How do you know the white shedding is not from e-filing down your natural nail rather than your cuticle? I've always wondered this! If you have the answer that would be amazing
Thanks for asking for me it's easier to tell becouse I don't apply much pressure with my e-file and I have taken e-filing classes to learn how to properly file without damaging the natural nail. Another way to know is you can feel the heat and see the dips on the natural nail. The main reason I use the e-file is because I have fibromyalgia and it affects my hands the worst I wouldn't be able to file all my clients by hands it just not physically possible for me so I had to learn how to use a drill to help with my pain. I also have a e-file and drill bit video with info on it. Thanks for watching 💕
The way I learned was by just accidentally filing too much one time on a fill I did on myself. I didnt notice until the next time I did my nails... (There was no pain or heat when I was filing) I did a soak-off, and I could see a little dip in my nail. I learned my lesson, and just didn't do it again. You live and you learn. I don't do other people's nails though, so I don't ever have to worry about causing harm to anyone else ...
I just subscribed. I found your video very helpful. I’ve used regular polish for years but have now expanded to gel and dip polishes. Your explanations are easy understand and your voice is easy to listen to. Tfs
thanks so much for your video i've been a nail tech for 30 yrs and was having so many issues with dip because the activator was harding my dip top coat, im hoping to use up all the dip colors by doing as you've said and using a gel topcoat praying this will work as i have lots of clients who want dip nails
Excellent tutorial! Thank you because I have tried the dipping according to instruction and it was less than spectacular. I will try this and you speak clearly and not too fast, appreciate you. Thanks again.
Yes it does you just need to make sure you add a layer or two extra just in the well, where the nail tip meets the natural nail so that you have a strong Apex.
Thank you 😘 I do cute the gel polish I just forgot to include it in the video. Any gel had to always be cured and I am trying my best to always include that part or say it in my newer videos. ❤️

i love it, it is quick and easy to do and this is what i was looking for when you do my nails at home. i would normally use base code when i was doing dip with regular acrylic.
I love this hack, I discovered a month ago bcs I was searching something to protect my long naturals nails (they start to broke up). And I wanted something that wasn't to agresive like the acrylic with monomer and this save my nails haha
so do i understand right that you can use the dip podwder system with acrylic powders? somewhere else i saw them using acrylic liquid but you don't need that if you have dip powder base and activator? Because that would be perfect because you can get them in much bigger containers
If you’ve seen those viral videos were they repair things with ramen noodles and superglue its exactly the same procedure as “dip nails” you’re using a cyanoacrylate based glue to harden the acrylic dust
lauraeline99 the brands saw everyone going to gels and thought “how can we market acrylic differently enough to draw people back in” so they marketed it as some natural new healthy product
Can you brush monomer over the top as an activator? We don’t have access to ship many product and haven’t looked about this one but would like to know the answer to this one.
I don't recommend that becouse glue doesn't activate with monomer only acrylic powder does and it will hardern but pop off withing a few days. Monomer and acrylic powder need a primer or base to adhere unless the monomer already as it in the product. If you want to use monomer I recommend just doing an acrylic set. Any beauty store that has nail products carries and activator, I'm sorry to hear that it's definitely not fair to be able to get your hands on many products but I recommend seeing if any nail store near you carries a dip kit which should have an activator. Also I have heard Walmart and targets carry little dip sets that can probably help. 🙂 Thanks for watching and commenting 💓
Yesenia Estrella De Anda I’m a licensed tech so buying from any store isn’t the issue just where I live is. I’ll order some activator for those just in case I want to use this. Thank you!

I don't know how good it is, but I noticed at Walmart there was a dip kit and you can buy the activator with the kit or separate. Edit: This is the nicest set of dipped nails I have seen so far. I'm going to try your method. I already have a pipette to use as well. That idea is sheer GENIUS! I have watched a lot of dip nail videos and I haven't seen anyone use a pipette. Decorate them and get a patent, you could sell them.
From what I remember that kit has an activator. It should have everything you need to do your own nails and sometimes there on sale. Thanks for watching and for commenting ❤️
@@feliciabreshears48 I haven't tried it yet but I have it. I have been sick so I haven't felt up to doing my nails. This week I will do them and let you know. I'm sure it's going to work pretty well though.
Hi, when you use glue you don't it will dry by itself. Gljust give it enough tike to air dry. When you apply the gel top coat to seal it then that's what you cure under the lamp. Hope that helps.
So I just started to do my own nails. I went to sally and was sold a powder and acrylic nail liquid. Been trying and trying to make a bead not runny. But it never worked. Today I took a close look at the powder. It is dip powder! I already did my whole left hand as best I could and then applied a sally Hanson gel polish. Didnt like the color so I went to put a gelish over the top. But stopped to read that label. Soooo I decided to put the dip powder over the wet gelish. Then put under the uv light. It dried nice and hard. Then I put on another round of dip and gelish polish, uv again then top coat and uv. Geesh... So I'm wondering if instead of using the base/top coat then dip then activator if I will just be able to use what I have on hand. I guess I will wait and see b4 I go and buy 2 more products. And I will not trust the salesperson to get me the right products!
Hi Angela thanks for commenting ❤️ no need to go and buy any more products you can. Just use gel base then apply the powder then cute it under the lamp. Almost Sam exact way I show you on my video excluding the activator and your base / glue is the gel base. I get what you mean and you can use dip powders with the liquid (monomer) you just have to use less liquid and more powder so that the bead is firmer. Hope that helps ❣️
Hey I've done great nails with this method and it doesn't even need much filing! If you want to build fake nails then it will take forever but just to strengthen your own nails then it's an amazing method. It lasts a month and they are still a little bit flexible!
@@ioanna_vsl Kiara Sky has a great tutorial about building nail extensions with dip powders. Instead of brushing the base from cuticle area to tip, build in stages like u would with regular acrylic beads. Start just behind the tip, then from apex to tip, lastly the full nail. Hope this helps.
I’m learning to do my nails & I’ve boughten acrylic but for the life on me I can’t get it to work so I’m wondering instead of using glue can I use a gel base & cure it after each coat? If yes would I still have to use an activator once I’m done with all the coating?
You can use gel and no you don't need an activator when using gel. Make sure you prep your nails dehydrate a d put a gel base then go in with gel and powder and cure every layer. Work in thin layers so you don't get heat spikes. Trust me you can get it just give yourself time and practice 😉❤️
Hi!!! What kind of activator can I use if I Walmart is the only place available? Or if I don’t want to get out because of the quarantine what could I use? Also what’s the best topcoat? I have unused acrylics I bought from Organic MX could I use that too??? It’s been sitting for a year now.
I don't think Walmart sells activator maybe if they have a dip kit. I have heard people use acetone or alcohol as an activator but my personal opinion acetone breaks product down and most likely won't be as strong. Alcohol might work but I have never tried it. Sally's beauty supply has dip kits and it has an activator and you can order online. Top coats are all preference from person to person. My favorites are the gel bottle top coat, enail couture top coat called shinee, yayogee top coat and azure top coat. Any acrylic powder works great with dip. Hope that helps ❣️

@@inuyashasmells I would keep it the same it has work great for me I just have to make sure I really prepare the nail plate and dehydrate my nails to make sure I get the best adhesion of the glue to my nail.
@@inuyashasmells I wouldn't put anything in between the glue and the natural nail. If your using nail glue only use that with the powder and then the activator of your choice if you want to use gel base then use it but continue with that base or with clear gel.
So I’m not a nail tech at all. I use clear acrylic and 5-second gel resin. The “activator” I use is acetone🤦🏻♀️ only because I noticed it melts it smooth. Thank you for sharing activators to use!
Hmm never heard of that does it work for you? Acetone dissolves and removes any artificial product like acrylic and glue. I wonder the same
The way I learned was by just accidentally filing too much one time on a fill I did on myself.
Tfs
I love this! I’m Definitely ordering all these products. Your nails look beautiful!!!!
Thank you! Yes for diy at home this is awesome money saving and you can get creative 😍😘
I love this tutorial. Your nails are beautiful
Thank you so much❤️ your comment was filtered and u just saw it so sorry😘
Omg 🙀 you’ve blown my mind with this video! Saved me so much money AND I learn a new technique! Thank you!!!
That's great to hear it's super easy and yes saves a ton of money. Thanks for commenting ❤️
Wow! I love your dropper method!
Gorgeous❣
Awesome video. Clear, concise and to the point, with gorgeous nails. Love them. The best instructional video I've seen! Thank you ❣💋
Thanks so much I appreciate all the feedback ❤️
thanks so much for your video i've been a nail tech for 30 yrs and was having so many issues with dip because the activator was harding my dip top coat, im hoping to use up all the dip colors by doing as you've said and using a gel topcoat praying this will work as i have lots of clients who want dip nails
So you can use any nail glue to do this with any acrylic ?
Yes any nail glue with any acrylic the finer the acrylic the smoother application. ❤️
Really pretty pink!
Thanks 😘
That music came out of nowhere, it was random 😆I would've rather just kept listening to you
Im sorru I had already uploaded it when I realized. All my future videos I do my best to hear them 2-3 through to make sure 💕
Me too 💙
I need to try this love the dipping method
Definitely worth trying thanks for watching 😘
GAME CHANGER!!! Thanks!! So excited to do this! I have neon acrylic I can’t wait to dip into!! Yassss girl lol
Glad to hear thanks for watching 💕
Excellent tutorial! Thank you because I have tried the dipping according to instruction and it was less than spectacular. I will try this and you speak clearly and not too fast, appreciate you. Thanks again.
Thank you, I really needed a video like this. I'll start saving so much money for now on. I appreciate this video.
Thank you sty for the late response did you try it? Did you like it?
Love this. And that color is very pretty on your skin tone
Thank you ❤️😘
Would this work if you added a tip onto your nail?
It works for me
Yes it does you just need to make sure you add a layer or two extra just in the well, where the nail tip meets the natural nail so that you have a strong Apex.
Yesenia Estrella De Anda great tip!! I will be trying it!
I always wondered if regular acrylic worked. Thanks for the tutorial. I have weak nails and this is perfect for me.
Have you tried it? Did you like it? Glad you enjoyed my video 😁❤️
Hi, great video. I was wondering why you don’t have to use a curing lamp with your gel polish? 😊
Thank you 😘 I do cute the gel polish I just forgot to include it in the video. Any gel had to always be cured and I am trying my best to always include that part or say it in my newer videos. ❤️
I just got engaged n was looking for an easy diy set to do. Beautiful video n nails 😊
Thank you for such a beautiful and well explained titorial.
Thank you 🙂💕
This is wonderful am definitely leaving monomer and doing the dip acrylic n dip gel thank u very much♥️♥️
Wipe your brush after going over the acrylic because your putting the product back into the glue and then the glue clogs and brush goes hard x
Thanks for the tips, yes I use activator I just prefer brush on activator than spray.
Yesenia Estrella De Anda never really used a brush on activator may give you a try 😊 your nails look beautiful xx
Do u cure yr nails with each coat u do?
@@Rachruff1979 sometimes I just brush on an activator that came in a sprayer bottle .... No need to buy another product if you have product on hand that really is the same!
I wipe my brush after applying and my glue still clumps up /: Does anyone have any tips??
Gorgeous quick and fast, and very nice
Thanks you 😘
this is a life saver ! I'm done paying the nail tech so much money ! wow 😂
Once you get the hang of it you will love how much your saving and how good you get with time definitely try it ❤️
Yesenia Estrella De Anda thanks 😊
@@kayjames494 thank you for watching & commenting ❤️😘
Yesenia Estrella De Anda ☺
Yes!!! This is what I've been looking for i dont have anymore monomer and have all this acrylic thank you so much!!!!
Wondering if you can do a pink and white ombre with this method?
You definitely can but I personally perfer to do both French and ombre with polish.
@@YeseniaEstrellaDeAnda what do you mean with polish, are you going to do a tutorial, or do you have one
I have a how to do a French manicure with gel polish video on my channel. I have an ombre video on my list for videos to do soon.
Kiara Sky's page just posted a dip powder ombre effect video. 😊
Omg i like it a lot wanna do it bu before i have got a question?Do you think i can use glue and acrylic powder mix and sitck artifial nails?
Just a suggestion: I use a spray activator. It’s just easier for me.
may i ask where you get it from?
Rayito De Sol I get mine at Sally’s. Any resin activator works rather brush or spray. 🙂
Sally’s Beauty Supply.
I use to use spray but I hated the smell and how my clients ts would complain of it going all around there skin. The brush is definitely my preference but they both worth the same and do the job thanks for your feedback 😊💓
@@YeseniaEstrellaDeAnda I bought a spray activator also, I didn't realize the spray is same as stuff with brush. The kids dip nail kit comes a spray activator. Thanks for tips!
Gorgeous set. I love the color. Boy you made that look so so easy.
A pippette! you are a genius. I’ve just ordered a stack. Thank you. I hated using the scoop - it is so awkward. ✌🏻✌🏻✌🏻
Aww thanks I always forget what they are called. Using a pippette has save me product and time glad to hear 💕 thanks for watching 😁
@@YeseniaEstrellaDeAnda I've never, ever seen that done before, but it's sheer genius!!! Makes so much more sense for conserving product, n prevents that weird clumping that happens when u accidentally get too much!❤️
Same here!! This is my preferred method of overlay with my clients, but I hate trying to 'tap' the perfect amount of powder off of the scoop.
I am ordering a bag of pipettes now.
Thanks for this frustration free, time saving tip!!
I noticed that the pipettes come in different milliliters what size do you use
Sandy Howard i was wondering the same thing! Is 2ml too small?
Thank you so much for sharing! Just bumped into ur video and I loved it. I learned many tricks and even had a couple questions answered that I didn't know I had lol. Thank you!
Thank you so much ❤️😊😘
Are these easy to remove? Does the glue dissolve with acetone?
Yes very easy just be gentle when removing it with cuticle Pusher you don't want to forcefully remove dip that is not ready to slide right off.
i love it, it is quick and easy to do and this is what i was looking for when you do my nails at home. i would normally use base code when i was doing dip with regular acrylic.
I love this hack, I discovered a month ago bcs I was searching something to protect my long naturals nails (they start to broke up). And I wanted something that wasn't to agresive like the acrylic with monomer and this save my nails haha
Love 💖 Love 💖 Love your tutorials 🌹🌹🌹
Thank you so much 💎💎💎
Thank you for the love and support ❤️😘
I’m so glad you did this because I accidentally brought the acrylic powder and was like oh no but I’m happy I can still use it
Awesome you can do so much with acrylic powder! Glad you enjoyed my video thanks for watching 💕
so do i understand right that you can use the dip podwder system with acrylic powders? somewhere else i saw them using acrylic liquid but you don't need that if you have dip powder base and activator? Because that would be perfect because you can get them in much bigger containers
lauraeline99 dip powder *IS* acrylic powder as far as im aware its just marketed differently
If you’ve seen those viral videos were they repair things with ramen noodles and superglue its exactly the same procedure as “dip nails” you’re using a cyanoacrylate based glue to harden the acrylic dust
@@Poppliopup Thanks! I was thinking the same but just wasn't sure.
lauraeline99 the brands saw everyone going to gels and thought “how can we market acrylic differently enough to draw people back in” so they marketed it as some natural new healthy product
@@Poppliopup its smart, but it won't work with me anymore xD i'm glad i found this out
thanks for sharing. Can you use make up brush for dusting?
Love More yes just make sure it’s a really soft brush.
Thanks for replying🤗
Yes you can. I use only makeup brush with extremely soft bristles 😘
This tutorial is the best so far.
Thank you 💓
Pipette
This method looks like something that I could do.
Thanks 😉 yes it's super easy if you can polish your nails you could do this! Try it you might just love it! ❤️
Nice work! I would love to see how you do these powder nails when it’s time for a fill
Thank you!
Andrea Whisenant I use monomer as my activator. I’m going on week 5 with my nails. I’d say it works great!
The acrylic dip technique involves a few products: acrylic powder, nail glue, and a top coat. To begin, you apply a layer of glue all over your nail. You then dip your nail into any acrylic powder you choose while the glue is still wet. After taking out your finger, tap the excess powder off the nail and dust it away after the glue is completely dry. You repeat this process two or three times depending on your preference: layering glue and acrylic powder. Once you’re satisfied with the color, simply shape up the nail to make it smooth and add a topcoat!
paula rooney you forgot the activator. If you don’t do that step the nails won’t cure.
You are awesome, thanks for sharing.
I don't know how good it is, but I noticed at Walmart there was a dip kit and you can buy the activator with the kit or separate.
Edit:
This is the nicest set of dipped nails I have seen so far. I'm going to try your method. I already have a pipette to use as well. That idea is sheer GENIUS! I have watched a lot of dip nail videos and I haven't seen anyone use a pipette. Decorate them and get a patent, you could sell them.
Did you try the kit with this video method? Can you tell me if you liked it?
From what I remember that kit has an activator. It should have everything you need to do your own nails and sometimes there on sale. Thanks for watching and for commenting ❤️
@@feliciabreshears48 I haven't tried it yet but I have it. I have been sick so I haven't felt up to doing my nails. This week I will do them and let you know. I'm sure it's going to work pretty well though.
@@YeseniaEstrellaDeAnda You're welcome. I'm enjoying your channel. Thanks for the great content. 😊
do u need to put them under a lamp once applyed powder to the nail with the glue
Yesenia Estrella De Anda thank you so much!!!😘
@@judym1681 ofcout thanks for watching 💕
So glad I watched your video I learned so much so I'm just checking that you used nail glue that you would uses to stick nail tips on thanks x
I thought so too
Yes if you look at a dip systems base it's ingredients say cyanoacrylate which is glue. So nail glue definitely works.
@@YeseniaEstrellaDeAnda i know I shouldnt but I actually use super glue !!!! - I know... the nail glue I find always comes off...
Yesenia Estrella De Anda thank you! Sure did! Went to Walmart and got a kit for now. And I’ll be trying it out today!
@@pauletterocha1056 awesome let me know how it works for you. Mesg me on insta if your having issues but this video should help I also have 2 or 3 more dip videos. 😁
Can you use any type of dip powder with the glue and activator? I have SNS powders and Sheba Nail powders.
Yes any powder works 🥰 thanks for commenting
I usually do not like short nails, but these look so cute I actually want to try some.
Can I just use monomer as an activator??
If you would like to, I never used it and won't used it it's just my preference I prefer to use monomer when I sculp nails but I have heard from people that monomer works for them.
Thanks 😁
Can you do fill ins with this method? Also I watched your video and love it but I don’t have the activator or nail glue but I saw another video in the past where all they used was gel basecoat polish and the acrylic powder and then a top coat and gel polish also they used the light. Why is your way better or correct? I’m just wanting to learn.
Can you use that nail glue with other dip powders?
Yes any nail glue any acrylic powder. The finer the acrylic powder the smoother the application will be.
Yesenia Estrella De Anda is there anything that you would change about this method or would you keep it the same
@@inuyashasmells I would keep it the same it has work great for me I just have to make sure I really prepare the nail plate and dehydrate my nails to make sure I get the best adhesion of the glue to my nail.
Yesenia Estrella De Anda last question can I use a thin coat of long lasting base coat on my natural nail this continue on with this method
@@inuyashasmells I wouldn't put anything in between the glue and the natural nail. If your using nail glue only use that with the powder and then the activator of your choice if you want to use gel base then use it but continue with that base or with clear gel.
That music was intense ☺️ I was loving ur narration. 🌸💕
Thank you so much for watching 🥰 I'm sorry I couldn't edit it after I uploaded it 😔
I definitely want to try this! Can you do this application with nail tips? I have short stubby nail beds. 😫
Yes i do. I also have small nail beds..
Works great on me ..no problems ever
You can just make sure to create an apex! Look for Kiara Sky videos
Yes you can just add more glue and product to the well, where the nail tip meets your natural nail 😍😘
Dipping last as long and is as strong as regular acrylic it's the prepping of the nail that has to be done correctly and you should have no problem 😊
Love it will be trying this method
Awsome thanks for watching 💕
So u apply brush glue and then put acrilic powder over it?
Yes that is exactly what dip is. You have to make sure you put an activator to harden the glue and acrylic powder.
Yesenia Estrella De Anda how many times do u need to put the activator?
Beautiful nail color, great job!😁
Thank you Elaine ❤️
So I’m not a nail tech at all. I use clear acrylic and 5-second gel resin. The “activator” I use is acetone🤦🏻♀️ only because I noticed it melts it smooth. Thank you for sharing activators to use!
Hmm never heard of that does it work for you? Acetone dissolves and removes any artificial product like acrylic and glue. I highly recommend using an activator made specifically for dip nails so that your results last. No problem Sally's always has sales on them too. Thanks for taking the time to comment 💓
@@YeseniaEstrellaDeAnda I don't soak the nail, just brush it quickly to "seal" it. It lasts at least 2 weeks. But I am going to try activators specifically for dip nails.
@@jesskassy8759 yes I recommend the activator its specifically made to work with nail glue. Hope you end up liking the results! 😊
