, which was the last game of the season, where the Knicks beat the Bulls at the end in Chicago.
Yeah they stopped them from winning 70. Knicks had a fighter's chance in that series, but they effed up against the Heat by not maintaining their discipline. Jordan made sure his guys didn't beat themselves. The Knicks would beat themselves by not hitting free throws (e.g., Game 5 of the '93 ECF, a.k.a. The Charles Smith game). Jordan terrified his own teammates, which worked well. Credit to him.
Those who compare Lebron with Jordan are idiots and I say this with all due respect. It doesn`t matter how big and athletic Lebron is, Jordan was faster, graceful and a more well rounded player. Lebron is just a machine, not grace at all.
I agree with you Hernando! There are only few things I don't understand: why when I say the same words people just knock me down with arguments like "MJ was able to win only after Magic and Bird left!" or "MJ was able to win only 'cause NBA changed the rules against Pistons' defense!" or "80s and 90s defenses were less strong than today's, that's why MJ has better stats!", etc? And why when I say that LeBron wasn't able to win with the Cavs (true!) but only when he started to play with the Heat of Wade, people start telling other stuff to make appear LeBron better than MJ anyway? And why when I say that MJ on the playoffs was a complete monster and LeBron (or any other today's players for what that matters!) is not even close, people start to argue again? I mean I'm maybe an "old guy" and I just like to reminisce like grandpas, but as you said, all stats and records aside, MJ was like a gracefull dancer and lovely to watch, LeBron is like a monster truck, nothing lovely about him, he is a good player but I prefer grace over power. Anyway even if LeBron is a tornado, his "unstoppable factor" doesn't only depend on his athleticism, but also 'cause today's rules are so restrictive and all contacts are so limited that of course a 6 ft 8 in by 250 lb seems like a train, but back when contacts were alloud I really believe that this "force of nature" would have been tamed. Personal thought on this game: with today's rules = 50 points game for Michael.
shaqpopcorn34 I think you mean geniuses first off and secondly since you aren't one leave the discussion to people who actually know the game and we know that while Leflop is a great player, MJ is BY FAR the greatest player of all time.
shaqpopcorn34 I love 15 year olds who think they know basketball. Again, let me know when Kobe shoots 50% just ONCE for a season. Shaq?? LOL. You lost right there. Hakeem, Wilt AND Jabbar would go before that brick layer. Bird, Dr. J & Nique were all better than Leflop AND I haven't heard anyone say they would take Kobe as their 1st choice at the 2 guard over MJ. You need to go watch games when basketball was being played and not this entertainmentball crap they play nowadays.
The Knicks probably had more lane violations than any team in the 90's. Larry Johnson, Patrick Ewing, Anthony Mason...I could fix dinner, come back into the living room and they'd STILL be at the free throw line!
Ugh this video gave me a sick feeling. The 33 in my handle is from Patrick Ewing so it still hurts to watch them lose one of these to MJ's Bulls. I didn't remember the show Jordan put on in the 4th, probably because I simply expected it by that point and hoping we could still escape it with a win. All I remember from this game was that play at 6:42 with Pippen calling timeout while saving the loose ball from going out of bounds and complaining through the game's final seconds how unfair that was and being so frustrated that that was the reason we lost the game. Interestingly the next season they added a rule saying you could not call timeout while falling out of bounds. I felt vindicated somehow.
with his work ethic? Yup. Especially since he was so great at shooting midrange. It's not like he's starting from nothing. He wouldn't be curry but he wouldn't need to be
How dare they even compare his airness to LeBron. Absolutely absurd. The game was played at a very physical level during Jordan's years and yet he was able to sustain all of the punishments. MJ played with style and grace. And this was a better way to prove that he carried this bulls team on his back because they always say he had better teammates than LeBron. True but Michael Jordan was unique. MJ is simply the G.O.A.T
It is unbelievable that inside the MSG people were actually cheering for each MJ basket... notice how when other bull players score the crowd is quiet...but when MJ scores they cheer... INSIDE MSG..!! The level of awesomeness MJ had is really unreachable... no wonder he was given standing ovations in almost every venue he played for the last time... the guy is certainly as close to God as it is humanly possible...
Oakley tried as hard as he could to give Jordan a flagrant, is that Michael was so strong 💪, he takes the contact, still make the shot and go to the free throw line insane
Wins were suddenly hard to come by for the Bulls in April of 97. Fatigue was definitely a factor. Thankfully MJ was able to dig down deep with some much needed 4th quarter heroics!
one word.. two actually, Van Gundy!! hahahaha!! this guy made mj play like a beast each and everytime! the smiling assassin!! the best ever!! miss mj... off from work, im tired but mj just makes my day fine!!
The most insane thing about Michael Jordan was that as he got older he got BETTER... When he was younger he would rely on athleticism but as time went on he thought the game out more using deception and basic fundementals so he saved energy with age so he did more with less...
One of the reasons MJ is the GOAT is his will to win. Didn't matter if it was playoffs, regular season, pre-season, or practice. He played hard no matter what the game -- how many others can you say that about?
as a Knicks fan, for years all I remembered about this game was Pippen's dive into the stands to save that ball with seconds left and calling timeout in midair. That was the game right there. I never minded the rule that said you could call timeout in midair to save a ball from going out of bounds (in fact I thought it was kinda neat) until that game. Then I thought it was unfair as hell and wanted it changed. Shortly thereafter, it WAS changed. Funny how that works.
as much as i love kobe, you cant compare. mj was the most popular athlete of the 90's. he was a cultural phenomenon, had all the big endorsements, made movies with looney tunes, clips with michael jackson. he also stayed out of trouble with the law. some of michael's most famous moments actually have names: the shot 1 and 2, the shrug, etc. not to mention the quality of opponents, 90's were so star-studded. magic, larry, reggie, ewing, hakeem, robinson, mullin, wilkins, barkley, drexler, etc.
I remember this game well. There was bad blood between Pippen & Larry Johnson because Larry Johnson said that Pippen was overrated & that he hung on MJ's coat tails. Pippen gave him about 26 points in the first half lol. Then they put Johnson on Michael in the 4th quarter &Michael gave him 20 in the quarter. The funny thing was that during that era with the Knicks, Johnson was viewed as a defensive stopper lol. That's why Michael gave him that look at 5:09 after he hit the jumper in his face.
Man, as a Bulls fan I would love to see the Knicks in the Conference Finals in 1997. This is would have been an epic classic. Thanks a lot Miami for messing up that scenario from that ugly brawl in GM 5. Because I knew we can easily destroy Miami without breaking a sweat because they had no one else other than Mourning and Hardaway while the Knicks were solid and beat the Bulls on the Final game of the season to prevent back to back 70 win seasons.
It would've been a great series. I think the Bulls would've gotten it in 6 but Dennis was playing terribly that entire playoff so it might have gone the full 7 games. When they played each other no team won a game by more than 4 points during that season.
+Jamal Abdelbaset Patrick Ewing, Allan Houston, John Starks, and Larry Johnson were ALL suspended for Game 6 of that series, a game I believe they would have clinched had it not been for the suspensions.
NBA in the 90's was THE GREATEST ERA! i'm so happy I got to witness it and lived through it. Nba era now is GOOD, but NTHING compared to the 90's. Classic Jordan here ( GREATEST EVER )and I used to enjoy the Bulls vs Knicks games more then any. Fucked up thing was I am still to this day a bulls fan, but I also Was a bulls fan because of MJ. I rooted for the wizards when he played for them. I was also a knicks fan bak then too. I would root for the bulls when they played eachother obviously, but I rooted for the knicks any other time. I had to pick 1 so I chose the Bulls for various reasons. I loved Patrick Ewing, who is one of the GREATEST centers to ever play. He had an all around game. A 7 ft Center, and he had NOT 1 weakness. you see You barely see 7 ft centers anymore, most are 6'10 6'11 and for example Dwight howard. GREAT on defense and rebounding, but a pussy on offense.CANT shoot foul shots, NO true Jump Shot, basically a down low guy who struggels these days. When Dwight was in Orlando and Patrick Ewing was his mentor/coach Dwight was better then EVER. Ewing Had Dwight Dominant. Shaq was great on defesne, decent ball handling, great passer, could run the floor if need be, could block shots, Rebound, AND SCORE. AFTER ALL he did have 28,000 + career points. Shaq was a career 50% FT but MADE ALL OF THEM when it counted and in CLUTCH situations. Shaq didn't have a jump shot like Ewing But Had Dominant consistantr Jump hook and Hook shot. Difference with Shaq and Dwight, Shaq was DOMINANT AND CONSISTANT AND PLAYED WITH PASSION. My FINAL POINT is that Ewing HAD IT ALL. The true Jump Shot, Good FT shooter, dominant down low, could dribble and drive, could even shoot a 3 if needed. Great rebounder, goo shot blocker, and was your just all around CENTER that you don't see in todays Game. Ewing played the 5 like a small forward. It's a Damn shame that he couldn't Get 1 ring. Never could beat MJ since College. Then the years Jordan was out of the NBA ( 93-94 ) (98-99 ) and lost in both finals. 7 games against Houston was oh so close. Atleast he got the gold medal with the USA dream team. All that said, Ewing in my opinion top5 BIG MEN EVER. MJ is the GOAT
The game has been posted by two uploaders already, I think by Scottie33Pippen and probably ForEmily23. Never gets old though, I like to watch different takes on games. Thanks, Hoops.
It's a shame Pat Riley skipped town when he did! MJ seemed to always step it up that much more when competing against Riley's teams! Once detroit got swept in 91', this knick team was probably the best competition MJ faced until the 98' pacers!
Give Kobe the best defender and all-around player (scorer, charge taker, shot blocker, shooter, and passer) (today's version would be a less offensively gifted LeBron) in the league and he'll get 6 rings without a center too.
Larry Johnson was no longer the explosive player he once was in his early days in Charlotte from the back injuries during the 1993-94 Season. Before on the rebounds he would explode for a dunk but in his final years with the Hornets and with the Knicks he had no explosion in his step.
it's disgusting isn't it? he emulates his facial expressions too, the way he talks, his entire repertoire - the fade away, the form on his jumper. it's just one of a million reasons Kobe will never be MJ or close to his equal. MJ is the GOAT
Hey Hoops, do you have the Bulls vs. Celtics game where Jordan scored a 3pt jump shot fadeaway from almost out of bounds with less than a second to go and it left his hand just after the buzzer. Had it counted Bulls would have won. I think Bird was in his final season at that point?
What a game that was... these players like Jordan, Pippen, Ewing, Starks, Barkkley, Malone, Stockton, Drexler, Olajuwon, David Robinson...these times will never happen again. Today's NBA is all fake and weak, simply can't be compared to 70s, 80s or 90s.... those were the times.
If anyone thinks Lebron is better then MJ then it's cause of one of these reasons.... 1) they were born in the 90s and never seen MJ play 2) just a hater 3) just flat out do know basketball. MJ is the best player ever. Period,
"than" mj.
4) they have low standards of greatness
4) they worship a 6 time looser, that hasn’t passed Magic (5rings, 9-12 finals), Russel, Bird, Kareem, Bryant...
In 1997 LeBron was 13 y old.Hi saw MJ live on action but for me to MJ is better than LeBron.
I was born in 1996 and MJ is the greatest basketball player of all time. Period
That MJ defense at the end omg he's the greatest!
Jordan looks like he's in a video game with a cheat code!
nah, even 2k can't play like MJ.
😂 😂
MJ got that smirk on his face probably thinking to himself "I'm about to do it to them (the Knicks) again"
ITS TRULY AMAZING HOW JORDAN MAKES IT LOOK THIS EASY !
it looks easy because he always give his best on the court. goat mentality
I bet every time the bulls and knicks played whoever guarded MJ was like damn i gotta long night ahead of me.
Tha Main_event not only the knicks player task with that job, but every player on every team that had that job thought that.
that was every team
That’s was the whole league
Therealking Jaymes
That’s kind of what JR Rider said.
MJ the Knick Killer
it's amazing how quickly jordan gets his shots off. the defender has no time to react. true dominance.
His ability to fake then move fluidly into a space and be ready to shoot in less time than the space of a heartbeat is unsurpassed. It's a privilege to have lived in the time of Michael Jordan.
You wont see a player who still can smile when his team is down w/ a minute left. GOAT
MJ may have been smiling most of the time, but if Longley had missed those free throws Jordan would've choked him right there on the court.
THAT is why they are laughing, Luke knows MJ would...
😂 😂 😂 😂
That is just unreal. There is no zone like MJ's. Never was never will be.
MJ is simply the GOAT. So many moves in his arsenal.

He's grin after the 3 point shot. Hahaha! Like, I am coming to get you message.
i will also take some pizza and pop and watch these replays of the great nba past...of course jordan in particular :) thank you for all the uploads
Michael's career alone can be about smacking around the Knicks.
And the pacers
LMFAO!!!! Ain’t that the truth.
the GOAT...i was in highschool 9th grade when they reach the first chip...the greatest era indeed, every game was a joy to watch.
larry bird said during the 1998 playoffs what is like hard and extra ordinary to some is a routine for mj!!♥
he makes it look simple and yet at that time and even now, especially now..it will remain always and forever special & extra ordinary!♥ that is why new york will always be special to mj and so as new york adores mj!!♥
Absolutely crazy. ❤ This is perfection. ❤MJ❤

optimus2g i was soooooo damn mad that the Knicks stopped the Bulls from having back to back 70 win seasons.
thanks again for your work, the best thing in my day so far
Those who compare Lebron with Jordan are idiots and I say this with all due respect. It doesn`t matter how big and athletic Lebron is, Jordan was faster, graceful and a more well rounded player. Lebron is just a machine, not grace at all.
I agree with you Hernando!

Oh man now I know you're just fucking with me cause NO ONE anywhere has ever said that LOL.
Nobody can touch mj's goat status! Incomparable.
The Knicks probably had more lane violations than any team in the 90's. Larry Johnson, Patrick Ewing, Anthony Mason...I could fix dinner, come back into the living room and they'd STILL be at the free throw line!
Ahhh man... those jordan 12's looking amazing... great vid hoops.. 5 stars

That cross over for three... Come on in today's league I think he could learn how to shoot a consistent three.
with his work ethic? Yup. Especially since he was so great at shooting midrange. It's not like he's starting from nothing. He wouldn't be curry but he wouldn't need to be
His crossovers are so underated he is the goat
Larry Johnson lookin' like Bruh Man from Martin

thanks for upload. truely amazing. shooting fade away is already tought, shooting fade away plus hanging in the air, only MJ can do that.
Another amazing play by the legend #23
How dare they even compare his airness to LeBron. Absolutely absurd. The game was played at a very physical level during Jordan's years and yet he was able to sustain all of the punishments. MJ played with style and grace. And this was a better way to prove that he carried this bulls team on his back because they always say he had better teammates than LeBron. Hoop you are legend, keep the great work!!!
Jordan is just simply the best ever. No one really is even close.
u have the best vids and they r good & clear
It is unbelievable that inside the MSG people were actually cheering for each MJ basket... notice how when other bull players score the crowd is quiet...but when MJ scores they cheer...

Jordan just loved beating the Knicks at their home. Scottie and Rodman were also into it...
Jordan knew they were going to win.. He knew he was on.
Oakley tried as hard as he could to give Jordan a flagrant, is that Michael was so strong 💪, he takes the contact, still make the shot and go to the free throw line insane
what amazes me is that he does it within the frame of the offense. Kobe, still millenniums to go before he gets to MJ
The best team ever.
80s and 90s nba were the best era.
No matter what he did not give up.
Wins were suddenly hard to come by for the Bulls in April of 97. Fatigue was definitely a factor. Thankfully MJ was able to dig down deep with some much needed 4th quarter heroics!

The most insane thing about Michael Jordan was that as he got older he got BETTER... When he was younger he would rely on athleticism but as time went on he thought the game out more using deception and basic fundementals so he saved energy with age so he did more with less...
That footwork was otherworldly
Fremantle man from western australia Longley sealing it 😄
This video is the pure definition and symbolization of "The Closer."
20 points in the last quarter....he could ignite so easily. And this NY team was elite
One of the reasons MJ is the GOAT is his will to win. Didn't matter if it was playoffs, regular season, pre-season, or practice. He played hard no matter what the game -- how many others can you say that about?

the reason jordan was so calm is it is not a playoff game and its the knicks. They are like the pistons of 2006-10, Good and bad
MJ has the better jump shot than Kobe or Lebron. This is what sets him apart. You can tell from very early days.
Houston's my boy, but he never had the foot speed to guard quick opponents. And this IS MJ we're talking about.
The game has been posted by two uploaders already, I think by Scottie33Pippen and probably ForEmily23. Never gets old though, I like to watch different takes on games. Thanks, Hoops.
what a killer instinct!
simply THE GOAT!!!
thats beatiful basketball,
we don't see much nowadays
amazing
though i would have liked if you had put in the slow motions (replays, new angles) of the jump shots, if they aired any...
1:40 love that footwork...
Larry "Grand Ma Ma" Johnson
It's a shame Pat Riley skipped town when he did! MJ seemed to always step it up that much more when competing against Riley's teams! Once detroit got swept in 91', this knick team was probably the best competition MJ faced until the 98' pacers!
Yah Iverson crossed Mike and got his one move fame. But did yall forget, MJ still scored 35 and won the game! G.O.A.T
The announcer make Jordans game Epic.
pure greatness
MIKE ON HIS PRIME AT 34 YRS OLD! 😀
omg more 2nd-3peat MJ video. thanks hoop.
MJ at the free throw line 4:00 shows he had some muscles in those biceps.
Yep. This would begin his 3-point "L" flashing days.
Lebron ....Kobe...TMac...and friends
can not even be compared to MJ
who will stay the best for years ....
I don't Falk, but I'm subscribed to Hoops and this video looked interesting and it was.
it's disgusting isn't it? he emulates his facial expressions too, the way he talks, his entire repertoire - the fade away, the form on his jumper. it's just one of a million reasons Kobe will never be MJ or close to his equal. MJ is the GOAT
@KilroyLEGEND Not one basketball player had tattoos before Allen Iverson.
@macoy346 and the 2 buzzer beater against Portland and Suns in playoffs...It was one of his greatest moment.
Best Ever
THAT is how it's done
Just as i remember!!!!
Hey Hoops, do you have the Bulls vs. Celtics game where Jordan scored a 3pt jump shot fadeaway from almost out of bounds with less than a second to go and it left his hand just after the buzzer. Had it counted Bulls would have won. I think Bird was in his final season at that point?
like ur profile pic dude ...2 greats
What a game that was... these players like Jordan, Pippen, Ewing, Starks, Barkkley, Malone, Stockton, Drexler, Olajuwon, David Robinson...these times will never happen again. Today's NBA is all fake and weak, simply can't be compared to 70s, 80s or 90s.... those were the times.
LeBron will never be this good.
