@@knrz2562 Brass casings are often reused to make ammunition at home. This is actually much cheaper than buying factory new ammunition. Reusing projectiles is not a thing generally, as they are both harder to recover and usually deformed at minimum.
@@KevBotM Depends, if the range allows lead it used to get collected, melted down and recast for shooting or sold to scrap dealers. Makes sense. Silver is a pretty soft metal, with a Brinell hardness number of just 24.5, but it's still significantly harder than the lead alloys used in modern bullets, which typically run between 15 and 20.
A quite delightful wasp at 16:16 enjoying his day watching Kentucky Ballistics destroy a gelatin werewolf.😎😎😎 It appears again for his daily content at 16:35 And gets his screen time for the day.😎😎😎
According to the book "Monster Hunter International", it's cheaper to make regular bullets with silver powder suspended throughout (called sintered metal). They also give better ballistic results.
Oregon trail loads silver lead alloy bullets that have very good ballistics for lead alloy. They're also fairly hard, so you can drive them faster in a carbine without the need for a gas check. In rifle calibers, you shouldn't definitely use a gas check for the increased pressure.
Loving these monster episodes :) By the way, don't let anyone tell you silver bullets for werewolves was invented for The Wolf Man - it goes back to at the very least 1815 and for supernatural entities in general back to the 1680s (again, at least).

Great vid Scott, love your work, however I am sure that the .45 would be best for werewolf hunting because it didn't make it through. The silver would continue to weaken the werewolf, much like poison or tranq rounds. Just a theory though

I knew that silver is much harder than lead, its interesting to see how it performed as ammo. Really makes you think how if there was an actual need for silver bullets how people would handle it for maximum effect. I was grossed out by hammering the body at the end.
8:45 Well, according to folklore silver is toxic to werewolves, and stops them from insta-healing, or even reverts them to their human form. So shooting one with a caliber that penetrates deep, but doesn't exit, seems about ideal. A through-and-through would probably only slow it down for a while, and then it'd come at you even more pissed off than before.
If i remember quick silver is the one that's toxic to vampires and were wolves. Ordinary silver still hurts them like a lot while quick silver is a poison to them

Ever recover a bullet and reload it on the range? You’ll probably destroy the rifling, but it would be interesting to see how many times you could catch and re-fire the same bullet.
It would be very expensive to refill a bullet with gunpowder and reshooting it over and over?!.
Not sure how well that works on lead free ammo, and of course jacketed rounds you need to separate the jacket first but recasting rounds is very much a thing especially for folks with rarer caliber rifles since they often need to cast their own since they can't source ammo frequently, just getting/making the molds is a challenge.
@@knrz2562there is a very devout group of gun owners called reloaders that reuse spent casings and even make their own bullets. There is a certain criteria that must be met to ensure no case ruptures but with how pricey ammo is, it’s becoming more common to reload your own ammo, especially niche or expensive ammo
I wonder how many times Scott and Matt are going to grab freshly fired rounds out of something and shout “Ow. That’s hot!” Yeah, the fireball out of the barrel should have told you.
It's for the entertainment value
It’s not the fireball, it’s the friction. (That’s what she said?)
@@TJ-Wyeah, it hitting something gives the heat
@@electricheartpony so does the lead, or in this case silver scraping against the rifling in the barrel, and since silver is a harder metal than lead i would expect these rounds to be exceptionally hot
Yeah I understand the physics. was going for a low key joke of John Candy telling Clark that the moose out front should have told them Wallyworld was closed. :D
Always interesting to see how a lovingly crafted custom ballistic gel head can just disappear when Scott waves his magic Serbu 🎉
Very Lovingly Crafted, but we enjoy watching them get destroyed.
18:21 hey guys, I guess that’s it moment💀
Holy smokes that slow mo werewolf skull evaporation at 18:10 is the single craziest damage shot I've seen on Scott's channel (or any) 😂
I’ve seen a documentary about silver bullets. The conclusion was they have terrible accuracy and just go right through instead of stopping and expanding. So I pretty much knew you’d get the results you got.
Makes sense. Silver is a pretty soft metal, with a Brinell hardness number of just 24.5, but it's still significantly harder than the lead alloys used in modern bullets, which typically run between 15 and 20.
I saw an article about silver bullets a while back, and they came to the same conclusion.
Well yeah they aint soft or hollow points so no duh they'd work like a fmj more then a hollow
That was epic, Scott! I'm just gonna go ahead and say CONGRATULATIONS ON 4 MILLION SUBS! Because it's gonna be any day now. 🎉
A quite delightful wasp at 16:16 enjoying his day watching Kentucky Ballistics destroy a gelatin werewolf.😎😎😎
It appears again for his daily content at 16:35 And gets his screen time for the day.😎😎😎
So cool how the 9mm was still spinning in the water.. one of the coolest shots yet on the show..
Scott, that was the most beautifully & artistically executed headshot on TH-cam, ever. Thank you!
But only the MCB gets those bullets
What I wanna know… is why all of a sudden we’re researching this… not that it’s not dope info… just curious
@@Tyfu39944 government doesn't want us to know werewolves are real 🤣
The man's just under out of control! Just where I like it!
Loving these monster episodes :) By the way, don't let anyone tell you silver bullets for werewolves was invented for The Wolf Man - it goes back to at the very least 1815 and for supernatural entities in general back to the 1680s (again, at least).
Oh man, that last one that obliterated the skull would be a really cool thing to get in 1 million FPS. The shockwaves and force coming from the barrel would look absolutely amazing. Awesome vid as always!
the Silver .50 BMG is what you use on a Were-tank, manned by a Werewolf crew. and i swear the Serbu RN-50 is really just good for exotic .50 rounds.
kind of surprised that the silver bullets were as solid as they were, i thought they would have broken apart almost every time but hey! now you have physical silver! grats scott and a great vid :D
Yeah about the serbu 💀
18:44 Scott: This was once a Werewolf😂😂😂
For testing werewolf bullets, you need to use ballistic were-gel blocks.
You know you really made it when you can finally afford to shoot solid gold or platinum bullets. Keep going, you’ll get there.
They pretty much act as a brass solid, just not as tough. Still pretty amazing to actually see it put to the test!
I love how scott always takes water bottle flipping to a whole new level with the tables
Great vid Scott, love your work, however I am sure that the .45 would be best for werewolf hunting because it didn't make it through. The silver would continue to weaken the werewolf, much like poison or tranq rounds. Just a theory though
This is why, if you're read the Monster Hunter International books from Larry Correa, they used .45 hollow points with a silver ball embedded in it and .308 with a silver core penetrator.
I'm sure Owen Pitt and Earl Harbinger would find this video entertaining.
😂
DUDE! That werewolf torso looks freaking AWESOME. Have to say I'm impressed. I'd love to see a Bigfoot torso next 🤘🔥
50bmg was CRAZY! I love your videos!
You're so close to 4 million subscribers Scott! I can't wait to see what you do when you hit it
This demonstrates that different ammunition produces different results. Good choice of calibers in this episode. Another great video. Thanks Scott.👏🏻🤜🏻🤛🏻🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
You missed that werewolfs usually have some thick fur. I recomment to do the test again, but this time with a layer or two of boar hide on the dummy.
Thanks KB for all the videos you post brother - Can’t wait to see this video cause you’re always keeping us entertained.
I know scott is thanking us for watching and subscribing to his channel. We also wanna give scott a big thanks as well for making these videos. Scott is the best!!!
Hi Scott, you don't want the bullet to pass thru the werewolf. More damage occurs of the silver bullet stay inside. To cause even more damage, a hollow point filled with liquid silver (aka mercury).
If it works by MHI logic, blast 'em with Dragon's Breath AND silver shot.
Cool 😮 . As an English man having no access to firearms. How is kung fu & course language. My good sir 🤣🤣🧐 . If I was hunting the foul beasties . Us British like to go large for king country. So a RPG 7 with solid silver rockets. Ime not faking chances with a 700 lbs upright canine 🐺 . Nope 😅🤣🤣
You have the silverware though! @@thedesolateone8260
So it's mercury and not silver
@@BotulinSpikedMarzipan it's both, silver hollow point with mercury inside.
9:22 bro is an absolute beast, didn’t even blink 😂
18:41 head goes boom 😂😂😂
9:44 Kentucky Ballistics: Blowing a Werewolf's Back Out! NOT CLICKBAIT
He blew it's back out with his .950jdj😩😫
I hope that comes across clear
Another totally absorbing, creative, and just plain entertaining episode with just a hint of actual information on silver bullets if you were The Lone Ranger.
18:20 that was mind blowing bro 🤯🤯🤯
I've watched your videos for over 4 years now! Videos just keep getting better don't they?
Love Scott. He's the best
Dude thanks you for putting out such informative content, you answer all the real questions we have but no one else has the balls to answer
Too bad GT doesn’t explore beyond his doctorate 😜
7:15 nothing like a nice and calm pat on the head of a werewolf 😂
Great video today. Keep up the great work and fun ideas
Yup 😂
Therapist: Would you say guns are your biggest interest?
Scott: No, destroying chronographs
*_😲😮🤣🤣🤣_**_18:15_**_ HASTA LA VISTA WEREWOLF!!!_*
For those wondering, he used roughly 4.70oz of silver, silver is currently $22.64USD/oz. So total price for silver is around $110USD. Scott lives in a double wide refrigerator box in today’s current housing market. I hope you got it back bud. 😂
Edit: these are quik maffs, so I’m probably wrong.
Thank you!!
Quik maffs you british by any chance? Or just a big shaq fan?
Ur probably right or about right
Keep in mind cost of production for specialized not 'en mass is subject to be more expensive
Bro has tens of thousands of dollars worth of guns and a $400 knife that he showed in the video, not to mention those dummies are almost $1k
I think he's good lmao
Thar slow-mo of the 50bmg at point blank was the best thing I have ever seen.
7:50 that’s not blood. It’s bile. You hit the liver
18:51 his were parents be like “can we see him?”
I'm surprised Scott's shirt collar isn't stretched out by now. Showing off the ol' battlescar is practically a must when mentioning 50.bmg.
Man, first I watch Brandon fire about $10k in RPG ammo, now Scott is using actual silver as bullets. Pricey day for the guntubers I guess
silver is pretty cheap. getting it made was probably the hard part
@@nymeriagloves3957if he has his own reloading setup then it would be cheap
25 an oz
Yesssss make sure the bullet doesn't get Dehydrated 😂😂😂😂14:50
Ag is the most thermally-conductive of metals, so silver bullets would captur and retain more heat than lead bullets. A fantastic episode.
Scott beating the torso with a comically large hammer was hilarious 😂
I got to admit, as a fan of Supernatural, I only thought silver bullets only existed in the show. But it's actually kind of cool to see it be a real thing. Cool video Scott. Hope you have a great Happy Halloween.
Everyone seems to forget blade
Anybody can buy bullet molds and make their own to load. It's not expensive, except for the $25 an ounce
The Lone Ranger says "hi".
Seems that’s a silver bullet is actually more damaging than a less one or even a brass. Weird how that works
First a vampire self defense video from Paul Harrell and now Werewolves from Scott, I'm going the be well prepared for tomorrow.
💪🎃👍
Now that’s what I call exceptional muzzle velocity!!
Too much fun!
Thanks Scott 🙏
It's a shame to have blasted the cutest gel contraption to have ever graced your channel, but seeing it briefly converted into a demogorgon in slow motion before disappearing was well worth it! Awesome video!
Omg I love the theatrics 😂 who’s a good boy? Who’s a good boy? 😅😂 I’m dyin 🤣
Man, Scott keeps coming with the hits! (Literally). I'm really digging how he's crushing the Halloween theme! Before you Trick or Treat this year, make sure you have Enough Neck Meat!!!
Would've loved to have seen any size of buck in the 12, but honestly, it'd probably just do the same thing lead buck would've done. A slug would've been pretty awesome too, (expensive but awesome.) Great video, thanks Scott 💯
I knew that silver is much harder than lead, its interesting to see how it performed as ammo. Really makes you think how if there was an actual need for silver bullets how people would handle it for maximum effect.
I was grossed out by hammering the body at the end.
You should have covered your eyes with your purse 😂
Ok, I have a quick question, what was the 0.01% that was in the bullet?
8:45
Well, according to folklore silver is toxic to werewolves, and stops them from insta-healing, or even reverts them to their human form.
So shooting one with a caliber that penetrates deep, but doesn't exit, seems about ideal.
A through-and-through would probably only slow it down for a while, and then it'd come at you even more pissed off than before.
If i remember quick silver is the one that's toxic to vampires and were wolves. Ordinary silver still hurts them like a lot while quick silver is a poison to them
The slo mo on that first 9mm was awesome . Great video Scott.
This was an awesome video,Scott. I was hoping to see the 416 Rigby but the 50 cal was just incredible. Thanks again, your the best.
I love the incredibly underwhelming slapping sounds the hammer made on the werewolf's midsection 😂
Akshuallllly, i think you want the 45 acp that keeps the silver in the werewolf....per se. If you penetrate fully through, the silver can't do its work. LOL Love this episode, brother. You go all out every time and it's awesome! Keep up the great work!
There's vampire defense, werewolf, and zombie defense weapons. I don't think Bob is going to find Scott Defense weapons, but he sure is gunna need em! 😂
For real, Scott should make a sitcom with these characters
Much of the destruction of the head was caused by muzzle blast.
While silver has roughly the same density as lead, it's actually about 5 times harder so no wonder it didn't deform as much as you were expecting.
I'm honestly curious what a hollow point silver bullet might do?
silver alloys can be heat hardened. Process to heat harden, anneal for 30 minutes at 1200°F (760°C) for assembled pieces and 1370°F (743°C) for non-assembled pieces followed by rapid water quenching. To harden, heat to 650°F (343°C) for 30 minutes, quench or air cool.
