Looks like a great product. I admire your care and methodical approach on all your installations. You have a beautiful bike and your pride of ownership is apparent. Love seeing the dogs in the video...they are always very laid back and relaxed.
Thank you very much for the video. Was of great help to install the clear headlight protector. Indeed the manual of wunderlich leaves room for improvement,
Good morning, I would just like to say thank you for your video, I am a very poor DIY person but saw your video and thought i would give it go on my triple black 2024 model. All went very well and i would not of attempted this without your help. Regards Paul.
Thank you VERY much for the video, it was of GREAT help to me for installing the protector on my GS. Head no clue how to install the lower brackets until - your video! So again, thanks a lot, job done in an hour 👍🏻
I've just finished fitting the Wunderlich folding lens protector to my brand new GS 1250 Adventure. It's a little more involved as the body work is a little bit more difficult to remove especially as the upper engine protection bar has to come off as does the tank top cover . However it wasn't too difficult and your detailed instructions did help to a large extent. The hexagonal hole for the large 8mm nut and bolt can't even be seen on the GSA so you've no choice but to remove the bodywork from the front of the bike. The front beak is also in two parts, left and right. I was impressed with the relative ease that the whole thing came apart and more importantly went back together. Just a quick FYI to anyone removing the tank cover is that the fuel cap doesn't need to be removed, the cover will pop off the filler cap housing, if like me you're weren't brave enough and undid the fuel filler be aware to correctly line up the rubber gasket that seals the filler body to the tank and make sure that the cap fastener works properly especially with the keyless option. Overall I'm very pleased with the folding light protector and it's not even too obvious that there's one on there that maybe shouldn't be. So it's a thumbs up from me.
Another great video. Have also fitted this to my 1250 GS after looking at all the other options available and am really pleased with the decision to get this one. Would recommend smearing a bit of silicone grease on the top bracket pins that the screen grommets clip onto, to extend the life of the grommet rubber and to help when flipping the screen down for cleaning.
Hi thanks for informative video on how to fit the headlight protector Finally fitted mine today took around 50 minutes easy when the plastics are removed
Great instructional vid. I have ordered one of these from NN for my ‘23 GSA which it appear I have a hexagonal hole where the thread for the light bar is on yours -yet to dismantle to confirm but seems likely…..cheers
cool vid, some pointers: 1) let everyone know to watch the vid at least once before actioning (i.e. mentioning to remove items like watches and jewelry to prevent scratches 2) for the nuts, would locktite be an option to prevent any screws from coming loose?
Great video. Helped me alot in putting the cover on. Being very clumsy, its best to wear a hard hat, as underneath the beak there are lots of edges to bash your head. After fitting the screen my head looked like i attacked it with a jigsaw, beware!!!!!
Thanks. A very comprehensive vid and I have the grill version on order so this is very timely. One question. I am not clear why you removed the plastic panel across the top of the headlight? I initially assumed it was to get access to screws to remove the beak but noticed on the assembly you put it on first and secured it back into place with all four screws. Do you actually need to remove it?
Hi . You can leave it on . It just makes removing the beak section when you pull it forward , less likely to a scratch your smooth shiny new bike . So you don’t have to take it off it you don’t want to . Same for putting the beak back on , some folk for the sake of removing 4 screws may find it less stressful if you know what I mean 👍
@@gsd32i Thanks. I have the radiator guards and the Garmin mount conversion to fit too so will be taking all the front off and doing it all in one go. Just working out the sequence as I wait for all the bits to arrive.
@@markpowell7713 enjoy. I am just fitting my Innov K2 from my previous bike then that's it I am done, I can go and ride the thing!! videos take for ever to do 🙄
Thank you for this video, planning to buy one for my ‘18 1200 GS. In my country (The Netherlands) it is allowed to cover 25% of your lights. So.. this is 100% covered but 100% clear! Did you see any difference in the light from the headlamp?
Just done 1500 miles to the Alps and back , very easy to clean it re bugs etc just like your helmet visor. Did a small bit of night riding with rain thrown in for good measure and with the guard "up"there was a bit of throw back of headlight, but nothing to put you off. In fact, the oem spotlights caused more of a distraction with a rainbow effect being cast on the floor beneath them . Screen is the bmw Rallye one , dark tint.
I’m going to attempt to fit my parts tomorrow, so you may get a big increase in views on this video 😂 and try and get to Mansell’s to see what Greg think’s of the spray job I’m having doing to a couple of the parts. Not picking them up from the spray shop till tomorrow morning and I better be happy with them or they won’t go on. I’ll send you a pic of the headlight protector in a different colour 😮
Good luck with fitting those parts . I am back Monday for 2 weeks so we should do a cuppa tea somewhere . My sc project exhaust has been dispatched and I have got some Denali d3 lights coming down from NN any day 👍
Great product..but What a FLOGGING putting this on! 😮 I just put on a "Puig" light protector. Not cheap, either. You're welcome to look it up. High quantity and comes mostly assembled. With a hefty bracket to boot. Two screws and done!!
The BikeThings Ammo Guard is a much better-looking headlight protector. If you didn't know it was installed, you would swear there was no guard on the bike at all. These headlight windscreens just look bulky and detract from the bikes appearance.
I won't fit any Wunderlich products to my bike as they are so over priced it is comical. The light protector for £120.... are you kidding me. I have been in manufacturing all of my life and it is a bit of acrylic and a bent piece of mild steel stamped out.... I reckon on total cost to make it of around £5. I bought a copy one from China ( probably where the Wuderlich one is made too ) it cost me £19.50. It fitted perfectly and is value for money !
Alf there will be a lot of people with tickets then 🤪👍I doubt there will be any Police who know what the law / article is that is being broken , but so let me know when you find out . Ride safe .

thanks, indeed they are. hence the gsd part of the channel name 😊
Brilliant. Wunderlich should get you to do all their instructionals. Their installational papers can be almost impenetrable! Thank you
😂 they’ve now sent me some bar risers to do next 👍
Excellent video thank you, the world would be a better place if all TH-camrs were this good👍
Thanks 👍

Hi Paul. Thanks for the comments and glad to have helped a bit. 👍
@@gsd32i one more question for you, did you fit the beak on your bike or did bmw ? Where did you buy it? And is it easy to fit ? Cheers Paul
@@paultruckle3104 No problem, I ticked the options box when I ordered the bike. No doubt they are available from China for 50p 😂

Perfect explanation, thx. I'll begin the job tomorrow.

Has anyone ever broken an OEM Lenz. It’s pretty tough polycarbonate so largely this is just another useless gimmick for most GS owners
