Antonio shows not only how knowledgeable he is when it comes to style, but how humble he is to shoutout other TH-camrs. Not many others would do the same. Major respect for that.✌🏿
The first advice “elevate your default” - that’s actually a very good point. This channel is awesome in getting these simple but not trivial advices, which are indeed foundational.
I knew an older lady from my parents church. She gave me her husbands suits and sport coats that don't fit him anymore. Turns out a couple of the items were Brooks Brothers. I was shocked, and the only difference was his arms were a bit longer. I got it tailored recently and just the feel and knowing the quality makes a huge difference in how I feel.
Antonio, I've been following your channel for a long time, as a fellow veteran (Army Infantry O-3), and a business professional, I appreciate the information you continually provide. You present the importance of personal style and presence and its impact on a man's personal and professional life in a way that is relatable to both young and older men. Please keep doing what you do. Ps. I knew all of the fashion terms you referred to.😊
Hey Antonio, I didn't know most of those terms until I completed your class!! Now, I'm happy to say that I know them all!! Working on my personal style, always!!
Its been over a year since I've watched one of your videos, and I knew every one of those terms you put out; you taught me everything I know about style, and for that I am grateful.
Great topic. The Default Style is the one that makes a difference for that chance meeting with a potential investor; that woman who is checking you out at the grocery store; or that random opportunity to see a show, dinner party, etc....
I greatly appreciate you including Jose, Jeff and (especially) Vladimir. It’s really difficult to find style, hair and grooming advice that that speaks to us with darker skin. I’m pretty fit now but when I was a bigger guy, you also included advice that worked for various body types. Love your channel.
I’ve been watching this channel for about 4-5 years, so it’s because of this channel that I understood all of the style terms that were listed. Thank you for that 🙏
Ever since watching your videos and joining Skool, I now have what I need to look great on a day to day basis. I definitely now have an interchangeable wardrobe, and a uniform. Thanks for all the great information.
Your sparking thought and change. These are hands down the best tips for being "seen" well transitioning from boy to man dress wise. Streamlined and style focus points.
Believe it or not, I’ve been watching your channel for almost 5 years, and I knew all those terms xD I actually work at Men’s Wearhouse right now. I’m a little bummed by how low quality most of our product is :\
Antonio, Thank you for the advice. I am working on updating my style and have learned a lot from you. I did know all of the terms you stated in the video.
I've amassed an extensive style vocabulary along my sartorial journey. What I like about your videos, Antonio, is your deployment of tropes to explain complex concepts. This is something I do in my media work. Your usage of architectural terms in masonry in this piece is an excellent way to explain the foundational concepts -- the building blocks (literally!) -- of style.
OUT-F’n-STANDING! I remember being a young Cpl. in the barracks, I was always having the others in my plt. asking if they could use a shirt or a spritz of smell good. Now as a departmental director people always ask & compliment my ties & how I dress. Like yourself I have an interest in style & studied up on it. Glad i did, I now have a chance to earn that challenge coin for know all of those terms. Keep up the good work warrior. 🤙🏼
Hello Antonio I m from West Africa, francophone I m 59 and i really appreciate your videos. I learn a lot following your videos. Thanks and best regards
I knew alot of them but not all I have always liked dressing nice but love the views it really helps me learn more. I don't dress for business for I work in a factory but for everyday.
I did know all the words you put out. And mostly thanks to guys like you and the guys you mentioned right after that. Thank all of you for help me evolve!
14:00 I have this jacket that my dad had in the 60s, it's older than me, it's had a striped front and plaid houndstooth everywhere else with full button up front. It's like an English country jacket. Without fail, whenever I wear that thing I will get a compliment or two. I've never found anything like it elsewhere and I've taken it to a tailor to see if I can have one made but that was going to be somewhere like $2500. I just wanted the look but they told me part of the look was the materials used and that's what costs so much. 14:30 I also bought a button up shirt from the 50s or 60s with different color blocks, like an enlarged plaid, that I got a vintage thrift store for $3 and I got so many compliments on that shirt every time I wore it.
One note to add when thrifting: know what you are looking for so you don't waste time. If you go into a thrift shop and just decided to look at everything there, over an hour can go by easily. When I go through shirts, I know I am looking for certain patterns or brands and just quickly skim through the rack looking for those things. I can spend about 15 minutes at Goodwill and know if there is something worth trying on or not.
Hi Antonio, i knew all the terms, thanks to you looking your videos more than 5 years now. Love your video and very informative about the default style.
Another well thought out site. One of my goals as someone who always trained, exercised with diversity and was very focused on health and diet. But one style trait I found which I wanted to change for presence and to be somewhat unique was a style that I observed by Sylvester Stallone. So one day I mentioned to my wife I was greatly ramping up on my core. That I wanted to have a stuffed in shirt. Whether Polo, my biker tee shirt, a collared pole, or dress shirt. I want a flat stomach that I dressed with a stuffed in shirt with any style pants. Jean, khakis, slacks even many shorts. Just like Stallone did. To highlight his physic. So after six months of core training and flat stomach focus I am there. And when I go into a restaurant, a business meeting or even out in a social gathering I seem to be one of the few and most of the time the only man with his shirt tucked. Everyone else whether young or old because of their stomach their trying to hide they are all wearing a loose fitting baggy shirt un-tucked. So thanks Mr. Stallone. As far as clothing at resale shops thats one of my favorite stop overs anywhere anytime looking for vintage dress shoes and loafers. There are some fantastic styles available for very little money in mint condition.
I was familiar with most but not all terms. Yesterday, I found a flawless grey herringbone Harris Tweed in 100% wool at the thrift store for 9.98. I'll be ready for fall this year! Thanks for all you share with us, Antonio!
Being a woman, I already knew the majority of those terms. The ones I wasn't familiar with, I learned from you! An interesting video and a lot of take-aways for women as well! Thank you.
Antonio, thought I would extend. I work in an office on a building site so my default is jeans and Columbia shirts and steel toe running type shoes, very practical. I compliment this with an Akubra belt. The project is now moving from a construction phase to an operation phase and I have to stay because we have an arbitration on the project so I need to up my style now we are moving into the permanent building. Not a suit necessarily but decent trousers, business shirts and a jacket (maybe not the jacket, I am in the UAE so it is currently 40'C). This is similar to my casual look, but I include RM Williams boots (Australian boots - suggestion look them up, they are the best!). I now have to deal with lawyers so I am in suits when I go to those meetings. Love bespoke suits and am lucky because tailors in the UAE are relatively cheap, but otherwise I love Sacoor suits which are of the rack but tailored. Sorry long response.
Your advice worked for my daily work clothes. Ditched the baggy t-shirts and went with a brand of fitted henely. Ditched the straight leg jeans and went with a brand of fitted gusseted crotch stretch slims for my tree trunk legs. Swapped to a brand of steel toe 8" leather moc toe boots. Nice wide leather belt. A wooden watch that catches attention. Topped off with a wide brim cattle suede hat for those sunny days.
Timely video Antonio! I see too many men let themselves go in the summer. I have a tan summer suit (2 of the same one). When I put on a plain light blue button cuff shirt its just ho-hum, but put on a checked french cuff with links and it goes way up, even with the same tie and shoes in both. I don’t know why guys think fit does not apply in summer. See too many horribly oversized over graphic tees, cheap sloppy polos in awful pastel colours with messed wrinkled collars, baggy shorts and cheap awful flip flops (some with socks!) I don’t even wear flip flops out in public anywhere (except the ones I use in the gym shower) Summer is the time to accentuate, not to hide.
Thrift stores can be a goldmine. I've recently picked up 3 sport coats, 2 very lightly used and 1 new (with tags) for $60. Got a couple quality dress shirts that combined, retail for over $200 new, and paid $21. Quick trip to the tailor for two of them (for darts) and boom, building and updating my wardrobe on a budget.
I am happy to say, after following Antoinio and Rafael for years, that I knew all of the style terms. My only question is about the term "tweed." The definition did not specify what made tweed different from other fabrics (from which suits, coats' and caps are made) I like "twilled fabric, principally for men's wear, having an unfinished surface, and two colors generally combined in the same yarn." or the Wikipedia definition are great.
I didn’t know Houndstooth or the denim one. 6:54 my gut is about 30cm smaller than my chest and hips(actual hip join region) but it looks bad lol got all my body fat right there.
I know all the terms but my mum being a seamstress may have helped(?). Good to see the promotion of other channels available ( I even watch Hugo to try & improve my schoolboy french..yes, using subtitles) .
I knew each of the terms, including the car terms. I am told that people tend to think i have a very deep vocabulary for the most part. Im currently in law school and was told that i was the only one ready to act like an attorney.
Great video. I knew all the terms you listed. 3 years ago I probably would not have known any of them. Its all thanks to watching your videos. Id love to have a challenge coin. Keep making these great videos.
Thanks for the video, and the strategies over the years! I was surprised I knew all those clothing terms. The car terms, not so much. I'd be happy to accept a challenge coin.
Can you give advice on people who are on a budget. Well sitting items cost quite a bit and general clothing stores don't usually provide the items necessary. At least where I'm from.
Bro pls do a video on being a man of value, a women of value and what does those 2 mean and how do they differentiate each other. Most ppl get this wrong and they keep confusing the traits and terms.
Antonio, I've learner so much over these kast few months and get stopped on the street to be complimented. And yes, I know every term in this video, mostly from you and the others you've recommended. Thank you!
Not only do I know all of those terms, but I have all of them except selvage jeans and monk straps. While I have a lot of shoes, I have never cared for monk straps. My go to casual outfit is quite often a pair of dark blue jeans, a Sunspel polo, and my favorite casual shoe that I own, Allen Edmonds, snuff suede, Goodyear welted, chukka boots.
I love it! Understood most of the terms/items used and mentioned. I've been following you for years. The greatest tip is to gradually upgrade your wardrobe, so it's easier to dress well, than to dress sloppy. Keep up the great work!
I knew most of the style terms. Now that I’m getting into the insurance industry, I need to update my dress clothing and business casual choices. Also I’ve lost 50+lbs so getting a smaller size is a new challenge for me. I’ve always worn a larger size to hide my size. Dropping a pant and shirt size I need to get used to purposefully getting a more form fitting wordrobe.
It was an absolutely superb presentation as always, Antonio. I've been listening while struggling to stretch and break in a new pair of Levis. I feel like I'm Iin a full-blown wrestling match with them. Getting some funny looks from my neighbour opposite. Any help or advice on this would really be appreciated 🙏
after watching your videos on the daily basis and dressing up well changing my whole wardrobe for a bit. yes I do know what the meaning behind all those style of clothing you mentioned, my only problem is, I feel limited toward what I can or can't wear since I have skin cancer, I have to wear UPF clothing and I live in Florida lol. I did find some Fine clothing close toward what you've been showing super comfortable, makes you look like an adult instead of a Potato Sack in baggy UPF fisher man clothing.
I knew all the terms, watching yourself, Alpha, and style O,G,!.... over the years, i have upgraded my wardrobe, and i still keep upgrading as i get older, because what works for you at one time , doesn't work a decade on. 👍
Awesome video Antonio! You always put a lot of thought and effort into your videos. Thank you! I am reflecting on how much I have leaned from you over 9 years of following you.
Hi Antonio, thanks to watching your videos and reading your articles I knew all those terms you listed. Really appreciate you and everything you've taught me about dressing well!
My current default is a black T-shirt, black jeans, black canvas shoes with neon laces, and a black leather motorcycle jacket. Currently, due to weather, I've been switching out the black cotton T-shirt for an AR 670-1 T-shirt which I tuck into my jeans, so it ends up not visible, and then cover it with a black turtle neck
Great video. I’m really glad I found your channel. I knew all the style terms. Some I knew, some were learned watching your channel. Keep up the great work.

Antonio shows not only how knowledgeable he is when it comes to style, but how humble he is to shoutout other TH-camrs. Not many others would do the same. Major respect for that.✌🏿
@@RealMenRealStyleI wonder why he left Ashley Weston out though. I follow half of his shoutouts plus her because she knows a whole lot
He really is for sure.
I have to say that the other style channels he mentioned are the absolute best. Sartorial talks, and Kirby Allison are indeed my absolute favourites.
"Dress the part of the man you know yourself to be". Words to live by.
The first advice “elevate your default” - that’s actually a very good point. This channel is awesome in getting these simple but not trivial advices, which are indeed foundational.
Keep up the work Antonio! We need people like you in this world!
Thank you!
Yes we do! I’m a woman and I’m so tired of men walking around everywhere in sweats, cheap jeans and graphic tees and polyester hoodies!!! 😱
The ‘default’ explanation from the IT space is accurately curated :)

I just want to thank you for all these videos you are doing it’s proper changed how I dress and I’ll be upgrading all my gear.
Yes Antonio. I'm fortunately aware of the terminologies you've mentioned.
Happy to say that I knew all of those terms thanks to Antonio and many of the other TH-cam channels he mentioned.

Hello Antonio
I m from West Africa, francophone
I m 59 and i really appreciate your videos. I learn a lot following your videos. Thanks and best regards
I knew all the terms and would love a challenge coin! Glad to see you are spreading that military tradition.
You're very convincing. I get the vibe and will take on a lot of your advice x
I knew alot of them but not all I have always liked dressing nice but love the views it really helps me learn more. I don't dress for business for I work in a factory but for everyday.
I like the fact that you shout out other style channels. Each channel has something different to offer.

Well done introducing your business brothers. You displayed confidence, generosity and professionalism.

I knew all of those terms. And it's true, if a person isn't into fashion they won't understand the beauty in craftsmanship and how it is made.
Yes I knew the style terms. Though my wardrobe doesn’t reflect it. I need to upgrade
Antonio, I just saw the video & I'm happy to let you know I all the photos displayed. I knew this greatly due to your RMRS videos.
Hey Antonio…yes I knew the terms, also fellow vet here, thank you for your service brother and dig what you are doing.
Another well thought out site. One of my goals as someone who always trained, exercised with diversity and was very focused on health and diet. Great work Antonio. Yes, because of you and John over at 40 Over Fashion, I knew all of those terms. Thanks.
Understood all the terms and I like what you are doing, keep it up. I have learned a lot over the last couple years watching your videos.

Just discovered your channel and loving it! Keep up the good work! And thanks for the tips!
I know all of those terms. But I still appreciate videos and channels like yours. Keep up the good work!
Thank you for the tips, Antonio. Every time I watch your videos I get more and more stylish! 😁
See too many horribly oversized over graphic tees, cheap sloppy polos in awful pastel colours with messed wrinkled collars, baggy shorts and cheap awful flip flops (some with socks!)
I don’t even wear flip flops out in public anywhere (except the ones I use in the gym shower)
Summer is the time to accentuate, not to hide.
Thrift stores can be a goldmine. I've recently picked up 3 sport coats, 2 very lightly used and 1 new (with tags) for $60. Yeah, I knew all those terms. Thanks to you and a few other channels
I for sure know every style term on that list-thanks in part to you. 😎

Anthony, evening attire. Do you have content for a straight man in his 50's going out to enjoy the late night, night life night?
I knew most of the style terms. Now that I’m getting into the insurance industry, I need to update my dress clothing and business casual choices. Hey Antonio I knew all of this style terms mention in this video!!! Keep up the good work, really enjoy your content!!
I knew all the terms, watching yourself, Alpha, and style O,G,!.... over the years, i have upgraded my wardrobe, and i still keep upgrading as i get older, because what works for you at one time , doesn't work a decade on. 👍

Great video! Which brand of performance polos do you recommend?
Hey! I knew all the terms! I am making progress.
Not only do I know all the terms you dropped, I own most of them!
I knew all those terms and felt like a nerd because of it.
Gimme a challenge coin!
