You know, Antonio, I've been following you since the beginning. I always wondered how a TH-camr like you could stay relevant after a certain time, because the facts start to get repetitive. What I've learned is the repetition simply drives down the importance of the facts. You've made these points before in numerous videos, and it's the repetition that caused me to make the change; not 5-10 videos that only stated these facts once or twice. You're doing a great job, and I'm glad you're still here!
As a guy who’s a VP in a $200M/yr company; every employee that will ever be seen by a client get the same advisory from me; Never judge a book by its cover, and I mean don’t judge our clients - they pay our bills. And always know you will be judged the moment you are seen. Never, ever look more casual than our clients. The vast majority of our team understands how appearances matter. And this point was made clear in a summit meeting several of us attended where the best dressed and well,spoken were invited to an after meeting dinner with platinum tier clients. The rest of the attendees, got the consolation prize of the buffet dinner and a shuttle ride back to the hotel. Always, always, dress for the occasion and be the best dressed, and well spoken in the room. It commands respect.
I wonder what is the field of the companyyou work for, unfortunatelly less and less require formal clothing. I wish there was a way to search for work possitions where this is possible, even more to wear a suit and tie, but I think the only ones left out there are high rank managers or congressmen.
I guess it definitely depends on the field you're in. I did field work but at the end of the day i worked for giant tech companies. 😂 my company did provide 3 suits in around $6-8k range after some people had made a comment on what i was wearing but I never wore them and sadly don't fit anymore. When your job is to physically fix problems, whether IT work or swapping out giant mechanical pieces no one cares what you look like. I have a few pictures of me and some what famous wealthy men because they loved the fact that I showed up to a Chicago building in a tank top, swimming trunks and flip flops. When people get to extreme levels of wealth they honestly don't give a crap about anything other than the fact you know what you're doing. The only people who care about dress codes are middle management or people who think they're rich but still live paycheck to paycheck The only people I know who still wear the expensive monkey suits are lawyers and consultants because they NEED to look expensive

I do see so many people out now in their pajamas or pants falling down. I’m 53 and I appreciate all the advice I get here and I’ve made changes to my wardrobe. I feel a lot better when I’m looking my best.
I work in an office. There's no dress code, the manager just doesn't like men wearing shorts and of course sandals. Initially I was going pretty casually dressed, t-shorts, jeans, sport shoes...but at some point I was there for a couple of years, I had to train new employees etc, I had money, I began dressing bette. Nothing fancy just a polo instead of t-shirts in the summer, an oxford shirt, still mostly jeans, some better leather sneakers, or boots in the winter...and I get jokes about me overdressing, like I'm behaving like a CEO. I mean, society wants us to not dress well. But I also get compliments from people that visit my office and get my help. I prefer it being dressed a bit better. I feel better, work better. Still nothing too formal. Btw, the change came when I started watching your videos, for what it matters.
I like just simple shirts. I feel better and more confident when I wear them. No one in my circle wears shirts. Often I catch people looking at me from bottom to top. But I don't care. Let them watch, guys! Let them think whatever they want to think! Be the one!

I dont wear a suit but ill wear chinos, polos, nice sweaters, overcoats, loafers, Chelseas etc just bec i know we are judged by appearance and more importantly, i enjoy looking good. Sure i could go around in a tshirt and jeans and be fine but "if you dress good you feel good". I like expanding my wardrobe to have a great look for any occasion

Now I dress in my own style as often as possible, and whenever I don't, I get weird looks from those who know me. I must say that as a young man i just feel more comfortable in my skin if i dress smartly, and it boosts my confidence. While at first it may be a bit intimitading, it is very much worth it

Even though lately you've been overlooking my comments I still appreciate the content Antonio. I recently returned to the Thrift store and managed to find a nice Dark Brown sport coat that fit me right off the rack. Being in my middle 30's it's about time that I started to wear them so I look forward to my next one. I do have a Charcoal Jacket however I'm starting to wonder if I should've just bought it as an entire suit rather than a separate but oh well I think it can still be pulled off in some ways.
Is it a sport coat or a suit jacket? The sport coat definitely gives more flexibility and options with texture and materials and is more versatile. IMO a suit jacket works well when it’s paired with the matching trousers, worn as a single piece can be more difficult to pull off.
One of the healthiest things a man can do is stop caring what others think (on a detrimental level). True confidence comes from within, which organically shows outside. Despite being a grain of refined sand in a college town sea of sloppy hipsters, my confidence 9/10 times intimidates them from saying anything. The 1/10 times? Usually because their lady is looking at me.
I just got back from a cruise down the Nile. I knew we would be visiting classic five star hotels, so packed a nice light three piece, Panama hat and a cane for good measure. It really felt great getting compliments on the way I was dressed.
Antonio is a man in my 50s and a professional I have different styles I dress for myself but if I am meeting a client, I am aware of how they perceive me so I will always be in a suit. On casual Friday I will dress more relaxed when I go to church I will try and dress up. I think it’s appropriate even though I was born in the late 60s I think it would be great to go back to dress of the 50s because people always look nice. People should dress in what makes them feel good and makes them their best When you were confident people can sense it. When you go home from work, I think it’s fine to get into your comfy clothes whether it be lazy pants and a good sweatshirt or whatever makes you feel good. Just my thoughts I enjoy your channel. You do a terrific job.

I am sceptical of made-to-measure as you say because I am a body builder and my physique changes depending on the season. It's worth the money of course but I'm worried that I'll be buying suits and attire all for nothing if my body changes.
I am generally the best dressed amongst my coworkers and agree with what you are saying. I also think there is an undercurrent of “reverse snobbery” like you mentioned “I don’t need to impress anyone!!”
One important thing is this, using a set of “over dressed” clothes of good quality is that it saves time, you already know what to wear, just the usual. Even if there is a surprise meeting with some VIP you are ready for it. Quality is a feeling. To be seen as someone who takes care of his/her appearance also gives you energy to care for yourself… Wear a hat, always, and everyone will know who you are, just because most are to afraid of being “odd”. Never underestimate the value of this.

Thing is for me it's a lot of number 4 and a bit of "good cloths are not cheap". I have a rather noticeable gut, not morbidly obese large but still not the kind of build you get from going to the gym regularly or even mildly working out to keep fit. Wearing nice looking cloths, no matter how much I want to feels...kinda like I'm trying too hard to look nice. My maternal great grandfather could almost always be found wearing a suit be it business or casual even on his days off...and I'd like to have the kind of confidence he had to do that but he grew up in a time when suits were the norm. My gut ain't gonna go away, not without a LOT of work and constant upkeep as I get older being near 40 now, I can lose the weight, it's getting the gut to go away with it that's the problem...and then costs, even if I do go thrift shopping for nicer looking cloths (not a lot of such options where I live either) I'd still have to pay to get them more fitted for my body afterwards. I know it's a lot of excuses but the fact is for larger guys we're less like live action Kingpin and more like classic comic Kingpin with less than half the confidence to pull off the look since we've been beaten down by people making fun of our weight for years even when we work to get it under control or to take off what little we can if it's genetic that we're gonna have trouble getting it gone.
The biggest epiphany I’ve had in terms of how I dress in my late 30’s and now 40, is that the purpose of wearing nice clothes is NOT to show off, or to impress others. But to influence their first impression of me. I want my appearance to INVITE someone to get to know me.
I'm a literal ,walking relic of the 1930's/1940's,lol. I wear a suit daily (coat with matching dress trousers w/ shirt and tie, as well as nice oxfords or low quarter desert style boots. and top it all off with a fine felt fedora. I care nothing about what people think of me.

When I was a kid my mom used to bought me nice clothes, but I stopped dressing well because of mocking from other people in school and later in work, so I stoped wearing shirts and shoes and I'm no longer confortable using them.
I'm almost always the best-dressed guy... even when I'm at work. I don't dress up in suits or dressy things.. I have more of a heritage/workwear style. I am in fact a construction worker. Have an affinity for Leather, denim, wool, canvas, and cotton.
I appreciate this one. Been trying to dress better recently and this is a great motivation for it. The main problem I'm having, however, is trying to afford all the clothes. I'm in college at the moment and while I'll likely have some more money to spare on clothing once I get a salaried job, it's hard to find the money for things like tailored clothing. I gotta keep ear buds in always when I walk about outside, giving how well I dress thanks to channels like yours and Ashely Weston, but in Scotland, the land of tracksuits and sweat pants, dressing well is a trait they try acting if we dress well and taking care of my appearance its a “girly” thing as they all got missing teeth and bent noses from being broken, and I dont wanna have them lose anymore or myself go to jail so I gotta just ignore, but this also means I pass people I know without knowing I have and they think I am ignoring them, really sucks.
I have nice clothes but it’s hard to keep them stain free. I have a mini towel in my car for when I drive and drink coffee. And I’ve stained nice stuff at parties and just out and about eating fast food
New Year's Eve, took my date to a fine Italian restaurant. I was dressed similar to what you're wearing in this video and she was in a dress and heels. Figured we wouldn't be overdressed but nope. Heck, even business casual, with nice jeans is overdressed in bars and brewerys. Bartender said she remembers us because we always dress up. I laughed because it's just what I wear to work.
I from and live in the south. I find most women do not dress well too. Free tshirts and ripped jeans are the uniform of choice here. I love to dress well too. I’m a salesman. I gravitate to well dressed people. I can blame my parents. They always look ed good.
All it takes these days to be well dressed compared to the norm is a tucked in shirt, polished loafers, swap the smart watch for a real one and a pair of jeans that fit well that are non distressed (As well as being groomed, the effort to stay in in shape with a daily splash of Rose water). That alone is a very sad depiction of modern society that the bar has dropped so low, while on the flip coin, I applaud those Men for making those small steps into self betterment.

I see this all the time. I work Security part time at the Performance Arts Center, plays, operas, concerts etc. woman always dress their best, and the man they just…don’t show up for them. Old dirty sneakers, white socks, puff jackets, baseball caps, fleece tops, unpolished old dress shoes is the best case scenario. Come on guys, is just basic common sense, if your lady looks amazing, do her…if nothing else, the courtesy of matching her effort.

Difference is because of his wealth and celebrity status people are more interested in what he has to say rather than how he is dressed. Although his T-shirts are about $250 from an Italian brand. The rest of us mortals can use our clothes as a way to stand out and gain an advantage. He has nothing to prove with how he is dressed, although is frequently used as an example as someone who underdresses, same as Steve Jobs.
Sloppy is all over the world. I had some men in the family that to used to dress sharply on a daily basis and ended up not giving a hoot when they retired. Now I look at the gen z's in the family... I don't know what to say. I think our grandparents would be turning in their graves. I can understand if someone is broke or has a chronic disease and they can't afford to buy something decent but I'm noticing in some parts of the world even wealthy men dress poorly....I follow a channel that shows street fashion in Milan and the elderly Italians must be the smartest dressed in the world.
This right here is the biggest issue with these TH-cam men fashion accounts. I’m not going to wear a sport coat to a football game in August just to look better or make sure my shoes are perfectly acceptable to go to the grocery store.
Why dress up when no one else is? It definitely makes you stick out and people don’t like to stick out. I work in office jobs, my last job everyone wore a suit or nice cloths everyday. I got a new job and I wore a suit for my first day and everyone was staring at me. So I started dressing more casual. Truth is, most people don’t want to stick out always. Also, when I would go to stores or restaurants, I would get better service. I mean, I appreciated it and it made me feel nice. But sometimes I felt like I just didn’t want to stand out. Though I’ve always liked to dress up. It’s a paradox for sure.

I like dressing up. I really do. But you're wearing three or four layers on your top. I wear sandals at 30°. I'm very warm-blooded. I know people have said to switch to linens, but when you start adding layers, you add insulation. That isn't going to happen. I try to dress well, just not to the level I prefer. I'm a bow tie guy. I own it. But adding vests and jackets, or traveling in said items just turns me into a giant sweat bomb.

This is the year I finally buy a suit. I just have a bit of sticker shock in looking at prices for custom or made to measure options.
I bought a new $800 suit on eBay for less than $200, then spent $150 on tailoring.

No clothing is more comfortable than my made-to-measure suits, physically or socially.

I learned a lot from today’s outfit. 4 layers work when the first 3 layers are thin. A topcoat could even be added for 5 layers

I wish it was easier to find suits that aren’t modern fitting. Modern suits don’t have a lot of drape unlike the suits made back in the 40s

The biggest epiphany I’ve had in terms of how I dress in my late 30’s and now 40, is that the purpose of wearing nice clothes is NOT to show off, or to impress others. But to influence their first impression of me. I want my appearance to INVITE someone to get to know me.

I was that 10 year old and hated to dress up. I've grown up a little since then.
I'm a literal ,walking relic of the 1930's/1940's,lol. I wear a suit daily (coat with matching dress trousers w/ shirt and tie, as well as nice oxfords or low quarter desert style boots. and top it all off with a fine felt fedora. I care nothing about what people think of me.

When I was a kid my mom used to bought me nice clothes, but I stopped dressing well because of mocking from other people in school and later in work, so I stoped wearing shirts and shoes and I'm no longer confortable using them.
I'm almost always the best-dressed guy... even when I'm at work. I don't dress up in suits or dressy things.. I have more of a heritage/workwear style.

Dressing well makes you a target. People will think you have money, and will want to take that money.
I gotta keep ear buds in always when I walk about outside, giving how well I dress thanks to channels like yours and Ashely Weston, but in Scotland, the land of tracksuits and sweat pants, dressing well is a trait they try acting if we dress well and taking care of my appearance its a “girly” thing as they all got missing teeth and bent noses from being broken, and I dont wanna have them lose anymore or myself go to jail so I gotta just ignore, but this also means I pass people I know without knowing I have and they think I am ignoring them, really sucks.
I have nice clothes but it’s hard to keep them stain free. I have a mini towel in my car for when I drive and drink coffee. And I’ve stained nice stuff at parties and just out and about eating fast food

New Year's Eve, took my date to a fine Italian restaurant. I was dressed similar to what you're wearing in this video and she was in a dress and heels. Figured we wouldn't be overdressed but nope. Heck, even business casual, with nice jeans is overdressed in bars and brewerys. Bartender said she remembers us because we always dress up. I laughed because it's just what I wear to work.

All it takes these days to be well dressed compared to the norm is a tucked in shirt, polished loafers, swap the smart watch for a real one and a pair of jeans that fit well that are non distressed (As well as being groomed, the effort to stay in in shape with a daily splash of Rose water). That alone is a very sad depiction of modern society that the bar has dropped so low, while on the flip coin, I applaud those Men for making those small steps into self betterment.
I'd love to see some content on dressing well around a sidearm. Most content in that space is done by folks in the gun community, vs folks in the style community.

I see this all the time. I work Security part time at the Performance Arts Center, plays, operas, concerts etc. woman always dress their best, and the man they just…don’t show up for them. Old dirty sneakers, white socks, puff jackets, baseball caps, fleece tops, unpolished old dress shoes is the best case scenario. Come on guys, is just basic common sense, if your lady looks amazing, do her…if nothing else, the courtesy of matching her effort.

Difference is because of his wealth and celebrity status people are more interested in what he has to say rather than how he is dressed. Although his T-shirts are about $250 from an Italian brand. The rest of us mortals can use our clothes as a way to stand out and gain an advantage. He has nothing to prove with how he is dressed, although is frequently used as an example as someone who underdresses, same as Steve Jobs.

Sloppy is all over the world. I had some men in the family that to used to dress sharply on a daily basis and ended up not giving a hoot when they retired. Now I look at the gen z's in the family... I don't know what to say. I think our grandparents would be turning in their graves. I can understand if someone is broke or has a chronic disease and they can't afford to buy something decent but I'm noticing in some parts of the world even wealthy men dress poorly....I follow a channel that shows street fashion in Milan and the elderly Italians must be the smartest dressed in the world.

Why dress up when no one else is? It definitely makes you stick out and people don’t like to stick out. I work in office jobs, my last job everyone wore a suit or nice cloths everyday. I got a new job and I wore a suit for my first day and everyone was staring at me. So I started dressing more casual. Truth is, most people don’t want to stick out always. Also, when I would go to stores or restaurants, I would get better service. I mean, I appreciated it and it made me feel nice. But sometimes I felt like I just didn’t want to stand out. Though I’ve always liked to dress up. It’s a paradox for sure.

I like dressing up. I really do. But you're wearing three or four layers on your top. I wear sandals at 30°. I'm very warm-blooded. I know people have said to switch to linens, but when you start adding layers, you add insulation. That isn't going to happen. I try to dress well, just not to the level I prefer. I'm a bow tie guy. I own it. But adding vests and jackets, or traveling in said items just turns me into a giant sweat bomb.
