  • Finally my favorite stream was at a fishable level after all the rain we've been getting. The fish calendar said it should be an excellent day to fish as well so I was eager to get on the stream. I think I started too early though, I was on the water about 2pm and very little was happening. After an hour I made the decision to try an audible.
I went to another stream that I like to fish but has very few access points. I'd been to this section just once before a few years ago and it was meh. This day was better. For most of the stream it's very tight and overgrown. Then about a mile back from the bridge it really opened up. I'll have to try this one again.
A creel survey by the DNR a few years back said they didn't catch a single brown but if you watch you'll see that's not the case anymore????

This past March I was fishing the Prairie River. Fishing stunk. Water was way too cold for the fish to be active. But I spooked up an 18" Brookie. I knew it was a Brook because I seen the Red all over it. It was insane. Like seeing a little Salmon.
My general experience on the Prairie is that you dont catch many fish. But the few you do catch are generally larger than the average fish from other streams.
Anyway, nice video dude. Now im itching to go trout fishing, but definitely not in this typical July weather.

      Thanks
Always right, the one that got away was the biggest, but it's still a thrill to see them!
I tried the Prairie once last year and didn't have any luck but there's a lot of river to try there so I'm sure I'll give it a go again.
