That's a great insight! Thank you for sharing. After going through a quite rebellious youth and starting to read more books and listen to more online lectures, I found out how stupid and brass I was and how there exist timeless ideals and geniuses that I used to overlook or didn't even hear of. I think the education system is to blame for this as it kills students' curiosity and their true eagerness to learn.
"A gentleman is a gentle man." Like centuries ago like now, politeness and care are merely misinterpreted as softness and weakness. But for every time each has its unique manifistation.
As a father of 2 young me in "this generation", I have to say that both lead healthier lifestyles than I did at their age. They are both working on their careers and attempting to figure out where and how they fit. They do face different struggles than I did at their ages and are on different paths than I was on. Proud of both of them.
Going to be honest I’m tired of these “young generation” is this that bla bla bla I’m a 33M. Try working 3 part time jobs with a degree (Finance degree & no school debt) and still can’t afford to just buy a home and have a family. Then being told you’re lazy from your elders that we are to respect yet lead us into the ground with their greed being in leadership roles like government or C-suite positions (it boggles my mind how our supposed wise elders can’t see how calling the younger generation this or than and in response the younger generation get resentful). The problem at least for me is working my freaking a$$ off and still not affording to live, I often debate what’s the point of working if I can’t even afford a normal middle class life.

Sadly gen z is in a position where they can’t afford to make any mistakes. Anything they do is filmed or documented and used against them. They aren’t given the freedom to learn from their mistakes and they can’t afford to do anything because everything is so expensive. If they are lucky enough to get a great education and work in their field of study they will have student debt for decades because jobs aren’t paying well like they used to compared to the cost of living unless you’re very high in the company. Pile this all together and gen z is very unlikely to own a home or have children so it keeps them in a state of limbo between being a teenager and an experienced adult for years on end.

Don't hate the present. Too much pessimism and misguided sense of nostalgia for a past that never was will make you believe that this is the worst time to be alive. Every age in human history comes with its own problems, but after seeing the kind life my father and grandfather lived when they were young, I feel privileged to be born in this era of attainable education, life saving medical advancement, technological efficiency and affordable luxury. Modern men live far longer, affluent lives then so called warriors of the past who died in scores over petty land issues of their feudal overlords.

thanks for understanding us gen Z for being gen X. you are the same age of my parents its ok to open up with parents when we are soft as kids. being adult we all realize all generations have problems.
The parents bad-mouthing their own kids instead of helping them and building them up are pretty much horrible. If you won't take of your children and guide them, the enemy will.

The reference to the Old Corps made me chuckle. We weren't even 6 months out of basic, and we started believing rumors about how the recruits going through now had it easier than we did last year. Graduated in '02, but those '03 Marines were soft. Lol
I liken the generational bashing to Pearl Jam's song "Not For you" ---- "All that's sacred, comes from youth. Dedications naïve and true. With no power, with nothing to do. I still remember, why don't you? Don't you? This is not for you" For some reason, when people get older---they forget. Don't forget.
I was in a bar at a comedy club in the Pacific Northwest recently and--this is not an exaggeration--over 90% of the men in there were obese, and probably half that number were morbidly obese. It was baffling: a statistical impossibility if I didn't see it with my own eyes.
The job market and economy is horrendous, and my generation (18-24), have to enter adulthood during all this. We also graduated during a pandemic shutdown.
According to CDC, suicide rates increased 37% between 2000-2018 and decreased 5% between 2018-2020. However, rates returned to their peak in 2022. Men have approximately 1.8 times higher rate than women. Meanwhile, health care, education, job opportunities, fundamental infrastructures, today are much more accessible than before. 100 years ago, the most common death is pneumonia, influenza and tuberculosis. Even childbirth is considered dangerous. Today, it's heart disease. You can't just decide not to have tuberculosis. You could just delete social media. People today are softer.
These younger generations are snowflakes. They are afraid of everything. They don’t want to leave the house. There are exceptions to this but not very many. What are they going to do when their parents are gone? They won’t know how to live. I’m glad that I won’t be around to see this country fail under their “leadership”.

Cool intro. I was confused when Baby Boomers concocted the term Generation X calling us losers when I was just 12 years old. Younger generation can’t write script technology is to blame somewhat. But when I was a kid in NYC 4000 were murdered a year today 400 a year. The greatest hurtles for me or this generation is discouragement. A good song for young people to check out is Godsmack Lighting up the Sky.
25 year College professor here, some truth about the bias. BUT my students today cannot do the work my students did 20 years ago. My syllabus is MUCH easier than it was. A great story in the Atlantic titled, "The Elite College Students Who Can’t Read Books- To read a book in college, it helps to have read a book in high school," speaks directly to this. Many are soft and lazy. Sure it's my Gen-X bias, but it's also true.

Not sure why you haven't been acknowledging my comments lately but it's fine and I'm sure it's nothing personal. Just to clarify regarding my previous comment I just wanted to explain that I do understand the differences between Sports and Suit Jackets but basically my main point was that stores tend to label everything as suits even when the garments are Blazers or sport coats therefore making it confusing for many customers is pretty much what I was trying to get across. To me Black and Charcoal seem better suited for full suits rather than as a sport coat just my opinion but you can disagree it's fine. I enjoy my Charcoal slacks with Polos and Dress shirts but I also have a pair of Heather Grey whenever I want to alternate from the Darker pair. Anyway my apologies if it seems like I'm rambling as again I just wanted to change my previous post. It's a bit of a pet peeve when you respond to someone and they don't even bother to get back to you but it's fine not my worry. My recent sport coat has a rougher texture so I do believe that it is not a Suit Jacket by any means. Have a nice day Antonio.
USNSW training (SEALs) has the data. It supports that modern men (SEAL candidates) ARE WEAKER AND MORE FRAGILE than anytime in the history of the program. They suffer more liature tears and bone fractures than ever inspite of the program being more safe amd designed to mitigate injuries. USJFK School has congruent findings. The assumed culprit is that children are not doing the outside play, bone and tendon desity building high impact excercise anymore. Anyone living in a neighborhood or even in the rural areas can see this to be true.
I don't buy the "short kings are not defined by their size". As someone who couple of inches behind the fable 6 feet I'd say you should be aware you have a short end of a stick and you should put effort to compensate for it.
I really like your content, and apply your ideas critically on my wardrobe and style and I am a true believer of the cause. I don't miss a video as I always have a good takeaway - and thoroughly enjoy it meanwhile. However on the calculator example I am skeptical: if we take a look around and see how many adults can do complicated division with pen and paper we might find that they are far and few between. If you ask them directly they will probably say they can do it.
Well there's a reason younger guys look and dress a certain way- maturity. Even in past generations the younger crowd always looked different than their older peers.
As a Marine the “old corps” talk was what first made me think about this kind of generational stuff. I absolutely refuse to talk down to younger Marines that way. I enlisted in 2005 and it was really common for guys who had served in the 90s to bash our generation of Marines and talk about how tough it was back in their time. It always kind of perplexed me. Like oh my gosh I’m so sorry we didn’t spit shine our boots and starch our cammies man. We got a little busy fighting a war in Iraq and a war in Afghanistan I guess? But hey! Tell me more about “muh old corps!!!!”
Have you read the book The Manipulated Man? This book was written in 1971 and seems more accurate and true as a reflection of our society than when it was written
Good video and advertisement, Antonio. Even still PTSD is something that seems more common today, but God revealed the science for professionals to help not only military veterans, but those raised in dysfunctional and abusive families. OK, I may be confined to this chair because of my crushed lower spine and broken brain. But I can still exercise my upper body, stress bands, pump balls, even light weights (only up to 25 pounds). I can even learn watching he right things on the internet. I have an opinion I used when I was working -- "If I did you can do it." I am more than my disease. Approaching 70, I'm willing to mentor even if it is via using technology. Warmest regards, gentlemen (that is not a sissy word). Old Mike
Perhaps it is our older men who are to blame for the "modern men". I had mentors who contributed to my success, but I am not seeing as many of those wise people these days. It's too bad that we as elders are often the weak ones who are all too eager to punch down on the younger generations.
@KevinUrban-u1z The key to wisdom is having an idea of what you don't know. That is where we can step in for guidance. I also think this is a reason that channels like this, the Jordan Petersons and the Joe Rogans of the world are getting so much attention from our youth.
Or….there’s nothing to fix and you should let people how they want. Also using a oscar nominee as the poster boy for this isn’t the flex you thing it is
It's very easy why young people don't wanna work themselves to death anymore, earning more simply isn't worth it because you barely get anything out it. Wages since the 70 ties haven't kept up with inflation, while CEO's and stockmarket earnings have skyrocketed. Geeh I wonder why the younger generation finds that a bad deal.
This is an adage as old as time. The old generation always thinking the new generation is weaker. Today's Gen Z already consider Gen Alpha as weak and soft. Especially those born in the early Gen Z era (1997-1999).
@@mibuspirit976 As a 33 (almost 34) Millennial, I don't have any real beef with GenX or GenZ. I relate to both. I do notice that the 20 something GenZs are different from the teen GenZs.
The irony is that the older generation (ideally) has been working towards making the future easier for their children, and then they go around saying how the younger generation has it easier.. while the younger generation pines for the simplicity of the older generations, while enjoying the luxuries of the outcome of the older generation's labor. Kinda funny, ain't it?😂
Honestly my man, might have to unfollow for this video. First off everyone has their own style and interpretation of masculinity, putting one of the mostly widely considered conventionally attractive young actors in the thumbnail with “soy boy” is a step too far imo. Soy boy is a dumb connotation anyway, soy is incredibly healthy and it just feeds into weird hyper male online toxicity. Not what I’ve come to expect from you in terms of professionalism and class.
Antonio I think you make good points on this and that some of these things you are arguing are valid and how over the generations this always happens. genZ for example is burdened with debt and it is almost at crisis level. The point in the weight loss and their job prospects I believe comes down to the socioeconomic conditions that they face that other generations haven’t. As a Sr. director working at my company I always drill into my leaders the following points. employees quit managers not companies. To keep top talent we as leaders should be identifying their strengths, mentoring them, really hearing them, paying them well, challenging them and getting them involved in things to do to help the. Build their careers. But most of all they have to be respected. Most people leave because their leader fails in this and it drives out top talent. I have seen this in multiple companies across the world. From the U.S. to the EU and even APAC and Japan

Great words Mr. Centeno. All I've seen about my generation on the internet is the intro to the video, which I know is incorrect. Thank you.
Thank you, Antonio. Frustrated as I often get with young people today, you bring up some excellent points. Amen. May we all encourage one another across the generations, and support one another to be the best we can be.
Its pretty much technology -malls shutting down(amazon)
-cell phone(porn, violent videos,) negativity makes social media interesting (content creators beefing all the time)
At the same time i shouldn't tip you for doing your job, door dash and video games can be a deadly combo,if you're a guy claiming to be girl or vice versa - i will call you sir or mamm(JUST BECAUSE YOUR CONFUSED DON'T MEAN I HAVE TO BE)...
Antonio i want to thank you for such brilliant content. This is positive masculinity at its finest. Literally the contrary to toxic masculinity, and brought in a way that is clever and not intimidating for young men that may be insecure about the complexities of masculinity in the modern world.
We definitely need more content like this. Keep up the great work
this is one of the best intros to a modern men are soft video ever. You've got my sub good sir.
Thank you for the points you shared in this video! It would be amazing to see more older people reaching out in building Bridges to connect with more younger people.
thanks for understanding us gen Z for being gen X. you are the same age of my parents its ok to open up with parents when we are soft as kids. being adult we all realize all generations have problems.
The parents bad-mouthing their own kids instead of helping them and building them up are pretty much horrible. If you won't take of your children and guide them, the enemy will.
In Switzerland 🇨🇭 there is compulsory military service for men, or civil defence if military service is not possible. You can clearly see the difference between military men, civil defence men and those without military service 😅
Right on!
i wish i had one or two safe people that I could open up to
"I am truly horrified by modern man. Such absence of feeling, such narrowness of outlook, such lack of passion and information, such feebleness of thought." ~ Nassim Nicholas Taleb
The reference to the Old Corps made me chuckle. We weren't even 6 months out of basic, and we started believing rumors about how the recruits going through now had it easier than we did last year. Graduated in '02, but those '03 Marines were soft. Lol
Thank you, this is a good video and I like the suggestion of all men, regardless of age, working together to help one another.
I'd rather join the younger generation and be part of the changes they make instead of hating them outright.
Antonio, you got Random Hank right where it counts. Random Hank's Random Advice for the Modern Man: develop a sense of skepticism, bordering on cynicism. There are lies, damn lies, and stats. Data can be molded to fit an agenda
Honestly such a great video sounded so genuine
Absolutely great and needed video
"Youth is wasted on the young" Probably the first generation bashing quote heard
Quote from the movie, It’s a Wonderful Life
Contrary to most of human history, we live in a time of extreme material abundance.
MIllenial research assitant here. You Sir must undergo professional training or retire from the Academia: claiming bias is true plus downgrading the quality of your work based on the quality of resources is what drags the university education into the abyss.
Great video! Thanks!
Great video Antonio!
Big one these days is bad posture!
That was quite a roller coaster in first 2 minutes
Employers complaining that employees don't want to come into an office and work 50-60 hours? No shit, Captain Obvious.
Well there's a reason younger guys look and dress a certain way- maturity. Even in past generations the younger crowd always looked different than their older peers.
Another interpretation is, of course, that men have gotten softer every generation for thousands of years :D
As a young man society and parents being emotionally unavailable makes it hard it’s like no place for us to go or anything worth succeeding at
Start hobbies or start going to Clubs/classes that are around your hobbies.Your social skills will improve.
@ I started college in the summer to help that
You haven't even seen me at my softest!
Came to see a vid on SS uniforms, and now I'm here.
Very well put information and a great perspective.
havent watched your videos in a while but the first one i see is a fucking banger🦶🤑🦶🤑
Well seid. The're not growing up in the world we did. Something you didn't mention is how expensive everything is now.
Why does every TH-camr spell out their sponsor's website nowadays? Don't people know how to write/type certain words anymore?
Have you read the book The Manipulated Man? This book was written in 1971 and seems more accurate and true as a reflection of our society than when it was written
Dude…you were on fire when you made this video! Well done!
thx for the great video. i was a little worried by the title lol -Gen Z'er
I have an opinion I used when I was working -- "If I did you can do it."
I am more than my disease.
Approaching 70, I'm willing to mentor even if it is via using technology.
Warmest regards, gentlemen (that is not a sissy word).
Old Mike
Awesome video Antonio! Well done!
Perhaps it is our older men who are to blame for the "modern men". I had mentors who contributed to my success, but I am not seeing as many of those wise people these days. It's too bad that we as elders are often the weak ones who are all too eager to punch down on the younger generations.
100% agree. But few knock on the door of wisdom or come in when invited
@KevinUrban-u1z The key to wisdom is having an idea of what you don't know. That is where we can step in for guidance. I also think this is a reason that channels like this, the Jordan Petersons and the Joe Rogans of the world are getting so much attention from our youth.
I found him, the one rational person on the internet!
Hot take: as a trained historian, all the older generations were correct and history is just a long slow decay.
As well-thought out and presented the video was... I'm now not eating ice cream before getting into the water. Not going to risk it.
0:48 lol
Thank you
Or….there’s nothing to fix and you should let people how they want.
Correct me if Im wrong, but isn't the thumbnail comparing a movie character to an actor?
SEVEN kids? Are you kidding me?! How many wives you got? Three? Four???
🎉🎉🎉 first comment! Love your vids!
From the U.S. to the EU and even APAC and Japan

checked your channel because i've considered to sub after watching one of your vids, and then saw this vid "ehh it's one of THESE channels, huh?" So happy it was just a ruse, and the vid is wholesome :) subbed
