And the Knicks did it at the latter part of the regular season, a “two-edge” reminder of new-look Knicks are capable of should they meet again in the Playoffs.
In the process, they spoiled the Bulls’ bid to have consecutive 70-win seasons, which is never done up to now (be it back-to-back or in separate years).

    • @bradleyboyer9979

Pippen did a lot of things that weren't on the stat sheet.
More than any other player I've ever watched, his stat lines didn't do him justice.
Jordan and Pippen together created teams that were better than the sum of their parts.
Many of the other guys on the team played at All-Star levels with the Bulls, only to later go somewhere else and barely have any impact.
Longley, Kukoc, Randy Brown, Judge Buechler, Ron Harper...
The combo of Jordan and Pippen made them all a lot better.

Agreed. Best regular season game I’ve ever seen. All four games of this season series between NY and Chicago were imo the best basketball I’ve ever seen. Elite offense and defense, pride and passion on display by every player and coach, huge shots made by the superstars (especially MJ and Pat), and a loud, passionate crowd that isn’t full of disinterested 1%ers like today’s games. All four games decided by 4 points or less and went down to the final shot. Both teams winning twice, once at home and once on the other’s home floor. Incredible. We were robbed of an all-time great Eastern Conference Finals.

I know the debate about MJ vs Lebron continues on but I have to say seeing that I saw Jordan play when he was with the Bulls, it wasn't just his slashing to the lane and dunking the ball. It was Jordan's ability to make something out of nothing on a play or the defender playing good defense on him. It didn't matter, Jordan was still Jordan and could still score the bucket. Jordan's fadeaway jumper was impossible to defend.

  • @hmhm856
    @hmhm856 8 วันที่ผ่านมา

To think, that if the Bulls won this game (or Knicks lost this game):
    - Bulls get back-to-back 70 win seasons
    - Bulls end the season tied with the 1985-1986 Celtics for best regular-season-home-record (since the NBA/ABA merger) with a record of 40-1, but Bulls ended with a 39-2 home record. Last 1995-1996 season, Bulls also lost their final home game of the season (Pacers) and also ended the season with a home record of 39-2. The other team that the Bulls lost at home in the 1995-1996 season was the Hornets, while the other team that the Bulls lost at home in the 1996-1997 season was Miami.
    - Knicks get the 4-seed instead of the 3-seed
    - Knicks get the Grant-Hill Pistons in the first round instead of the overachieving Hornets in the first round. So not a guarantee that the Knicks would have beaten the Hill-Pistons
    - Bulls would then face the Knicks/Pistons in the second round, which were two teams that many considered a possible tough playoff series for the Bulls in the 1997 playoffs.
    - Knicks dont get to face the Miami Heat in these playoffs, unless the Knicks beat the Pistons and then the Bulls to face the Heat in the Conference Finals. So the Heat/Knicks rivalry might have never happened.

And then, in the Playoffs, the refs and the NBA changed history, suspending FIVE Knicks over the last two games against the Heat -- who were down 3-1 before the catastrophic Game 5 (I do hope PJ Brown is rotting in some kind of hell, wherever he is). All these years later, I am STILL pissed... and I will *always* wonder if 1997 was the year that Ewing and his team could have dethroned the GOAT, Michael Jordan, and gone on to win the championship. No one else could have managed it but my Knicks, but we'll never know for sure. Damn.
