You don’t need uv lamp for this cause dip powder is attached with nail glue nd using monomer is exactly the same as acrylic powder just more creamer. I think anyways. I’ve been using dip powders cause there cheaper than original acrylics. 👍🏽
I thought it would make for better control because it was so fine a product? But I didn’t know because to be honest I’ve only worked with acrylic powder once. I’m glad she gave a professional’s experience and thoughts!
Dip powders ARE real acrylic powder..its just more finely milled. As far as the softness and cure times, the more pigmented powders have less acrylic and probably should be used as design elements instead of full nails.
OMG! I am so happy you did this tutorial. My boss got upset at me because when a client asked me if Dip Power was like Acrylic I said to her it's a bit like Acrylic but I without the Monomer Liquid. I used the word A BIT. So you just confirmed that I was right. Thank you so much & you know I am going to show this to her.
That's exactly what I'm planning to do with some dip powders that I accidentally bought thinking they were acrylic powders. Just like how we can mix pigments with acrylic to create our own shades, we can add acrylic to them and treat them as pigments if they won't cure on their own
I have been using dip powders over a year and love it. I use it in a different way than demonstrated on this video. I brush on a base coat, gel foundation, dip or sprinkle dipping powder than cure in a lamp, again repeat process until you see the depth of your colour lastly brush on top coat cure than wipe off the dispersion layer and done. For people who have lamps that’s the way I found to do it and nails do not chip and stay on long without breakage. If no lamp than follow procedures like Anastasia did. At moment I did extension nails on me with acrylic dipping powders whatever brand you can afford to buy. Of course you prep and dehydrate the nail bed follow prep procedures really carefully not to have lifting. Thanks Anastasia as always🙏🏻
im glad you made this video, i had been requesting this from other you tube nail techs, but you made the video without even requesting it. Thank you it was very informative
Very useful information! Using the same monomer and brush is a good idea, it minimizes the variables allowing for a better conclusion. I will have to test what I have - my daughter wants acrylics, and all I have is clear.
All dip powders come with an activator, what if you can use it like an acrylic but you just have to use the activator in top to set it in? Just a thought
I'm so glad that kiss powders work... I have tons of colors from them in dip... I'll be testing them out on my practice hand and I'll let you know if the colors work.... I'm definitely going to see if the white, red and blues work....
My salon uses monomer with gel powders and it always works. I've gotten many ombres done with it. But I think they use quick speed monomer. They cure for about 2 min.
Thank you. I found some beautiful dips that I experimented with because I hate the dip process. I have used dip powder as acrylic overlay. You need to experiment with dryness of the bead/pearl. Some are not fine enough and look grainy. I don't think a lot are strong enough because they seem brittle. You can mix them with clear gel or acrylic to make sure that it's strong. I had a awful time filing though.
Omg I just bought the revel powder and heard the dip stuff wasn’t great so I was wondering if I could use it as acrylic this video came in so handy thank you!!!!
I use dip powders as acrylics constantly. (I tried it in a pinch) But I cure them in the UV/LED lamp, then clear cap them for structure (either w clear acrylic or builder gel). I've had no problems.
Thank you so much for this video! I have some Revel dip powders, but am getting bored with dipping and wanted to move on to using monomer with them instead.
Glam & Glits’ first collection the one with all women’s names can be used as BOTH dip and regular acrylic powder. BUT I have found that a lot of them are lacking in pigmentation to be used as an acrylic & monomer system. All their other acrylic powders are extremely pigmented and work great with monomer. Hth. XO Luna
I've been experimenting like this for a while, but I never film them or take pictures. When a product works as something else I make a little note of it and try it out again to make sure. LOVE YOUR VIDEOS❣❣❣
Max'es higly pigmented color acrylics are ment to use as regular acrylic, dip, ombre and 3D. I have a couple of them, but I have just tried one of them on my nails. And they dry really slow. It might be a lot better with his new an faster setting monomer 😉 Tfs hun xoxo 💕💕
Thank you so much for this video, I was wondering if I could use my dip powder as acrylic application or if i could mix some of the dip colors with my acrylic powders
What a great video! Loved the pink glitter color you used on the final nail, stunning! I have heard some in the nail community say you could use ALL dip powders with monomer for acrylic nails and some thought you could not use any of them at all. Thank you so much for your hard work and testing so many brands to clear up this question!!! Well done!!!😁🤗💖
Dip powder is fine milled. I've used it (clear) mixed with my Gelish Structure for a harder foundation. Soaks off, files off, harder than just Structure alone, no monomer!!!
Great video! I tried this with my DND dip and it didn't work. I did try my glam and glitz with my dip system and it worked. What if you capped the ones that didn't fully cure with clear acrylic?
I have been using Quick Dip by ASP (I believe is the co name). I purchase from Sally's. My question is, can I use any dipping powder with the liquids stage 2 and stage 3. Which are the liquid gel you brush on, the dip in the powder, and then stage 3, the liquid activator? I love the products, the are just getting so hard to find in Sallys since Covid. Even ordering online thru Sallys takes so long. I would like to know if mix matching products would be possible Thanks
So I used my quick dip powders yesterday and mine didn’t cure at all I also tried to use the activator that came with the kit and it still didn’t harden .
Were those asking. About using regular acrylic powder for dipping, I’ve used it in the old application that used to be called acrygel. This was before the brand of acro gel that’s like poly gel. I prepped the nail, applied a base gel (at the time I was using Gellish foundation liquid), then applied the dip powder and cured it. I’ve been buffed it with a buffing block and repeated the process. You did have to buff it with a buffing block after you were ready to put on the two layers of topcoat because it was a little rough. You can use a small grinding mail with regular acrylic and make it finer milled. I’ve sent seen a pretty recent video from another nail tech using Kiara Sky dipping powder, and just using the gel in between coats and nuking it. She didn’t use the activator or their basecoat. Of course, there are two in one dipping powders, such as Not Polish, Chisel, IBD Dip and Sculpt. There are a couple of others you just have to google to in one dipping powder powder.
Loving this ! Quick question which I couldn’t fine answer in any videos, you or someone can help me. After using monomer with dipping power, do we need to apply activator ? The dipping power has Base, activator and top coat. Does monomer will do the job as an activator ? Thanks
I was thinking I could put the dip powder really thin on the nail mainly to get the coverage, and then encapsulate the nail in clear Acrylic for strength and durability? So use the dip powder like a pigment or design powder and use the clear for core...what do you think? :)
What are you cleaning your brush with as you build your nail??? I noticed your not dipping it in the monomer? I'm so curious! Still learning... my brush always gets so mucky! 🙄
I WONDER!!! if you do everything the same way you did in the video but at the end of each nail application you put the "hardener/ developer/ activator" … I don't and nevr did dip before so idk what its called that hardens it but I wonder if that would cure it fully, the WAH-LAH?
My nail tech uses dip powder with monomer & cures it with the uv lamp & they work perfectly each time.
Ooooooo thank you for that tip!
Your nailtech is master of freestyle 😂😂 Rules? Never heard of them 💁🏻♀️
I wondered if she put on the activator that comes with the dip on top if that would also harden it up
Certain brands are made to be a two in one (salon quality)
You don’t need uv lamp for this cause dip powder is attached with nail glue nd using monomer is exactly the same as acrylic powder just more creamer. I think anyways. I’ve been using dip powders cause there cheaper than original acrylics. 👍🏽
I have been dying for someone to do this! Thank you for sharing!
I would never have thought they could be used to build nails just as an alternative for polish.
I thought it would make for better control because it was so fine a product? But I didn’t know because to be honest I’ve only worked with acrylic powder once. I’m glad she gave a professional’s experience and thoughts!

This makes me happy. I own mostly Revel powders, and I was just thinking about possibly trying them with a brush and monomer. Nice to know they work😊

Dipping powder is acrylic though... So I hope they apologised to you.
I am pretty sure that dip powders are finely milled acrylic polymers.
That is what I am thinking as well...
YOU'RE RIGHT!
Dip powers (most of them) don't have a specific ingredient that powder used with monomer does. That means it won't work.
They sure are!
@@Stuck_on_pause it does work, I've been doing it for over a year now. Should only be used as design powders though.
You need to mix whit clear acrylic and its works🇵🇷🇵🇷😘
That is what I heard. We can become little chemists mixing our own blends...mooohahahaaaa
I do this with the cheap ones from AliExpress! Works well and it was cheaper than buying coloured acrylic powders as I'm only working on myself!
That's exactly what I'm planning to do with some dip powders that I accidentally bought thinking they were acrylic powders. Just like how we can mix pigments with acrylic to create our own shades, we can add acrylic to them and treat them as pigments if they won't cure on their own

@@jayvega4694 did it work?

Thank you, Nada!
i’m trying this right now ! if it works it would be a life saver !!
Thank you for the test! Now we see the point of the system. Could you do the opposite by testing acrylic powder with the dip liquids?
im glad you made this video, i had been requesting this from other you tube nail techs, but you made the video without even requesting it. Thank you it was very informative
Girl I adore you! Taught me so much on how to do my own nails at home. A work in progress but I'm getting there.
You're so beautiful Anastasia! And your nail videos are so helpful! Thank you for being so generous and informative:)
You are so welcome!
Thanx for sharing. CAN'T wait for your next video
Love your eye brows..thanks for your video you answered my question. I will stick to acrylic for nails
Very useful information! Using the same monomer and brush is a good idea, it minimizes the variables allowing for a better conclusion. I will have to test what I have - my daughter wants acrylics, and all I have is clear.
Thank you for sharing this video! You just answered many questions that I had about dip system. 💖💅
Thank you so much for doing this I have about 30 of revel nail dip powders but been too afraid to try it for myself.
You could still use them as acrylic by having clear base for strength, then colour, then add clear to seal. Im very sure that would work.
I was told that you can just mix some of the clear acrylic powder into the dip powder and it will work fine. I’m going to try it out.
That last nail you did with the translucent glitter pink is GORGEOUS! that color is beautiful on it's own, i need it in my life lol
What if you put activator when you finish applying
Michelle Maldonado I was thinking the same. If you have the dip powders, you most likely have purchased the hardener as well...so why not use it
I was also thinking that. Build and sculpt and when it done use the activator and that should solve the problem of softness
Yes this is what I do!
Thats what i want to know
Michelle Maldonado did you guys try this with activator... did it help hArden the nails?
If guilty pleasure is a chocolate colour, maybe that’s why it got its name. Lots of people have chocolate as a guilty pleasure. Great test. X
Makes sense. Thank you!
All dip powders come with an activator, what if you can use it like an acrylic but you just have to use the activator in top to set it in? Just a thought
Sky Rose you are actually correct .
great idea!
The activator helps harden the glue/base your use with dip systems. It would not make a difference with monomer I think
I tried it and it didn’t work, at least not for the brand Avva
Yes you will need activater to make it hard
Mix with white/clear acrylic powder; then cure in a Led/UV lamp. TFS😁😁
I know Young Nails Slick Pour can be used. They say to just use it wetter
I was wondering the same thing if the dipping powder works as a acrylic powder ;) thanks for the experiment!
Your whole look in this video is just distractingly gorgeous 😍
This was very thorough thank you for testing these brands ❤️❤️
Glad it was helpful!

Agree :)

Guilty pleasure - the brown one from Kiara Sky - I think is inspired by chocolate :)
What if you mix some dip powder with some clear acrylic powder for stability?
Guilty pleasure = chocolate maybe that's why. Good video thanks for showing.
that was my guess too
Looks like 💩! An ugly color

Yes kiara sky has monomer and 2-1 acrylic and dip and a dedicated acrylic line now… and when you did this
Hi i used as ecrylic and it's work perfectly
Oh I wish you would have tested some modelsone dipping powders with monomer too
I’m wondering if she put on the activator that comes with the dip system on top of the formed nail if it would help to harden it up.

Glam and glitz has a whole system like that coral color
I was just wondering if dip color would work and you answer my question. Thank you for that it was very helpful
Can you use dip powder over your acrylic nail?
Wonder if you could like use the dip powed like you are supposed to but cap them in regular acrylic?
less monomer, and use the activator. i do it and it works fabulously
Would they harden under a uv lamp?
Great video. What brush do you use?
Probably work better if you get an Empty pot put some of the dip powder in it then mix it with clear acrylic powder x
You have to apply activator to harden dip powders. Then they harden quickly
This makes sense.
What are you cleaning your brush with as you build your nail??? I noticed your not dipping it in the monomer? I'm so curious! Still learning... my brush always gets so mucky! 🙄
What would happen if you mix dip powder with clear acrylic powder?? Would that make it work as acrylic a little better?
For the NSI did u put them under the uv ?
You can also use acrylic powder as dip powder. Dip and acrylic powder are very versatile.

They use resin on top for the dip powders, I’m looking in to them too
What is the wet dip made out of? Is it alcohol?
I think it would be called guilty pleasure because because it’s a chocolate color and chocolate is like a guilty pleasure.
Don't dip powders use an activator painted on top to make it harden?
So u put on a coat of monomer then the dip powder
What if you apply the dip powder activator to get them to harder?
Hi, I was wondering for the Kiara sky dip powders, why does mines turn white with the monomer I use? Every colour I have turns white except black.
Did you cure it with a nail light?
What if you add some clear acrylic powder. Won't that cure better? Katla
Do you have to use activator?
Can beetles dip powder be used as acrylic???
What if you mix the dip polish with clear monomour
And guilty pleasure is a weird name for that brown colored dip powder lmfao ! I'm dying 😂😂😂
But you didn't use the activator that dipvsystems come with. Would that have made a difference? I bet it would
The activators in the dip systems are liquid monomers.
@@PrettyKittyVee dip system activators and monomer is not the same. Completely different ingredients!
I might have missed it. But what kind of liquid did you use for these trials ?
any monomer
Can you try it with topping them off with the sealer or would that be too much chemicals with the monomer?
Yes, acrylic nails can be sealed with the regular top coat
Thanks 4 sacrificing your time😁😁
Hey how are you. If I wear champagne gold dress what should do my nails
Nude with some golden accents would be perfect ☺️
Why did u not use the activator? It hardens the powder
If we use dip powder on a customer can we pour that dip powder back into the container and reuse it?
