    Hi beautiful- just completed my FIRST set yesterday and I’m SOOO IMPRESSED. I followed along in the video (how to keep nails for 3-4 weeks overlay method).
    I’m still shocked at the adhesion! Now I come back to watch bc you know the first set wasn’t TOP NOTCH but the I’m sold. As a Virgo I can do anything😂. Just a huge thanks. Sorry for long the testimonial.

    💜 video! I struggle with the cuticle area and amount of product when adhering gel tip to my nail. Still a beginner and trying different methods. It also takes me forever so I am enjoying the one hand at a time method. I generally do a topcoat over Everything because I use regular polish and switch it up frequently. Will try your method for cuticle area. One question, when you cut off the tips that much does it make it thicker at the tip of the nail?

    • @JourneyswithJai

    very nice clear video! you have a new follower :) I have a question. This overlay method where you put the tip on almost your whole nailbed with nailglue, will that reduce the risk of contactallergy, compared to if you put the tip only halfway on your nailbed? I imagine with your method you have more surface with nailglue and the other option you have more surface with buildergel, what would be less risky, the glue or the buildergel?

    • @JourneyswithJai
      @JourneyswithJai  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi,
      I only use gel nail glue/extend gel to attach extensions so I’m not sure if that would work. 🤍

    • @catpride1323
      @catpride1323 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@m4jima Technically yes you could use a builder gel, but it's not recommended, because it's thicker.
      It may cause heat spikes, and burn.
      The builder gels that are a 5 in 1 etc. that say you can use it as a glue gel to attach nail tips, are formulated for that purpose and are usually a thinner viscosity.
      I know there are those super thick putty gels, that they also use for attaching tips, but again they are ment to be used that way so the formula is different.
      If it is a straight up builder gel, they are expecting you to already have other gels or tips on the nail plate, that helps you not feel the heat.
      At the end of the day, you can only know by trying, so give it a try but I would suggest you start with your hand outside of the light, and then slowly move into the lamp.
      This way the gel cures slower and you shouldn't get a heat spike.
      Hope that helps
      🙂

      @madelinecloney 27 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hi! I’ve done that before and for me it work until you do anything with your hands lol (so I guess it doesn’t work 😅) I feel like it’s that shiny layer that’s not quite sticky enough for the tip to adhere to the gel… it’ll stay on your natural nail if you prepped correctly. (The gel not the tip) Hope this helps!

      there are different gel x nails that have options for flatter nail beds. I also realized that the natural worked best for me in most cases instead of sculpted. I hope that helps.🤍

    • @JourneyswithJai
      @JourneyswithJai  หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Hi! It sounds frustrating when gel won’t cure as expected. Here are a few things that might help troubleshoot and improve your gel application:
      1. Check Your Lamp: Make sure you’re using an LED/UV lamp with the proper wattage-usually 36W or higher for gels. If the lamp is lower than that or aging, it might not provide enough power to cure the gel fully.
      2. Proper Curing Time: Depending on the brand of gel, curing time can vary. For LED lamps, typically it’s 30-60 seconds, and for UV lamps, around 2 minutes. Double-check the recommended time for your specific gel and lamp.
      3. Thin Layers: Applying gel too thickly can prevent it from curing fully. Try applying thin, even coats and curing each layer completely before adding another.
      4. Wipe Between Layers: Some gels have a sticky layer that needs to be wiped with alcohol between coats, which can improve curing.
      5. Keep Hands Steady in the Lamp: If your hands aren’t flat and steady in the lamp, the gel might cure unevenly or not at all.
      If you still have trouble, switching to a fresh gel product or new lamp might be worth a try! Let me know if any of these help, and good luck with your nails!

    Jai, if you saw mine right now you would CRY FOR ME…..they are SO SHORT…..right to the skin, SHORT…..and the sides keep splitting and snagging while I am waiting on them to grow out enough to at least put an extension on but if I did them NOW, they would be sticking to MY ACTUAL FINGERTIPS…..🤦🏼‍♀️…….I thought maybe, just MAYBE I will put some Rubberbase clear on them to just allow them to grow out so they don’t split at the sides while they grow.
    Got my one hand caught in a gate which snapped my fingers AND the nails on that hand and on the other, I was so stressed I clipped them down and used my Drill with a sandpaper thingy on it….a bit grit just to get the nail down and there are STILL 3 that will NOT COME OFF short of me cutting the finger off so I have been cutting THOSE nails as they grow out…. no problem with those ones…..but the others……YIPES and OWIE….only thing I can think of is to do that to stop them from splitting at the sides. When that 5/8” on each side of my R Thumb and R ring and R Index finger split on both sides and then snag……OH IT HURTS and there is nothing I can DO BUT Cut off the snags so I guess…..I will try to put something on them to keep them from splitting the way they are…….
    THIS SUCKS…….and I am so mad at myself because it was my fault……always in a hurry…….when ya slow down….these things do NOT HAPPEN.
    YOU are my every 10-14 day “TREAT” as I do my nails and watch all your vids……so now I just watch while I wipe a tear with my fingers with snuggled up yucky nails…..sniff sniff…..😢😢😢
    PS: LOVE THAT LAMP!!!!!!

    You need to do a cuticle care video, yours look nice. Nail techs don't even touch cuticles now a day and the nail looks like it needs filling so quick cuz they don't be touching the cuticle.

      I agree! Her nails and cuticles look so healthy! Because of her ive started oiling mine every night and pushing back my cuticles more often.
